Primary camera: The primary camera is the basic camera with the same OIS (optical image stabilization) or PDAF (Phase detection auto focus) or CMOS sensor. They produce the same RGB image, which can be captured by any other camera.

Secondary camera: The secondary camera is an extension to the primary camera. This camera lens is specifically designed to capture those wide angle shots and extra light or details that may have been forgetting by the primary camera. Now, some of the manufacturers are calling this a monochromatic lens, for example, Huawei. Huawei told that the secondary camera in the P9 is a monochromatic lens, which captures only black and white imagery.

Now, the extracted image is combined and synthesis with the original image by the software and the sensor. And the resultant image is simply extraordinary.
