Now starting with the unboxing part of the Ulefone Gemini phone, at the top we got Ulefone Gemini branding and nothing else. When we open up the box first, we get the device itself, which as per my first impression seems to be impressive and well-built with the price bracket of 130$ which is approx. Rs. 8400 only. Opening it further we get a user manual and finally it’s in English if you guys want to read it, after that we get a high quality curved tempered and it has some kind of blue tint on it, which looks good, this is not enough we also get a high-quality silicon case with the package. And wait we also get a phone stand or we can use the same for holding the phone by putting a finger in it, we just need to stick it onto the back of the phone.
After that, we get a power brick which doesn’t support fast charging as it gives the output of 1.5amp, and a micro USB cable, we also get a sim ejector pin within the box. Keeping all the things aside lets come back to the device. Peeling off the lamination from both sides of the phone and I would say with this pricing they have some great work on the design and built element it looks great.
So, starting with the front part here we get a 5 megapixel shooter beside it an earpiece and different sensors, coming below we get 5.5” FHD Display, which is covered with 2.5D curved glass as well as a gorilla glass 3 is also added, sliding little bit down here we get Back Navigation keys which are customizable and below that house a Home Button, which also act as a fingerprint sensor as well as the button can also be pressed.
Coming to the down portion of the phone here we get a Normal Micro USB port, beside it a speaker and a primary MIC, turning to the top we get a 3.5mm audio jack and nothing much, moving further to the right side of the phone there we get a Hybrid Sim tray slot, and you can expand it to up to 256Gb below that we get a Dedicated Camera shutter button which is made up metal and has some kind of patterned feel on it. Previously I thought that it is a power lock key, but it was not.
Turning to another side we get Volume rockers, and power lock keys which are also made up of metal and buttons feels quite good while you press them. The overall built of the phone is great we get proper chaptered edges on the phone all its corners, and black color really suits a lot.
Finally coming to the back panel of the phone which is the primary highlight over here, we get metallic body but the upper and lower parts are made up of plastic, still they have added some unique design to their plastic part, not like another device which we get in the market with plain finish, below that we get chrome finish antenna line and below that houses Dual Camera setup which is a 13MP+5Mp shooter with Dual LED flash over there. Below that we get Ulefone branding and nothing much we need to explain in this video.
So, not taking so much time let’s do a first boot of the phone, and till the phone get a boot up let’s check out the specs part of the phone.
Here we get a 5.5” FHD display with gorilla glass 3 protection, Mediatek MT6737T processor which is supported with 3GB ram and Mali T720, we also get 32GB internal storage which can be expanded to up to 256 GB, Fingerprint sensor at the front, 5Mp front camera 13+5MP back camera with Dual LED flash.
So, as the devices are booted up it seems to be quite smooth, it seems to be like stock android with small minor UI skin they are using. After boot here we got our first update with some minor fixes, we do it later. We can also change different themes as per our usage. Now coming to the setting part, about the phone we get Android 6.0 out of the box expected Android 7 updates by next few weeks, We get approx. 25GB free out of 32 GB internal storage. We get 1.9GB ram free which is a good sign for this device. Rest overall first impression is smooth.
