Google Pixel 7a Launch Date Confirmed for India: Expected Specs and Colours

Google Pixel 7a India

On Tuesday, Google confirmed the official launch date for the Pixel 7a in India: May 11,2023. Numerous reports and leaks have speculated on the smartphone’s features, colours, and price in the lead-up to its release as the successor to the Pixel 6a. Recent rumours have hinted at a wider range of colour possibilities at launch than its predecessor offered. The confirmation of the event’s launch date in India corroborated earlier rumours that the Pixel 7a smartphone will be unveiled on May 10 during the Google I/O event.

The announcement was shared on Twitter by Google India, which also confirmed that the Pixel 7a will be sold in India through online retailer Flipkart after its May 11,2023 release. The tech giant gave us a sneak peek at the phone in a promotional photo. The woman is shown wearing a light blue outfit, lending credence to a previous report’s claim that the Pixel 7a might debut in an Arctic Blue hue similar to the Barely Blue colour option that the Pixel 4a provided.

The Pixel 7a was also seen in a Charcoal Black finish in the article. An earlier report said that an orange hue will be available for the phone, perhaps analogous to the Kinda Coral option on the Pixel 6.

A Tensor G2 SoC, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage are all rumoured specs for the next Google Pixel 7a. The 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED screen reportedly has a refresh rate of 90Hz.

The rumoured Google Pixel smartphone would reportedly have a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). There’s a 10.8-megapixel camera sensor up front for taking pictures and making video calls.

It will probably enable wireless charging and be powered by a 4,400mAh battery with support for 20W wired charging, which is said to provide up to 72 hours of backup. It’s possible that Google’s Pixel 7a will cost between Rs. 32,000 and 40,000 (about $450 and $500).
