Panasonic one of the well known old brand in India. Panasonic always comes up with something new their products whether it is under home appliances or under the mobile industry. Recently Panasonic launched their first Air conditioners in India with built-in Air purifier that too in great price. Now, in Mobile industry they came out with their new device under eluga series the eluga ray and eluga Ray x. The new feature which they have added in these phones is ARBO which is an artificial intelligence system. It will initially analyze your work and after few days it will suggest you at what time what thing you are doing all such stuff in detailed way.
So, today we are having Panasonic Eluga Ray with us which is available for Rs. 7,999 at Flipkart as well as in different retail stores.

- Manual
- Screen Guard
- USB Cable
- Charging Brick (1.5amp)
Rest what all you can expect with this price phone.
Design & Built
Panasonic Eluga Ray is available in three colors Grey, Rose Gold and Gold and I personally like the gray one but unfortunately, right now I am reviewing the gold one. Starting with the front part here we get a 5-megapixel shooter beside it a front flash which is good an earpiece, LED Notification and different sensors.
Coming below we get 5” HD Display, which is covered with 2.5D curved glass and no info on adding any protection on it.
Sliding little bit down here we get Back Navigation keys which are customizable by going into the setting panel and below that houses a Home Button, which also act as a fingerprint sensor as well as the button can also be pressed not like we get on Moto and Oppo Devices.
Display
Sunlight legibility is also quite good at auto brightness. I have no complaints regarding the display. Rest we cannot expect much with that price device.
Performance
The Panasonic Eluga Ray comes with MediaTek MTK6737 processor which is paired with Mali-T720 and 3GB RAM. There we get 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.
Rest, Antutu Score is decent not too high not really very low. In Panasonic Eluga Ray we get all the sensors which is required but they have removed Gyroscope sensors which means you cannot use VR in this phone.
One issue which I faced in the UI is the camera app sometime gets laggy while you are recording video and even it get laggy while taking photos, but if you use a third party app to record videos, it works perfectly fine. Even recording videos via third party app give you better clarity with no flickering (Strange but true.)
Camera
Some the effects and filter are those which we cannot even see in high end device this is cool. I am pretty satisfied with the back camera clarity even after that laggy interface. I will suggest panasonic team to work on their camera interface to make it work smooth.
Camera
Software
Overall, the UI is quite good, and the person who love stock then this device is for you. There are some minor bugs, but we can expect those bugs to be fixed by gionee in next coming OTA updates. The unit which I got was not having ARBO installed as it was in beta and brand was saying you will soon get the update. So, i won’t be commenting anything about ARBO (Artificial Intelligence) of the phone.
We also get different option and screenshots for that is being attached over here.
Battery
We do not get any kind of fast charging support and took approx 2 hour to charge from 0% to 100% using a stock charger which we get inside the box.
Verdict
So, according to me if you are an old Panasonic phone and want a phone for decent normal usage with great battery life and decent camera quality.
Pros
- Battery
- Metal Built
- Arbo (Not present as of now)
Cons
- Bit heavy
- Old Processor
- Average Camera
Excellent and honest review Mr.Nisith Kudos… For a 5″ display with 4000mAh battery it should last atleast for 2 days for a moderate user but you mention it will last for just 1 day . I have some doubts to be clarified
1, Other than lagging camera is there any other issues, Did you check the camera lag issue in other eluga phones?
2, 4k mAh battery lasts only for a day (moderate user) i doubt?
3, How easy to handle in one hand as it have small 5″ screen and is it too heavy to handle by ladies?
4, You mentioned there is no fast charging facility but some online reviewers says this phone support fast charging. can you please highlight the spec of charger unit?
5, Is it really 8k rupees worth phone or is there any other better phone available?
Thanks
Excellent mobile in a 5″ display with 4000mAh battery it should last atleast for 2 days for a moderate user but you mention it will last for just 1 day .
