Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Smartron is a purely India based company which aspires to become a global brand.It had stepped in the market with the release of Smartron tbook hybrid laptop-tablet in 2016.This time, Smarton has made its comeback by launching its next-generation multifunctional “tbook flex” hyper-laptop. Just like its predecessor, book flex can also be used as a tablet since it has been provided with a detachable keyboard. The notebook will be available exclusively on Flipkart from May 13 midnight.

The Smartron tbook flex comes with 12.2-inch WQXGA display having 2560 x 1600 resolution of 16:10 aspect ratio coupled with multi-touch stylus support functionality and has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic layer. It weighs 950 grams with the additional weight of keyboard. The device in tablet form measures at 307.5 x 202.8 x 9.0 mm.
The tbook flex has an aluminum and magnesium alloy metallic body and there is a flix-stand on the back with a step-less hinge design that can bend up to 150 degrees. It has Orange-Grey and Black-Grey color alternatives. As far as the camera is concerned, it has 5-megapixel rear-facing autofocus and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter along with the dual mic. The Smartron tbook flex runs on Windows 10 and its sensors include Hall and Accelerometer.

The connectivity options onboard the device comprises of two full-size USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port for charging with USB 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, and magnetic pogo pin for external keyboard support. It also sports a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and Wi-Fi Direct. It has been provided with a detachable backlit keyboard that has 4.0 Bluetooth connectivity and 40Whr Lithium-ion Polymer battery.
The device is powered either by 7th Generation Intel Core m3 processor (1.00 GHz up to 2.60 GHz) or by a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 (1.20 GHz up to 3.20 GHz). Both the variants of the tbook Flex have an Integrated Intel HD Graphics 615, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB of SSD storage which is expandable through SD card. The cost of Core m3 and Core i5 version is Rs. 42,990 and Rs. 52,990 respectively.
