Today, Amazon India announced the launch of ‘rekindle 2.0’. rekindle 2.0 is designed as a launchpad for women who have had an extended absence from work for a period of more than 12 months due to any personal reasons. Rekindle 2.0 is an initiative designed to support women coming back from extended breaks to resume and rebuild their corporate careers. The program was initiated as a pilot in 2016 and it now has been relaunched with new features and benefits including ‘Structured on-boarding, focused mentoring, flexible work options. The program will also offer on-the-job learning that will help women integrate into the workplace more smoothly.
‘rekindle 2.0’ will let women candidates have access to flexible work options including work from home, and flexible shift options depending on the role. Amazon will also facilitate peer learning circles that will help with specific skills gaps. The program offers various roles and assignments that empower them to perform effectively on the job and thus it enables a gradual ramp-up of responsibilities in stages giving the candidates the bandwidth and resources to get accustomed to corporate work schedules. The rekindle 2.0 has a variety of tech and non-tech roles including working on live-projects across various functional areas.
Who can use rekindle?
- Rekindle is open to all the women candidate who has taken a minimum of 12 months career break.
- Any woman who has prior experience that matches job requirements for the identified positions.
One’s the candidates are selected and the selected candidates are on-boarded, Amazon will help them to get assimilated into the Amazon culture with the rekindle orientation program.
