IESA hosts Nationwide Makeathon to encourage innovation in the ESDM industry

IESA the Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association, which represent the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) has announced the winner of the long overdue event the IESA Nationwide Makeathon 2018 in New Delhi. Three winners were chosen, Sanjay Prakash and Naveen Kumar’s project came first. The team also received a cash price of 1 lakh INR. First and second runners-up were awarded a cash price of 70,000 INR and 30,000 INR.

“It is great to experience the passion and efforts of entrepreneurs; they are very excited to have a platform to share their ideas. Our collaborations with industry partners also provide the right mentorship to grow. Through initiatives like these, our aim is to foster better partnerships for the growth and development of the entire industry,” Said Mr. Anil Kumar Muniswamy, Chairman, IESA.

As we all are aware that IESA Makeathon is an initiative that promotes innovation in an electronics system. They rolled out a pan-India challenge in July 2018 that gathered a lot of tech entrepreneurs to develop products that will help resolve urban challenges in the different region including, Agri Tech, Water Management, Urban Traffic, Smart Cars, Robotics, Education, Waste Management, Security, Health, Smart Communication Devices etc. As for finals, 19 teams were shortlisted and around 1500 applications were received and at the end, the shortlisted teams were invited to display the prototype of the products at IESA Makethon finale in New Delhi.

It is our endeavor to build a platform to nurture 1,000 such product innovations in the ESDM (Electronic System Design & Manufacturing) space. Initiatives such as these Makeathon support entrepreneurs with industry mentors, and in converting their ideas to realizable products and solutions. I would like to thank all our partners for making this event a success and look forward to building a vibrant ecosystem supporting large-scale entrepreneurship in the ESDM sector.”

And one thing more, IESA Vision Summit 2019 is also coming in Feb. 2019. IESA Vision Summit 2019 is a very impactful ESDM event in South-ASIA and is a great platform for businesses to envisage future & drive initiatives/policies of Industry and Government to succeed in the process of ‘Think Global but do local, our own ‘Make in India’. That’s all for this guys, stay tuned for the next update.
