New Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro Launched With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

During a debut ceremony in China on Thursday, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro were introduced. The two new smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 system-on-chip (SoC) and HyperOS, Xiaomi’s alternative for the MIUI user interface. Up to a 2K resolution and 120Hz dynamic refresh rate are available on the LTPO OLED panels of the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. They have a triple-camera configuration in the back, fine-tuned by Leica. Each device supports up to 1TB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM. The Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro both have a dust and water resistant certification of IP68.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro has a 6.73-inch 2.5D LTPO display with a 2K resolution (1,440×3,200 pixels) and up to 120Hz refresh rate, and it operates on the company’s new HyperOS user interface. The device utilizes the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which was only released this week. When compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13, which utilized a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the new series is a major improvement since it is the first phone to employ Qualcomm’s new processor. It has up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro includes a triple camera setup on the back, one of which is branded by Leica and equipped with a Summilux lens. The camera package consists of a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 50-megapixel Hunter 900 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and f//1.6 aperture. There includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for taking pictures and video chatting.

Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro Price and Availability

The base edition of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, costs CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 56,500). With more memory and storage, the cost rises to CNY 5,499 (approximately Rs. 62,000), CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 68,200), and CNY 6,499 (approximately Rs. 74,000) for the 16GB + 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB configurations, respectively.

The 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage model of the Xiaomi 14 costs CNY 3,999 (about Rs. 50,000), while the 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage variant costs CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs. 48,000). The 16GB + 512GB model costs CNY 4,599 (52,000 Indian rupees), while the 16GB + 1TB model costs CNY 4,999 (56,000 Indian rupees).

Both cellphones may be ordered ahead of time and come in a variety of colors, including Classic Black, Rock Blue, Snow Mountain Pink, and White (translated from Chinese).

Xiaomi has yet to confirm when and how the 14 series will be released in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro (Review) was introduced in India at a starting price of Rs. 79,999 for the single 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage option. Although the Xiaomi 13 was released in other markets in February for EUR 999 (about Rs. 87,600), it was never made available in India.
