Jio’s second laptop model, the JioBook (2023), debuted in India on July 31. The new laptop’s chassis is made of plastic, and its CPU is an octa-core model made by Mediatek called the MT 8788. It 4G has a Jio SIM card pre-installed and comes in a special JioBlue color. The low-cost laptop has features including dual-band Wi-Fi and an HDMI micro connector for connecting to external displays. According to the manufacturer, the JioBook (2023)’s 5,000mAh battery will keep it running for up to 8 hours on a single charge.
JioBook Features and Specs
The 11.6-inch JioBook (2023) has an HD (768×1,366 pixel) display and operates on the Android-based JioOS operating system. The 4G laptop’s polycarbonate shell conceals a 4G SIM card. It has a MediaTek MT8788 octa-core CPU, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage. The internal memory may be expanded with a microSD card up to a total of 256GB. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, Adreno 610 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of eMMC storage were all included in the JioBook that was released in 2017.
It has standard features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, a micro HDMI connector, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting to external devices. The laptop has a 2-megapixel Web camera and twin stereo speakers. It has a 5,000mAh battery that can supposedly last for up to eight hours on a single charge. In addition to being very thin, the Laptop weighs is 990 grams. When compared to its predecessor, which weighed just 1.2 kg, the current model is much larger.
JioBook Price and availability
The suggested retail price of Rs. 16,499 for the laptop in India. The laptop is only available in a single shade of blue called Jio Blue and can be pre-ordered from major retailers like Amazon and online marketplaces like Reliance Digital’s. The product release date is set for August 5.
You may remember that in October of 2016 Reliance introduced the first JioBook, which retailed for Rs. 15,799.
