OnePlus has released a new alluring colour variant for the users who are fond of something other than white and black. To those who love vibrant colours, Amber Red would be a right fit for them. With this launch, Amber Red has joined the group of OnePlus 6 series accompanied by Mirror Black, Midnight Black, Silk White and OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition versions of the smartphone.

The OnePlus 6 Amber Edition will be set in motion from next week globally but it will be available in India from 16th of July through website portal Amazon.in and on the OnePlus online store with the list price of Rs. 39,999. This handset will have the storage of 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
This is not the first time that OnePlus has unveiled the red colour, earlier it has introduced a red colour variant of the OnePlus 5T tagged as OnePlus 5T Lava Red. To capture the perfect red, OnePlus applied an optical coating, evaporative film, and six panels of glass which has been experienced for the first time. The fingerprint scanner, the buttons and alert slider are also coated with red. They have added an anti-reflective layer to allow more light to reach the bottom layers of glass before being reflected off the device, creating a sense of depth. A translucent orange layer blends with the red base layer to achieve a radiant glossy red making OnePlus unique in its own way.

As far as the launch is concerned, CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, said, “We believe power and attitude can be both elegant and humble, and we have strived to achieve this with the OnePlus 6 Red Edition. We worked to avoid an overly bright red colour while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity. Achieving the amber-like effect took several months to refine and perfect”.
He further added while explaining the design process of the Amber Red variant “In order to achieve an ‘amber-like’ depth and clarity, we used a new film coating process that’s never been attempted before in the smartphone industry. The result is a red that’s more elegant, one that leaves a strong impression of quality and value. In order to maintain a bright coating, the design team included an evaporated layer of brightening film that cost around $5 to make crystal clear. The result is a sizeable glossy, transparent layer over the red coating.”
