Vivo launched the most awaited Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition, the successor of Vivo NEX. The USP of the device is its dual display and a rear triple camera setup. NEX Dual Display Edition offers a revolutionary dual-screen design with an unconventional smartphone experience. The primary display comes with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED bezel-less screen with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. The screen comes with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and a high screen-to-body ratio of 91.63%. The secondary display has a 5.49-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9.

The device sports a triple camera setup consisting a 12MP main camera with a f/1.79 aperture (featuring a Sony IMX363 sensor and 4-axis OIS), a 2MP “Night Video” secondary camera with f/1.8 aperture and the innovative TOF (time of flight) 3D camera which will be mainly used for advanced Face Unlock feature.

The triple camera setup enables a user for capturing beautiful moments and taking selfies from any angle. With the Night Video Camera, the user can film clear and stable footage even in motion and low-light environments, while the TOF 3D camera has a 3D sensing capability which enable point-to-point distance measuring. It also supports 3D Modeling of the user’s face for enhanced facial recognition, protection and personalized beautification. The Mirror Mode and Pose Director feature to maximize the functionality of the Dual Display. The two main sensors are circled by a LED “Lunar ring” which illuminates in camera ticking, gameplay, and a couple of other occasions.

Under the hood, the NEX Dual Display Edition is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 10GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device runs on FunTouch OS 4.5 based on Android 9.0 Pie and support from Vivo’s JOVI voice assistant. The handset is driven by a 3,500 mAh battery with support for 2.25A 10V fast charging. The smartphone comes in Star Purple and Ice Field colour variants.

The Vivo Nex Dual Edition is priced at 4,998 Yuan (Rs 52,000 approx) and will go on sale in China from December 29. The company has not given any word on the global release date.
