The Republic Of Gamers (ROG) arm of Asus announced a trio of gaming laptops in their Strix series. The Strix series includes two variants of Asus ROG Strix SCAR Edition and one of Hero Edition. All these devices share a large number of features such as the same Intel 7th Generation Core i7-7700HQ processor at 2.8 GHz (Turbo up to 3.8 GHz), a 16GB DDR4 2400MHz SDRAM and 256 GB of NVMe PCIe SSD coupled with 1 TB FireCuda SSHD. The Asus ROG Strix Hero edition is focused more for MOBA gamers and the SCAR editions focus on FPS gamers.
The Asus ROG Strix Hero Edition packs a massive 6 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1060 graphics for amazing on-screen action available at a starting price of Rs. 1,49,990. It features a 15.6-inch wide view IPS level display with extreme 178° viewing angles and 100% sRGB gamut with 120Hz refresh rate.
The two variants in the Asus ROG Strix SCAR Edition differ in built-in G-SYNC support refresh rate. One of the devices features a 120Hz refresh rate with a 5ms response time and other features a 144Hz panel display. Both sport a 15.6-inch display and their price start from Rs. 1,54,990. They will pack 6GB GTX 1060 or 8GB GTX 1070 DDR5 graphics with at least 256GB of PCIe SSD storage.
All these gaming beasts employ the latest 802.11ac 2×2 Wi-Fi standard which uses two antennas for transmission and reception, providing the uninterrupted and fast user experience. The keyboard sports a special HyperStrike Pro technology for decisive command and control. The keyboard has specially-lit WASD keys for SCAR Edition and QWER keys for Hero Edition, with N-key rollover technology. These laptops are just 2.3 cm thin and weigh approximately 2.5 kg. They come with Windows 10 Home and also feature a special HyperCool Pro technology for high, better and stable gaming experience.
