Built Quality and Design

When we come to the built of the device, the best thing i like in the whole device is the look and feel and its easy handling the only drawback in the design is that after it is too handy they have used on screen back buttons, where as they can make it them as capacitive backlit buttons as it will increase the screen size.

As they are only having 4.7″ screen size after adding on screen buttons it becomes 4.5 which looks quit small while using it.

At the back they have a 8MP rear camera with a large golden color wing which just attract you towards it. below it you are having a LED flash which gives decent performance, finger print sensor works pretty fine, just like the other devices which we are getting these days response time is good and works fine most of the time no complains regarding it.

Below that there is Panasonic brand logo and Eluga written which is the name of the series. After that there is decent speaker below that.

When we come to the top they are offering 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster, we have not checked the earphone performance as well as the IR blaster application, hope they have added all the devices list on to the application of IR blaster else it is of no use.

When we come to bottom side of the device it is having a normal Micro USB port and beside there it is having a Primary mic and nothing else. it has a curvy design and is only available in GOLD color Variant. Hopefully in future they will add some new color line up in the future.

When we come to another side of the device it is having Volume rockers and below that the power lock key, which gives quite good haptik feedback. There is no patterned like feel on those buttons but it doesn’t matter as the buttons are quite tactile and can easily be pressed. On another side it is having a Hybrid Sim Tray which can handle Dual Sim or One Sim and One Micro SD Card depending what you gonna use over there and it is expandable upto only 32 GB.

Camera

When we come to the camera performance it is quite decent, clarity it good and the video i have shot from this device is listed below the maximum shooting will take place at 1080p which is good. When we try to focus on the subject, it is really very good and speedy but there is no manual controls over there.

Hardware & Performance

When we come to the performance there is no lag in the UI while i was using it, the more we can only find once we will receive the device in our hand. when we come to the battery it comes with 1800 mAh. i know want you are thinking it is very low but they have mentioned that they have installed some optimization using which better will easily last for a day, but i doubt on it.

When we come to the screen they are offering is 4.7″ HD IPS Display which is 2.5D Curve which looks good but doesn’t matter for the consumers a lot while purchasing. The Processor it comes is Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.2 GHz which is a 2 year old processor i don’t know why they have not upgraded it yet. The GPU it is having is Adreno 306 again a old one but games will work fine on it.

It is a dual sim Hybrid Sim Tray and is expandable upto 32GB only. Rest all the Details Specs are being listed below just check it out.

Oppo recently launched a new device series within its smartphone range, called the F-series, with its central focus on camera quality. The Oppo F1 Plus is the same as the Oppo R9 they have just re-branded it for indian market. The F1 Plus is also called up as a “Selfie Expert” smartphone with its high-resolution front facing camera.

We cannot regret that the design of Oppo F1 Plus has been totally “inspired” by the current iPhone design. It is not the first time any company has been drawn inspiration from any popular smartphone which is there in the market. Oppo has seems to have made huge efforts to ensure that the F1 Plus is not a direct copied, and the end result should be quite satisfying with this.

There it also comes with a hybrid SIM tray is on the right, and can add either two Nano-SIMs or a single SIM and a microSD card (up to 128GB).

The phone feels really very premium while in the hand just because of it’s metal chassis and rounded glass edges in the front. The weight of the device comes to 145g and is quite comfortable to daily use, even with one handed.  It comes with narrow bezels on each side of the screen. The display is a 5.5-inch full-HD Amoled panel which produces really very vivid colors and deep blacks. You also get Gorilla Glass 4 for extra amount protection.

The volume rockers and power lock keys are placed on one side of the phone and are and easy to reach while one handed. they also provide good tactile feedback we faced no issue after using it at that time.

When we come to the back of the phone it has a very nice texture which is smooth to touch but is slippery also because of the metal they have used like iPhone’s. is has a similar camera bump as you guys have already noticed this one with 13 MP camera sensor, and an LED flash below to it. The speaker grille, Micro-USB port and headphones jack are all on the bottom of the device.

