The Shenzhen based company OnePlus is now going to take over the TV segment after its stride in the smartphone segment. CEO Pete Lau wrote on the company’s website, “For most of us, there are four major environments we experience each day: the home, the workplace, the commute, and being on-the-move. The home – perhaps the most important environment experience – is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity.”

He told Business Insider that the OnePlus TV might launch by 2019. The TV is expected to focus mainly on the sound quality, image quality and the design. The design can be expected to be highly minimalistic. No official specifications have been released yet but 4K HDR should be present in order to compete with the other giants in the market such as Samsung, LG and more. OnePlus TV has potential to change the game and that should make Samsung and Sony worry if they launched their Smart TV is Good Pricing.
Pete Lau also added, “We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity. To do this, we are building a new product of OnePlus’ premium flagship design, image quality and audio experience to more seamlessly connect the home.”
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has previously revealed that they have developed and abandoned some prototype devices outside of phones earlier. OnePlus has made Stephen L, as TV product manager. He is asking the huge OnePlus community’s help to officially name the first TV product. This is going to be a grand opening for the company as it has already earned the trust of Indian consumers. We all can now only wait for the “premium, flagship TV.”. OnePlus has begun a global contest to decide a name of its first smart TV.
