Oppo introduced their newest A-series smartphone, the Oppo A79 5G, in India. The new 5G phone is available in either black or white, and it is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The hole punch cutout in the middle of the screen on the Oppo A79 5G’s 6.72-inch full-HD+ display is there for a selfie camera. It has a 50-megapixel dual camera and a 5,000 mAh battery that can be quickly charged using 33W SuperVOOC.

A single charge of the battery is said to be good for up to 26 hours of conversation time. The Oppo A79 5G followed the Oppo A78 5G as a new release. In the market, it will go up against smartphones like the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, the Vivo T2 5G, and the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G.

Oppo A79 5G Features and Specs

The Oppo A79 5G has a 6.72-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400-pixel) LCD display with up to 90Hz refresh rate, 391ppi pixel density, 650nits of peak brightness, and a 91.4-percent screen-to-body ratio, and it operates on ColorOS 13.1. An 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS2.2 storage complement the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC. RAM Expansion allows unused storage to be used to effectively increase the amount of RAM accessible to a maximum of 16GB.

The Oppo A79 5G boasts a dual camera setup on the back, one with a 50-megapixel sensor and an f/1.8 aperture for wide-angle shots, and another with a 2-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 lens for more detailed shots. A front-facing 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens is available for taking pictures and making video calls.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm headphone socket, a USB Type-C connector, USB OTG, GPS, and A-GPS are just some of the connectivity possibilities on the Oppo A79 5G. Accelerometers, ambient light sensors, geomagnetic sensors, gravity sensors, pedometers, and proximity sensors are only some of the on-board sensors. It contains a fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen and can also be unlocked using a user’s face.

The Oppo A79 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery and can be quickly recharged with the included 33W SuperVOOC charger. The battery can supposedly be charged from zero to 51 percent with the quick charging capability in only 30 minutes. The battery life is advertised as being up to 14 hours of video playing time and up to 26 hours of conversation time on a single charge. It weighs 193 grams and has dimensions of 165 x 76 x 7.9 mm. In addition, the phone has an IPX4 grade for water and dust resistance.

Oppo A79 5G Price and Availability

The only configuration of the new Oppo A79 5G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs Rs. 19,999 in India. It can be pre-ordered via Oppo’s online shop, Amazon, Flipkart, and other major retailers, and comes in two colors: Glowing Green and Mystery Black. On October 28, the device will be available for purchase.

The Oppo A79 5G is now on sale for an instant rebate of up to Rs. 4,000 when you pay with certain credit cards from SBI, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, IDFC First, AU Finance Bank, One Card, and BoB. The minimum monthly payment for the interest-free EMI plans is Rs 3,333. In addition, customers may get a Rs. 4,000 exchange incentive by trading in their previous smartphone.
