Differences Between Agile and DevOps

Broadly used, Agile involves a shift in the working process of organizations. It transforms the way companies do business and interact with potential clients. Not just that, Agile also changes the way teams interact with one another during the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

It follows the principles of the Agile Manifesto and promotes the following:

  • Continuous integration via continuous feedback
  • Enhanced client relationships with flexible requirement models
  • Increased collaboration between different teams and processes

On the other hand, DevOps is a development and operations approach that brings together the Development and Operations teams to focus on continuous and rapid delivery. DevOps uses automation technology to integrate and allow for rapid deployments to production.

While DevOps and Agile might have some similarities such as enhanced cross-functional team collaboration, there are significant differences between the two models.

Both Agile and DevOps have different practices, tools, and processes.
