Asus which is well known brand in India as well as globally. We have already reviewed so many devices from asus and take my words the designs of their phones are really awesome. They have worked really very hard on their built and battery optimization.

Now, Asus is here with there new budget device in India Asus Zenfone Live. The phone is available at Rs. 9,999 and will be available on flipkart as well as in offline market. Design & Built

Asus Zenfone Live is available in three colors Pink, Gold and Navy Black and personally i like navy black one but unfortunately i get a golden one as color choice is always personal we cannot recommend color to anyone. Rest color choice is a never ending discussion. Starting with the front part here we get a 5-megapixel shooter beside a front flash, an earpiece, LED Notification and different sensors.

Coming below we get 5” HD Display, which is covered with 2.5D curved glass which gives additional looks to the phone and rest no info on adding any extra protection on it.

Sliding little bit down here we get Back capacitive keys which are printed like we see in other Asus device and don’t light up in night. We don’t get any Fingerprint sensor in the phone which might be a drawback for few of the users.

Coming to the bottom portion of the phone here we get a Micro USB port, beside it a primary MIC and Speaker which is properly crafted in the body, placement looks really nice. The Phone is not having fast charging and only support normal 1A charging.

Turning to the top we get a 3.5mm audio jack and nothing much which need to be mentioned over here.

Turning to left side we get Hybrid Sim tray Slot which can support dual sim or single sim + Micro SD Card that to up to 256GB.

Turning the phone around to the right side we get power lock key and volume rockers which gives quite good haptik feel while you press them. One thing i wanna add is, volume and power buttons are made up of metal and has patterned feel on them which make it feel more premium in that price.

Finally coming to the back panel of the phone here we get 13-megapixel camera below that a Single LED flash, metallic Asus branding and antenna lines. The back panel we get here is non removable.

Display

Here we get a 5” HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it and no extra protection of gorilla glass is present. The 2.5D curved Display makes the device look way better. The 2.5 curve glass also gives you better touch experience when we compare a phone with normal display. We get the resolution of 720 x 1280. The colors are vibrant and dark. Even after having HD display it seems to quite good. We get high brightness and still it won’t fade away all the colors of the phone. Playing games and watching movies looks quite good.

Sunlight legibility is also quite good at auto brightness. I have no complaints regarding the display. Rest we cannot expect much with that price device.

Performance

The Asus Zenfone Live comes with Snapdragon 410 processor which is paired with Adreno 306 and 2GB RAM. There we get 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 256GB using a microSD card slot.

Even the device it has a bit old processor, it can some handle all graphic intensive games quite easily. I tried playing different games such as GTA San Andreas, Bully, Batman, Nova Legacy and GTA, Bully, were working well with no lag but playing Nova 3 and asphalt 8 at high graphic give me little bit frame drops. The device is for normal gaming and I won’t suggest gamers to get this one, normal gaming on regular basis will work well with no issue. All new games will work well. Asphalt Extreme was working fine on High graphics, so sometime it also depend on games program code, which make it work on different devices.

Rest, Antutu Score is decent not too high not really very low. In Asus Zenfone Live we get all the sensors which is required but they have removed Gyroscope sensors which means you cannot use VR in this phone.

Overall with this processor is decent and it would be great if they have installed 3GB Ram in it for increased multitasking.

Camera

Starting Asus Zenfone Live Camera, here we get 13-megapixel back camera with Single LED flash which allows you to take decent images and sometimes some great images in great light. Here we get almost all kind of effects and filters which a person need.

Camera Review Coming soon on Channel So Stay Subscribed

I am pretty satisfied with the back camera clarity. The camera UI is great as always because we also get the support of manual camera with manual focus not removed like other brands do with their phones UI.

Coming to the front camera, here we get a 5-megapixel shooter with added ‘face beauty’ mode, which allows you to smoother your skin tone, removing wrinkles, slimming down your face and much more. The camera UI is very simple and easy to use, but too laggy too. The Main Highlight of the phone is to do Live Videos on your social media accounts like facebook, instagram and YouTube directly by the camera app that too in Beauty mode. It works quite well. It is world’s first phone to have live video beautification mode. This is not the end Asus has also added dual memes Microphones in the phone using which even if you are doing live broadcast the audio recorded using your phone will be loud, crisp and clear.

Software

Asus-zenfone-live-ui-techniblogic

Asus Zenfone Live is loaded with Android Marshmallow 6.0 with a skin of ZenUI 3.0. The device is soon going  to get the update of Android 7.0 as per the brand. The software of Zenfone Live is quite well optimized, in terms of battery but even after removing so much bloatware, Asus still has so many applications which cannot be removed. Asus has also packed with a ‘Mobile Manager” in their ZenUI which gives you more information on how much data you have used, power saving modes, notifications and privacy.

One thing i forget to mention over here is that, you will also get 100GB storage free google drive storage with the device for one year as a promotion by Asus while booting the device for the first time.

Battery

Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 2650 mAh battery. On moderate usage, the smartphone will easily last you a full day on a single charge. The battery works quite well for this device because of better software optimization. You can watch 2 to 3 movies continuously on the phone.  Rest no complains with the battery because the device only weight you 116 grams as per my weight scale. There we also get some energy saving modes which will further optimize your battery life.

We do not get any kind of fast charging support and took approx 1 hour 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% using a stock charger which we get inside the box.

Verdict

Overall, the device is meant for Live Videos that too in Beautification mode, another thing which i love is, its weight and how much handy it is. Lets check its pros and cons:

Pros

  • Very Light Weight (Appreciated)
  • Smooth UI
  • Decent Camera
  • New and Elegant Design
  • Live Streaming work well with beauty mode.

Cons

  • Little bit low battery
  • Price is on little bit higher side
  • No Fingerprint sensor
