On Friday, Acer introduced the Swift Edge 16. The laptop’s AMD Ryzen 7040 series CPUs power its slim, lightweight chassis. AMD Ryzen AI is included in certain models for enhanced performance and other AI functions. A new Acer Predator Triton 16 model and the company’s first eco-friendly Wi-Fi 6E mesh router manufactured from post-consumer recycled (PCR) material were also introduced. It also revealed a set of new resources for SpatialLabs Developers to use in creating and improving stereoscopic 3D content.
Acer Swift Edge 16 Features and Specs
The Acer Swift Edge 16 has an OLED display with a resolution of 16 inches (or 3.2K) with a refresh rate of 120 hertz, support for a 100 per cent colour gamut, a reaction time of 0.2 milliseconds, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
It uses up to an AMD Radeon 780M GPU and is powered by AMD Ryzen 7040 series CPUs with AMD Ryzen AI on certain versions. It may have as much as 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and as much as a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD installed. Microsoft’s Pluton and Windows Hello are included in the encrypted core. Windows 11 is already installed on the device.
The laptop’s keyboard is full-size and includes a number pad. It’s compatible with Windows Studio Effects and has a cooling system called TwinAir, which includes a fan upgrade and keyboard vents. It also has the AI-powered noise reduction capabilities of Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) and Acer Purified Voice. The camera supports 1440p QHD resolution and has sophisticated features, including auto-focus, gaze correction, and background blur.
The Swift Edge 16 notebook from Acer has a Wi-Fi 7 connection with speeds of up to 5.8Gbps and multi-link compatibility. It also has one HDMI 2.1 connector, two USB 4 Type-C PD 65W connections that facilitate rapid charging, one microSD card reader, and two USB Type-A ports. It has a thickness of 12.95mm and a weight of 1.23kg.
Acer Swift Edge 16 Price and Availability
The Acer Swift Edge 16 will be on sale in some regions in July, the company has revealed. The laptop will be sold for $1,299.99 in North America (about Rs. 1,07,300) and EUR 1,199 in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (approximately Rs. 99,000). The chassis of the Acer Swift Edge 16 may be purchased in black.
