watchOS 10 for Apple Watch Includes Widgets, Watch Faces, Mental Health Tracking

At today’s WWDC, Apple introduced watchOS 10, its newest wearable operating system. New watch faces, updated applications, and a Smart Stack for displaying widgets are all part of watchOS’s newest release. Metrics and Workout Views have been expanded. In addition, the Apple Watch may be automatically paired with other Bluetooth-enabled cycling equipment including power meters, speed sensors, and cadence sensors. The new Maps features in watchOS 10 allow hikers to see routes and trailhead information without ever taking their watch off their wrist. The newest version for Apple Watch also includes enhancements for monitoring your emotional state. Today, developers may get their hands on the beta version of watchOS 10, with a public release coming for later this autumn.

watchOS 10’s rethought user interface and app layout make it easier than ever to find what you need, when you need it. Many Apple Watch applications, including Weather, Stocks, Home, Maps, Messages, and World Clock, now make more use of the watch’s screen. To better track user activity, Apple has updated the Fitness app on the iPhone and the Activity app on the Apple Watch.

While watchOS 10 does have Widgets, they will be accessible through a Smart Stack rather than the main screen. Users may access the widget stack by turning the digital crown and then scrolling through the available options. A double-click of the Digital Crown takes you back to the most recently used app, while the side button may be used to open the Control Center. This update brings two new watch faces to Apple’s wearable: Palette and Snoopy. The previous present period in three overlapping layers of color.

watchOS 10 expands Apple Watch’s riding capabilities, making it more appealing to cyclists. The iPhone user may see the riding session as a Live Activity. In addition, Apple has tailored Workout Views specifically for the iPhone’s screen. With the newest version, Apple Watch can pair wirelessly with power meters, speed sensors, and cadence sensors that use Bluetooth Low Energy.

Even hikers may benefit from Apple’s recent updates. With watchOS 10, you’ll be able to see the approximate location of the last time your device was connected to a cellular network by glancing at the Last Cellular Connection Waypoint and the Last Emergency Call Waypoint. Topographic features like as contour lines, hill shading, elevation data, and sites of interest will soon be included in Apple Maps’ presentation of the United States. The location of trails and trailheads may be found by the user.

Apple’s WatchOS 10 is the first version of the software to include users’ emotional health. Users of the most up-to-date software may keep track of their fleeting feelings and general disposition with the help of the Mindfulness app. The Digital Crown has a variety of forms that users may scroll through to express their emotions.

Meanwhile, thanks to the addition of an ambient light sensor, Apple Watch can now keep track of how much time is spent outside throughout the day. The Health app on the iPhone or iPad will display this information. The Apple Watch may be easily paired with an adult’s iPhone using the Family Setup feature.

In addition to iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and watchOS 10, tvOS 17 was also released by Apple today. The newest update allows you to use FaceTime on your Apple TV. It supports Dolby Vision 8.1 and has a redesigned Control Center. In tvOS 17, the FaceTime app for Apple TV 4K allows users to make calls from the Apple TV itself, or to begin calls on an iOS device and transfer them to the Apple TV.
