Western Digital launched My Passport HDD with up to 5TB storage in India

As per the recent research conducted by Western Digital in November 2019, it is clear that in India, one out of four PC users has lost their content or stored data. The research also states that 84% of the PC users blamed that the reason for lost data is either a virus attack, system crash, or a forgotten password.

Here are the few major highlights of the research report:

  1. 42% of the respondents cited the paucity of time and the tediousness of the data backup process as the key deterrents for backing up their content.
  2. 24% of females and 18% of the 36-45 age group backup their data.

However, looking after this sort of consumer behavior, the Western Digital, a leader in data infrastructure, has introduced its newest, My Passportâ„¢, its slimmest 5TB** portable hard drive, in the Indian market.

Features of the latest My Passport hard drive:

  1. The hard drive is up to 30% smaller than its predecessor and offers much higher capacity
  2. It is a portable device and fits in the palm of a hand
  3. The hard drive has space to store, organize and share a tremendous amount of photos, videos, music and documents
  4. The My Passport drive comes equipped with WD Backup software to help make sure that photos, videos, music, and documents don’t get lost.
  5. The My Passport drive is formatted for Windows® 10 and features a USB 3.0 connector that is compatible with USB 2.0.
  6. The My Passport for Mac drive is formatted for macOS and has a USB-Câ„¢ connector to deliver plug-and-play storage out of the box.

Mr. Khalid Wani, Direct Channel Sales, Western Digital India said that nowadays people are fond of storage devices that match their lifestyle: compact, snazzy, yet reliable. And hence, in order to meet the demands of the consumers, the company keeps on designing innovating and introducing attractive products for them. He further added that new My Passport addresses consumers concerns and offers automatic back up, where a user can just pick the time and frequency to back up important files from their system onto their My Passport drive.

Price and Availability:

The My Passport drive is available at just Rs. 4499 for 1TB and the drive is priced for Rs. 1099 for 5 TB. This award winning drive is available at all popular e-commerce sites.
