LG ThinQ AI Powered Smart OLED TVs and LCD TVs Launched in India

The South Korean tech giant, LG Electronics has been trying to gain more consumers among all market segments in India. Now with the launch of AI enabled TV range in India on July 16th, LG is aiming at the premium TV segment. The launch included 25 models with screen size ranging from 32 inches to 77 inches. The price starts from Rs. 32,500 for the 32-inch model and goes as high as Rs. 29,49,990 for the 77-inch model.

LG AI ThinQ™ offers an enhanced interactive experience in the company’s new 2018 TV lineup by employing Natural Language Processing (NLP) to deliver intelligent voice-activated control.” The range comes with Active HDR which supports multiple HDR formats such as HDR10 Pro and HLG Pro. Younchul Park, Director-Home Entertainment, LG Electronics India, “Artificial intelligence is definitely the road ahead for all our future products. AI functionality backed up with extensive research is incorporated in televisions with an aim of delivering a unique and more intuitive experience. As a matter of fact, we have taken a step ahead to implement AI function across our range of smart televisions.”

LG ThinQ AI range also includes features such as the ‘Mobile Connection Overlay’ that allows users to view the content of their smartphone and TV simultaneously. The smart TVs also have the Magic Zoom functionality that enlarges live screenings using the Zoom Key on the Magic Remote. The Magic Remote is a universal remote control that can access set-top box, speakers, etc. It also allows the user to operate from any corner.

The LG 2018 TV range supports Dolby Atmos Cinematic Sound, better contrast, 120fps frame rate, true colours and improved noise reduction. They run on LG’s smart webOS that sends notifications of incoming calls and messages. The devices support expandable memory via USB drives.
