TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb – Design and Build

TP-Link-sart-Bulb-Converter-Techniblogic

TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs have built-in Wi-Fi as many other electronic systems which makes it a bit heavier when we compare any other ordinary bulb available in the market. Best thing is that it has E27 (Edison screw) which don’t make it fall easily from the lamp. The package also comes with B22 to E27 adapter using which you can connect this bulb with any B22 holder available at your place. Overall the built of the bulb is good and you won’t see any issue with the design, built and quality of the smart bulb.

We are having LB130 which is a multi-color LED bulb which is the top end bulb from TP-Link in the market. It can be connected to the router, used with your Alexa devices as well as can be controlled via google assistance. This High Quality LED smart bulb gives you the brightness level of 800 lumens which is really good when we compare with other available smart bulbs in the market. The power consumption of this bulb is 11w. This model can tune the temperature between 2500K and 6500K, but it’s also an RGB bulb, letting you pick practically any color from the application.

TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb – Features and Application

You need to install an application in your smartphone which is Kasa app (Android or iOS), After that just plug on the bulb it will blink three times and you will be able to search the bulb on your application. Just connect it with your Wi-Fi network which should be 2.4Ghz as 5GHz band won’t work with it. Once done you are ready to go to control the smart bulb with your smartphone. You can even control the same bulb with multiple devices but for that, you need same login ID and Password for every device in Kasa Application.

The only issue which I noticed is that if you are in a low wifi range area then it took some time to connect and many time it won’t connect. This is a normal problem which is caused even by your smartphone. This means you need a good range of the network to make it work properly in your area.

To get into more options you need to tap on the bulb icon in the application and from there you would be able to set the color temperature as well as you can set different colors according to your usage. You can even schedule different lighting condition as per your time. One more thing which I was able to find on TP-Link smart bulb is rhythm mode. This mode automatically adjusts a bulb’s brightness and color temperature to match the time of day. This feature is not available till now in any other smart bulb available in Indian Market.

TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulb –  Connecting with Alexa and Google Assistance

TP-Link can be controlled using your Alexa home device and even with your google Assistance. You just need to go in the following application and link the Kasa Application account with it. Once done you will be able to control all your lights with just your voice. You can even change the color of the light by your voice command. One command which I was unable to find is how to DIM the light brightness with your voice command. Hope TP-Link team will add this command in a new upcoming software update.

Verdict

Overall if you want a smart bulb that can be controlled by your voice, as well as AI feature enabled in it then this one is meant for you.

Pros

  • Plug and Play
  • Easy-to-use Application
  • Rhythm mode
  • Quality

Cons

  • Bit Pricey
  • Bit Heavy
  • Wi-Fi strength can be increased