We also get back-lit capacitive touch buttons beside the home button, which also has an inbuilt fingerprint sensor. The sensor works good as now it is normal to get figure print hardly any difference you can notice in daily use. You also get a white notification LED on the top.

We love the detail in the design of the Oppo F1 Plus. The device is very slim with just only 6.6 mm thickness.

Camera

The Oppo F1 Plus focuses itself as a selfie phone due to which they have fitted it in with a 16-megapixel, fixed-focus front camera. Selfies taken under natural light are sharp with very good detail. There is no dedicated flash on front facing camera which is something that is missing, and it also has a screen flash which is a little bit weak to give you sharp images like we get on apple devices.

Around the back, we have a 13-megapixel camera which really manages to capture some pretty detailed pictures. The quality of recorded video is also pretty good during daytime. The maximum resolution it can handle is 1080p with no 4K recording in it.

Hardware & Performance

The Oppo F1 Plus is powered by MediaTek’s MT6755 octa-core SoC, which is also known as the Helio P10. It’s a 64-bit chip built which is slightly on the older side. It’s packs in a Mali T860 GPU. Coupled with 4GB of RAM, the overall performance seems to be quite good and fast. The phone also has inbuilt 64GB of storage, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, and USB OTG. There is no NFC and FM radio which are two features that are really going to be missed in India whether they are being used or not. The F1 Plus supports 4G for Indian bands and VoLTE.

Yesterday WhatsApp launched end to end encryption service for its users. Now, most of them are getting this feature and most of them are not. The general idea behind this encryption technology is a more secure messaging.

What is end-to-end encryption?

Many messaging apps only encrypt messages between you and them, but WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption ensures only you and the person you’re communicating with can read what is sent, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp. This is because your messages are secured with a lock, and only the recipient and you have the special key needed to unlock and read them. For added protection, every message you send has its own unique lock and key. All of this happens automatically: no need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure your messages.

The Signal Protocol, designed by Open Whisper Systems, is the basis for WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption. This end-to-end encryption protocol is designed to prevent third parties and WhatsApp from having plaintext access to messages or calls. What’s more, even if encryption keys from a user’s device are ever physically compromised, they cannot be used to go back in time to decrypt previously transmitted messages.

Call Setup

WhatsApp calls are also end-to-end encrypted. When a WhatsApp user initiates a call:

  1. The initiator builds an encrypted session with the recipient (as outlined in Section Initiating Session Setup), if one does not already exist.
  2. The initiator generates a random 32-byte SRTP master secret.
  3. The initiator transmits an encrypted message to the recipient that signals an incoming call, and contains the SRTP master secret.
  4. If the responder answers the call, a SRTP encrypted call ensues.

WhatsApp users additionally have the option to verify the keys of the other users with whom they are communicating so that they are able to confirm that an unauthorized third party (or WhatsApp) has not initiated a man-in-the-middle attack.   1. A version.
  2. The user identifier for both parties.
  3. The full 32-byte public Identity Key for both parties.

Criticism on the encryption technology

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies believe that stronger encryption protocols may allow criminals and terrorists to communicate with impunity. But can we risk the privacy of 1 Billion WhatsApp user, that is still an open question.

Also, an article in Livemint.com said that “WhatsApp is not encrypting everything. Buried in the fine print is this line: WhatsApp may retain date and time stamp information associated with successfully delivered messages and the mobile phone numbers involved in the messages, as well as any other information which WhatsApp is legally compelled to collect.”

Which basically means even if the content is not being recorded, it’ll still leave plenty of information to identify you.

The only reason you may not have this feature is because your WhatsApp is outdated. So, update it and enjoy the secure messaging.

During product development we also consulted the ​ All India Institute of Medical Sciences ​ and ASHAs who are community health workers to ensure the information on the cards is useful and accessible.”
