Here’s Why PHP Developers Have a Crush on Drupal- Top Reasons to Explore

0

Drupal has been infatuating developers because of its core structure and taxonomies which make the CMS a choice for Enterprise-level websites and web applications. Drupal 8 is an entirely re-written version of Drupal 7 which was launched in 2011. This updated version will include all those functionalities that will make the task of developers simplified and advanced. Listed below are a few highlights which are set to have Drupal steamrolling the competition.

Symfony

PHP developers are excited that Drupal 8 has a new object-oriented framework with Symfony components. Symfony is often defined as an MVC framework. Although Symfony shares some of the components of MVC pattern as layer and separation- the main goal is to return a response in an optimized and effective way. Symfony 2, one of the largest and active communities in PHP world, is being used by other popular CMS including Drupal. The emergence of Drupal 8 comes altogether to embrace modern PHP development and take advantage of new PHP improvements provided by latest versions of PHP and Symfony. This framework enables developers to build custom web-based applications.

PHP Specification Request (PSR)

It is a coding standard adopted by modern enterprise frameworks such as Symfony 2 to maintain PHP coding consistency. Drupal 8 implements the PSR-4 standard for package based PHP namespace autoloading by PHP Framework Interoperability group. Writing clean code is always helpful if you follow a widely accepted coding standard. It also allows making the PHP code an open-source one for easier process. To make the process better, PHP code sniffer is used and integrated with your IDE for code evaluation while you type.

Introduction of Composer Manager

Composer is a tool which is used for managing dependencies in PHP. It announces dependent libraries needed in your project and installs them directly in your site or web application. As a part of Drupal 8’s effort to embrace contributions from wider PHP community, it needs a stable way of working with outside libraries in a fashion that does not interfere with that of other systems.

Community

The Drupal’ s user community has increased multifold over the past few years. More and more features and plugins are being added to make this system even more efficient. Moreover, the Drupal community forum enables the users to communicate and resolve various issues related to Drupal.

Multilingual Ready

Drupal 8 boasts extensive multilingual features that add wings to Drupal-powered website development. The admin interface has built-in translations. Pages can be created with language based view filtering and block visibility. Translations updates from the community are also facilitated. It improves the multilingual functionality by adding more configurations, thereby simplifying the task for the developers. Users can now have an easier time working with content and integrate a language they want without hassle.

Drupal ’s Content Translation Feature

The two plugins have been rolled out by the community to enhance Drupal core capabilities. These modules provide taxonomy translation, multilingual variables & blocks, and language selection.

Theming

The new version 8 also brings new functionality to theming. The Twig, a templating engine exceeds the expectation of Drupal theme developers. It facilitates them to create secure, fast and flexible websites effortlessly. The themes are much safer as the sandboxing features and automated output escaping are built-in to the system. Further, the twig compiles the templates to optimize PHP code and one may implement their own language constructs (tags, functions, filters, and operations).

Next level Configuration

Drupal 7 struggled with separating content and configuration, which makes it difficult to synchronize your setup across multiple environments. Drupal 8 enables you to store all configuration in your repository. Next to that, the new configuration manager gives you the ability to build development.

Object Oriented Programming

Drupal 8 allows developers to actively track any changes, put the entire configuration under version control and update a production site cleanly. This new version comes with a modern Object Oriented Programming (OOP) which provides developers with a lot of flexibility to change the way system performs or behaves. This makes it easier for PHP developers to jump into Drupal.

Conclusion

Drupal enables continuous digital innovation and is enterprise-ready for the world’s busiest websites. With the major advancements made, Drupal will scale with your business and your brands for next generation digital transformation and will allow you to evolve down the road without skipping a beat. The improvements made will allow developers easily experiment with new challenges coming in the way.

WordPress SEO Part II – The Advanced Basics

2

In terms of the SEO benefits, WordPress is deemed the cream of the crop. This is largely due to the fact that it is a well optimized platform in its own right, allowing the indexing of every single page on your website. Yet, optimization is a lengthy process with peaks and valleys that can put off inexperienced adventurers. One cannot afford to cut corners, as there is no such thing as a shortcut here: A holistic approach to SEO requires you to infuse it in all digital marketing and PR efforts. We have already covered some strong points of this tool, and now proceed to analyze other aces up its sleeve.

