New Lava Yuva 2 launched In India With 6.5-inch HD+ 90Hz Display 1

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro is a relatively new smartphone priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. Many competitors have moved upwards, making this a unique entry in a once-crowded market. The Lava Yuva 2 Pro is a great option for anybody looking to make the switch from a feature phone to a smartphone. From the rear, it aspires to replicate the appearance of an iPhone. The back of the Lava Yuva 2 Pro is made of glass, much as the back of the Lava Blaze 5G (Review). The old adage that you shouldn’t judge a book (or a phone) by its cover holds true here.

Is the Lava Yuva 2 Pro the best smartphone you can get for around Rs. 10,000 (about $160) in India? For more information, see our comprehensive review.

Lava Yuva 2 Features and Specs

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro’s glossy glass back is a standout feature, especially given the phone’s affordable pricing. It weighs in at a premium 204g, but its in-hand feel is comparable to the more costly Lava Blaze 5G. The polycarbonate case is streamlined to resemble today’s standard for mobile devices. You can quickly and easily access the power and volume controls by swiping to the right. The bottom has the 3.5mm connection for headphones, the USB Type-C port, and the speaker grille. The top is empty, however there are two slots for Nano SIM cards on the left.

One potential selling point for the Lava Yuva 2 Pro is its design. The design of the camera module seems to have been influenced by the recently released iPhone 14 Pro (Review). However, Lava hardly sticks out at all. Some fingerprints and smudges may be seen on the back panel, however the white model I have with me makes them less noticeable.

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro seems like a cheap phone because of the waterdrop notch at the top of the screen and the wide chin below it. The HD+ resolution on the 6.5-inch IPS LCD display is standard for phones in this price range. The screen is just so-so, both in terms of outside visibility and clarity. However, the volume of the single downward-firing speaker is sufficient to fill a large space.

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro is powered by the brand new octa-core, 2.3GHz MediaTek Hello G37 SoC. It contains a 5000mAh battery and comes with a 10W charger in the package. The phone has GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and 4G connectivity options. It can recognize your face and fingerprints thanks to a scanner on its side. Using a microSD card, you may add up to 256GB to the device’s storage space.

The Lava Yuva 2 Pro comes preinstalled with the Android 12 operating system. Lava, even at this pricing range, should have given its consumers the most recent version of Android, 13. This phone’s lack of preloaded third-party applications is a definite benefit. Some Lava applications, such Lava Care and Lava Guide, and a third-party app, Doubtnut, are shown in the app drawer.

Other than that, it’s a vanilla Android experience. None of the factory installed applications have sent me any unwanted messages. In addition to the status bar notifications, the Android privacy dashboard feature alerts users when an app is using the phone’s microphone, camera, or location services.

Lava Yuva 2 Price and Availability

In India, the Lava Yuva 2 Pro is available in only one flavor. The phone includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and is priced at Rs. 7,999. Glass White, Glass Green, and Glass Lavender are the three color options for this gadget.
