LG Teases Dual Screen Phone Launch at IFA 2019, V60 ThinQ Expected

On Monday 11 August, LG unveiled a new video of a smartphone with a detachable dual screen. The smartphone is going to make debut in the Indian Market in the next month. The upcoming smartphone by LG is expected to be the successor to the V50 ThinQ. The smartphone is going to be named as LG V60 or LG V60 ThinQ.

The smartphone is going to be launched by LG on the eve of the international Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin on September 6, 2019.  The company also promoted the smartphone on Instagram. The 15 second video on Instagram with a title “Dual, the Better” depicts the upgraded movement of the second screen of V50, which can be positioned at either 104 degree or 180 degree. The upcoming smartphone has “free stop hinge” technology. The smartphone is designed to add the ability to stop and hold the second screen at any position, like a laptop.  The smartphone is expected to face stiff competition with Samsung Galaxy Note 10 which is going to be released in August and the Galaxy Fold, set for a late September launch.

Apart from V60 or V60 ThinQ, the smartphones from the  Apple and Huawei are also expected to hit the market in the coming months. LG has focussed on using the idea of Samsung Electronics and Huawei to use second screen as a practical alternate to make a foldable phone.