A fine line

Now, WordPress can be intimidating to newcomers, but it also involves some no-brainers like optimizing the titles for SEO. Namely, the titles of the page’s title tags are one of the most prominent factors affecting the visibility in search results. They represent the title of the tab or browser window, and the first line someone sees in queries. So, a bulk of blogs tailors the titles so that they are comprised of blog title, archive and keyword-rich post title. As for the order of appearance, one should remember that search engines value early keywords more, preferably near the start of the page.

Moreover, people viewing pages will first notice those early words as well. Those who possess little experience of this aspect of good SEO can take advantage of various plugins that integrate SEO section in the admin. They make Title Templates available for each post type and taxonomy. There are also many variables in title and meta descriptions one must grasp, and steering clear of duplicate site is highly advisable. Once you get a hold of these steps, you may continue optimizing individual posts and pages.
title tag

Key to the land of plenty

Here, special attention must be devoted to meta descriptions. The search engines can use them to show in the snippet (black text beneath the URL), and they are also put into play when they contain the keywords the user was looking for. Note that some plugins put the first, introductory sentence of the post in the meta description, although this is not the most prudent choice. Therefore, webmasters should strive to always forge hand-written descriptions, the only good ones there are.

Ultimately, they must incline the people to click and give them a good idea of what they can expect once they arrive at the landing page. When it comes to meta keywords, the situation is clear. Search engines do not treat them as ranking factors, so they are of very little value to you. Feel free to avoid them altogether and focus on things that will actually help move up in the online realm.

The image of success

It is not wise to overlook image optimization, for visuals play a big role in the world of SEO. Here, I do not mean just the image quality, but things like writing solid alt tags and naming the files. This ensures that you witness more traffic from image search engines. The list of solutions for boosting your online presence goes on: one can change the permalink structure, for example, because the default one is not particularly revealing. It is best to include a post name and/or category name, just note that the WordPress will no longer handle all the redirects for you.
alt tag
Furthermore, try to stay on top of rising trends in the app market. The good news is that the rapid developments in this area have enabled small businesses with limited technical and virtually no coding knowledge to harness the power of applications. They can opt for a customized mobile app builder, which allows users to utilize pre-made templates or start from scratch when creating native iOS, Android, or mobile websites. Integrating the website with app functionalities is an absolute must in order to drive more traffic.

Finally, there are many activities that can prove to be tedious, and one of them is eliminating stop words such as “a”, “the”, “and”, etc.  Fortunately, killer plugins automatically remove them from the slugs once the post is saved and spare you those long, unsightly URLs. Another benefit is that the ordeal of modifying after the post goes live is avoided altogether. If the permalink must be changed, however, then the post must be redirected manually. Just remember to make good use of XML maps to notify Google about changes made to the websites.

Into the future

Webmasters have no better tool than SEO to maximize the incredible potential of WordPress and let their online presence fully shine. The most popular content management system on the globe will not leave you disappointed, provided that you invest time and resources in it. Powering numerous blogs and websites, it is considered future-proof, similar to the practice of SEO. Nevertheless, the only constant thing here is change, so do not fall behind on latest novelties and updates that search engines launch from time to time, causing much stir in the online community.

Website Design Tips to launch your Startup Successfully

Are you a newbie in the market? Are you still figuring out your first baby steps to establish yourself as a brand? It is very true that the establishment of startups takes quite a lot of time and effort. At the same time, it is also very important for you to make your presence felt once you are ready to launch.

The world of digital marketing is always shifting with different brands and their voices. It is often tough to make a lasting mark. However, it is not impossible. Do you know what people are looking for when they learn about your brand?Frankly, my experience in the field of digital marketing says that whenever we want to know about a brand, no matter if it is old or new, the modern man (and woman) immediately evaluate their online presence. Being a new brand it is important for you to make your online presence felt. For that, it all starts with an excellent website to drive your fans and customers to.

The development of the corporate world in Portland is in its prime time now. There are numerous startups that are blooming up everywhere in the city. Some of them are making their mark, some are fading away. One of the common reasons certain businesses loses their luster is from incorrectly designing and developing the website. So, when you are looking for a company for website design in Portland to build your base, here are some tips for you—

Keep it Simple

The first thing is to keep the whole design simple. You may think that the flashy colors, blinking buttons, enormous content or lots of information can be useful, but honestly, that can be the reason of driving people away from your website. It is better to stick to the basics. Make sure the information that users are getting is relevant but doesn’t overwhelm them. Moreover, it is important to make the navigation as easy as possible.

