But thanks to revised telecom regulations and an ever increasing mobile-savvy customer group, prepaid subscribers today are spoil for choice with mobile operators coming out with exciting prepaid data plans from time to time.
In this article, we have done a comparison of 3G prepaid mobile data plans in Karnataka for Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel and BSNL for 2016. To keep things simple, we have compared only standard plans for 300MB, 1GB, 2GB and 5GB data.
From what it appears, Aircel has the cheapest standard plans for 3G Prepaid Mobile Data Packs. Airtel, on the other end, turns out to be the most expensive.

BSNL does not provide a 3G data plan for 300MB. Airtel turns out to be the costliest with users shelling out Rs.103 for 14 days validity.
Comparison of 3G Prepaid Data Pack Pricing for 1GB
Aircel is a clear winner in this band with users paying only Rs.148/- for 30 days validity.
Comparison of 3G Prepaid Data Pack Pricing for 2GB
BSNL is a winner in this band where subscribers have to pay Rs.451/- for 60 days validity. Aircel is a close second with subscribers paying Rs.255/- for 30 days validity.
Comparison of 3G Prepaid Data Pack Pricing for 5GB
Vodafone and Idea has no specific plans for 5GB 3G data. Here too, Airtel turns out to be the costliest with subscribers paying Rs.955/- for 28 days validity.
This is only for Karnataka Circle. Plans and prices may slightly vary from circle to circle but overall the trend remains the same.
