A few days ago, the tech giant Xiaomi whose headquarter is in Beijing confirmed that MIUI 9 is currently under development. The launch date wasn’t released a few weeks ago but now on the MIUI forum, it has been said that the MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat will be released before 16th of August. Various screenshots have been also shared by a Xiaomi executive for getting feedback from the users.

On viewing the screenshots, many users got confused regarding the new features shown in the pictures but on the forum, Xiaomi confirmed that the screenshots were of a new theme on the MIUI and it does not represent any new features of the MIUI 9.
CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun said earlier that “MIUI 9 will be more stable and powerful in comparison to its older versions.” The company explained on the forum that the screenshots main aim was to seek the response and collect feedback from the customers and also told that some tech sites misreported it as a leaked screenshot of MIUI 9’s design interface.

The screenshots were shared by MIUI’s product manager on Weibo. MIUI 9 is expected to feature the split-screen mode which allows the user to use two applications at the same time. The picture-in-picture mode (currently available on Android TV with Nougat) which supports multi-display will allow the users to watch videos on a small screen while working on other applications.