Make it Responsive

Studies show that the users often visit different sites from their mobile devices. Those days are long gone when the users used to only sit in front of a computer and browse from their desktop. Everything is mobile now, and your business needs to be able to serve customers on the go. That is why it is important to make your website responsive so that it can be easily accessed from phones or tablets. This also increases your Google ranking, leading to more organic traffic and ultimately more sales.

Establish Brand Value

For a startup, it is always important to make a notable statement. Remember, it is the logo and the website that will speak for your brand. Your website should be able to create a positive and accurate impression that can contribute to the growth of your brand. The brand logo should be perfectly designed to inspire the brand recall. Along with that, don’t limit the brand statement at the corner of the website with the logo only. This statement should be clearly visible from every corner of your website.

Create a List of the Offerings

Don’t baffle your visitors once they land on your website. It is important to have a list of the offerings or the available services on your website. Let the visitor know what you are offering right away! It will not only increase the chances of relevant visitors to the website but also help to decrease the bounce rate for the website.

While consulting an expert for design and development of the website, it is important to keep these points in mind. They will definitely help you in a long run as your enjoy your success!

What is CPU? Why it is important in your Smartphone?

Are you going to buy a smartphone or you have a phone but you don’t know what’s Inside your Smartphone ? dual-core, quad-core, octa-core, Snapdragon, Mediatek what exactly are these? So let’s figure out.

What’s a CPU?

A CPU is a single computing component with two or more independent actual processing unit called “cores”, which are the units that read and execute program instruction. The instructions are ordinary CPU instructions but the multiple cores can run multiple instructions at the same time. Manufacturers typically integrate the cores onto a single integrated circuit which we know as processor.

arm_chip_explainer_teaser_super
via androidauthority.net

Basically, a processor executes what you want your smartphone to do. behind that amazing touchscreen display is a full-fledged computer, responsible for telling your apps how to function, your GPS how to get you home and many more things. The processor is the brains of the operation.

Understanding Multiple Cores

As we know a core is a single processing unit, which executes the task or a process. Now it’s true the more core you have the more task or process your phone will do. Aftermath, apps load quickly, a better multitasking, you can capture high-quality photos or HD video and then browse through your collection without pause. Games don’t get bogged down.

multi-core-sharp-architecture
via syprisresearch.com

All chips being used in smartphones like Android, Windows Phone and Apple devices-are designed by ARM. So ARM processors form the basis of every phone. The entire system is placed on a single chip, popularly known as SoC (System on Chip). ARM has come out with different designs like the Cortex A5, A7, A8, A9 and A15. According to experts, each chip is better than its predecessor. For instance, the single-core A9 chip will dominate the A8.

Are these factor enough?

megahertz and gigahertz
via recombu.com

Probably not, having a multiple core processor is not enough, and then the clock speed comes in. A clock speed which is basically measured in MHz (megahertz) or GHz (gigahertz). The higher the number of cores and the higher the clock speed can result a more powerful and much faster smartphone. But there might be an exception, a 2 ghz quad-core cpu will deliver a far better performance than the 1 ghz octa-core cpu will. Even if it has eight core it will not match in front of the quad-core processor, just because of the clock speed. The google nexus 5 is a best example for this.

Conclusion

Now you know what makes a processor a good processor. A high-end processor means a high-end processing which basically stands for heavy gaming and multitasking. Some of you might not need that kind of high-end feature, maybe the work you’ll do in your smartphone can be easily taken care off by the smaller processor. Maybe the apps you use will never fully utilize the processor. It is more like buying a Gaming PC and using it for web browsing, I’m sure you’ll have a super fast app working but the overall use of the PC is redundant because you can do that same work in less high end computer. So, please don’t go out there and buy that high end phone just because its new.

Coming to the HTC 10 it is having a full metal built design and the biggest attraction on it are its broad chamfered edges which give it a unique look and feel. Coming to the overall design of the device, on the front, you can find a 5MP camera which also has an auto-focus feature in it. Beside it, you can find an earpiece and different sensors which are very useful.

htc-10-techniblogic-front-cameraComing down you will get a 5.2-Inch, 2K S-LCD Display which is also having a Gorilla glass 4 protection on it, which makes the device safe from scratches. Moving further down you will get a home button as well as a back capacitive button and an all in one integrated fingerprint sensor in it. All these things in a single module, now this is what we say is the innovation. just touch the button you will move back like we see on Meizu devices. Just click the button you will move to the home button and that same module is a fingerprint sensor as well.
