TRANSSION Holdings – Fifth Largest Mobile Handset Player in India

Transsion Holdings is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer. It is best-known in emerging markets for its leading mobile phone brands which include TECNO, iTel, Infinix and Spice. The Chinese conglomerate also comprises oraimo for smart accessories, Syinix for home appliances and Carlcare for after-sales service. It has more than 10,000 employees with a global sales network covering more than 50 countries and regions in Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Latin America. It also has a good strong partnership with world-renowned enterprises like Google, Facebook, Intel, Sony, Microsoft, MediaTek, Orange, Qualcomm and many more.

Transsion Holdings is the largest smartphone company by sales in Africa. It has been trying to achieve the same in India with the launch of iTel in April 2016 in India. Transsion has emerged as the fifth largest player in the mobile phone industry according to a report by Counterpoint Research on India’s Mobile Phone market for Q1 2018.

Transsion Holdings has a deep distribution network of 1.05 lakh retailers and over 3000 channel partners inside India. Transsion holds 4% market share in Q1 2018 in India and iTel remains strong in the feature phone segment with 17%(YoY) growth by volume whereas TECNO registered a growth of 23% (QoQ). Transsion hopes to remain in the leading companies in India and will continue to expand and engage better in 2018 as well.
