In our day to day usage smartphones have become a very important commodity, brands are looking through different aspects to attract more and more consumers towards their product. Some brands are hardware-focused because of huge online competition and some are focusing only on camera, but there are very few companies that are providing a balanced smartphone that a user can use without any compromise. So, now after a few weeks, we are back with a full dept review of Poco X2 which is one of the best selling smartphones these days.

Design & Built

Now, when it comes to the design and built of Poco X2, the phone comes with a premium-looking glossy finish at the back. The brand has used glass and aluminum material all over, maybe because they wanted to get a better premium finish out of it. The design seems to look more like there other old devices from Xiaomi, except fingerprint sensor placement everything seems to be almost the same. On the front, there is a 6.67″ FHD+ Display panel which looks great.

On the top portion of the phone, you will be getting a Noice cancellation MIC and an IR blaster which means you can control all IR controlled devices by just one Tap on your phone.

Turning around to the down portion, it houses a single speaker grill, besides it, there is a USB Type-C port, a primary mic and a 3.5mm Audio Jack.

Coming to the left side of the phone you will get a Hybrid Sim Tray where weather you can insert two Sim’s at the same time or you can install one sim and one micro SD card as per your requirement that up to 256 GB.

Turning around to the other side of the phone you will get volume rockers and below that power lock key which also has an in-built fingerprint sensor. This placement of the fingerprint sensor seems to be more feasible as per my opinion.

At the front top side, you get a 20 MP primary front-facing camera with a support of 2 MP depth sensors. The front camera which we get on Poco X2 is actually a punch-hole display camera and not a pop-up camera.

At the back panel of the phone, you will be getting quad-camera setup:

  • 64 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (wide), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, PDAF
  • 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm
  • 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), 1/5.0″, 1.75µm
  • 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth)
  • 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps, 720p@960fps; gyro-EIS
  • Dual-LED Flash

Display

Poco X2 comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400. The display colors are more towards blue tint which looks more vivid and dark. But still, the screen is really very great. Watching movies and playing games will give you some great experience. The sunlight legibility of Poco X2 is also very good, while on automatic brightness or on manual brightness you can see the screen easily in direct sunlight. Poco X2 has obtained the Widevine L1 certification. It means that users can enjoy high-resolution content from streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Overall the screen for movies and games and daily use is good.

Performance & Sensors

The Poco X2 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with the support of 6GB RAM / 8GB RAM to get the smooth performance in day to day usage. In my review time I have not seen any lag in their UI. While playing PUBG Mobile, I experienced a smooth rendering even at a higher setting. The game is working with no lag and no frame drops. This time Poco X2 has given UFS 2.1 storage which is much faster than a normal storage memory, which is usually seen in flagship smartphones.

If we take look at its benchmarks, it seems good at that price segment. Xiaomi Poco X2 also packs with almost all the necessary sensors in it. The overall experience is very fast and smooth while using different apps at the same time like Instagram, twitter and camera app.

Camera

Coming to the camera it supports 4k video recording with 30fps. Now starting with the Quad cameras of the Poco X2, it has a 64 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (wide) angle camera which is actually a primary camera, coming to the secondary camera we get an 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm ultrawide camera, now this is not enough for Poco x2, we also get a 2 MP, f/2.4, macro lens for closures and finally, at last, we get a dept sensor for 2 MP, f/2.4 for portrait shots. The daylight photos seem to be quite good but if you switch in the HDR mode they become better, with good color, saturation, and even clarity. Overall the rear camera seems to be decent and macro shots are great. You can also check some sample shots which are being added.

Now coming to the 20MP +2MP front camera, Selfie’s clicked using Poco X2 comes really very great. You will also get a portrait mode in front camera as well. So, I have no complaints with the 20MP selfie camera of Poco X2.

Software

Out of the box, Poco X2 comes up with Android Pie with the skin of MIUI 11 running on top of it. The UI seems to be very smooth and lag-free. There are many new small features like eye protection, power-saving mode, which will help you in day to day usage. As of now you all must be already using MIUI 11 which is another best Skin which we can get on android after Oxygen OS. So, nothing to worry about it. As of now with Poco X2 we are not getting Adware loaded by the brand but you never know when the brand can change there mind.

Battery

This is the another best part of this smartphone, Poco X2 comes up with a massive battery of 4,500mAh battery which lasts really long and it has 27W fast charging technology, fills up this big battery in no time. Poco X2 also supports reverse charging technology and can charge other devices like a mobile power bank.

Thanks to the AI software optimizations, for a moderate user the battery will easily last more than 1 days and if you are very aggressive usage it will easily last you a day. This means you need not to worry about the battery while using the phone, it will last you long. And the best thing is you don’t need to buy 27W fast charger separately, the 27W fast charger will be in the box. Isn’t it Great!

Verdict

Poco X2 is an all-rounder phone in the Mid-Budget 2020. You almost get every premium feature that a normal user desires. From camera to battery to playing games, Poco X2 had covered all for you. If your budget beast then you can go for it.
