Space X plans to launch first commercial flight in 2021 1

Space X has been constructing its starship test vehicle since a very long time. Finally in April, Space X completed its test firings and short hops. Now as per the latest news the company executives says that the first commercial mission for SpaceX’s starship and Super Heavy launch system will probably take place in 2021.

According to the Space X, the launch system is known as Big Falcon Rocket or BFR and its upper stage was renamed to Starship and its rocket booster to Super Heavy. Both these competing builds are still under construction and it is expected that the final spacecraft will combine the best solutions that these two teams can come up with. The final spacecraft is capable enough to carry 20 metric tons to geostationary orbit and over 100 metric tons to low Earth orbit. The launch system is also equipped with a nine-meter payload fairing, which helps in carrying crew and resources to the Moon and Mars. Apart from this, Super Heavy booster when combined with Starship upper stage makes the SpaceX’s next vehicle to send satellite into orbit around Earth and elsewhere.

In order to make sure that the launch system serves its purpose, Space X has decided to put the launch system through more careful testing. By doing more hop tests, the company aims “to get orbital as quickly as possible, potentially even this year, with the full stack operational by the end of next year and then customers in early 2021.”
