The King of budget flagships, OnePlus has been in the news lately for its next upcoming flagship device, the OnePlus 6. The last flagship device by the company, OnePlus 5T was launched in November 2017 and the company is already geared up for the next one. OnePlus 6 is expected to follow the latest trends and is confirmed to have an iPhone X like a notch. Company’s CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that users will be able to hide the notch with software updates after the release, which comes as a boon for all the notch haters out there.
Oneplus 6 will be using some New Material as per the latest update by Oneplus on Twitter. Following the course of history, OnePlus 6 is confirmed to have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which will provide you with “The speed you need”. The device is expected to have 6/8GB RAM variants with the possibility of up to 256GB of internal storage. There might be a base variant having 6GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage. The phone will come with the biggest screen ever put on a OnePlus device without increasing the body size, having a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The display will be an FHD+ super AMOLED screen providing a good user experience.
OnePlus 6 will come with a dual camera setup on the back with 16MP f/1.7 and a 20MP f/1.7 shooter. The battery size is expected to be about 3,450mAh with OnePlus’ new DashCharge v2 technology for fast charging. OnePlus 6 might be the company’s first smartphone with an IP67/68 certification (not confirmed), providing the phone water resistance. OnePlus has also announced a partnership with Marvel Studios to celebrate the 10th anniversary with the upcoming film ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
The pricing of the OnePlus 6 is expected to be slightly higher than the OnePlus 5T. In the recent leaks, the device is rumoured to have the starting price of Rs. 39,999 for the base variant. This new flagship will be the costliest among all its predecessors. Reportedly the phone is expected to launch in India on 18th May or somewhere in the middle of May.
