Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Launched with 48MP

Redmi is now officially a sub brand of Xiaomi that has now announced another device in their Note series of mobile phones. The new Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro have been officially launched in China where the company announced that the Redmi will work as an independent brand from Xiaomi. These new devices differ from its predecessors in the Note series, in many ways including the build, cameras and more.

The Redmi Note 7 will be available from 15th January and will come in three different storage variants. The base variant includes 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage for a price of CNY 999(approximately Rs. 10,300). The 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 12,400) and the 6GB + 64GB variant is priced at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 14,500). The devices will also be available in three color options – Twilight Gold, Fantasy Blue and Bright Black.

Looking into the most hyped department of this device, it sports a dual rear camera setup with the highest ever 48 megapixel Samsung’s GM1 sensor on a Xiaomi device and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The back gets a monochrome dual-LED flash, PDAF and AI support for features such as HDR, portrait mode, handheld super night scene mode, EIS with support for 1080p video recording. The selfie camera is a 13 megapixel shooter that can be used for AI Face Unlock, smart beauty, AI single shot blur and more applications.Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Launched with 48MP

The Redmi Note 7 features a large 6.3 inch FullHD+ LTPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 2.5 D curved glass protection that also comes with 84 per cent NTSC color gamut and 450 nits of brightness. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz paired up with Adreno 512 GPU. This dual SIM device will run on MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo with a huge 4000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 via a type-C USB charging port.

The Redmi Note 7 now sports a unique glass back and the display has a small notch on the front for the camera. Redmi has come up with a unique special tunnel cover for the Note 7 that changes color depending on viewing angle. It is only 0.8mm thick and costs CNY 29 (approx. Rs. 300) and has holes all over for a new look and feel. The device also gets 18 months warranty in China.
