Reliance Jio Infocomm is all set for the commercial launch of Jio GigaFiber on August 12. Jio GigaFiber is the high-speed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) offered by Reliance Jio Infocomm. The company has announced the limited launch of the Jio GigaFiber at its last AGM back in July last year. at that time only the company has initiated the broadband service through Jio GigaFiber in 1,100 cities across India through a registration process. But the commercial launch is yet to happen and the date finalized for the commercial launch is August 12.

The company has still not provided any details about the services offered by Jio GigaFIber. However, as per the reports by The Hindu, the company has certain plans to launch the services, which would include home broadband, entertainment, and smart home IoT (Internet of Things) solutions.

Jio GigaFiber was initially available at a security deposit charge of Rs. 4,500 but now Reliance Jio is using a new version of its optical network terminal (ONT) device that is available at a security deposit charge of Rs 2,500. The optical network terminal is a device which is designed to enable voice calls, home broadband, and IPTV via a single connection.

For now, the company is planning and testing a triple play plan which features GigaFiber broadband, Jio Home TV, and Jio Apps under a single monthly package.
