One thing all of us have done at one time or another is to take a screenshot of anyone’s post/stories on social media. So the big question which comes up in the mind is that does Instagram notify when you screenshot a story. We do so because maybe we find something amusing or informative or maybe we’re just stalking. It was good until now because it didn’t involve the other person knowing about it. But now things have surely changed over the internet. Does Instagram Notify When You Screenshot a Story? Instagram’s newest features let users know if anyone has taken a screenshot of their stories. This will surely affect some of us who love to stalk someone on the internet, so here we are going to tell you more about it and how to prevent it.
Does Instagram Notify When You Screenshot a Story?
First, let us discuss how you’ll be alerted if anyone screenshots your stories.
Step 1. Click on the story you posted.
Step 2. Click on the bottom of your screen to see who viewed your story.
Step 3. Now the list of all those people will come up who viewed your story. To know who all took a screenshot, see for a star-shaped icon placed next to the username of the person who took a screenshot.
Although Instagram alerts the person but also warns the person taking screenshots. The warning given is as, “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see.”
But like every problem, this has a solution too. Don’t worry you can continue your habit of taking screenshots without being detected if you follow the following techniques.
Use Flight Mode
One method to take screenshots without being detected is to use flight mode. This won’t trigger Instagram’s warning.
Step 1. After viewing the story, put your phone into the flight mode.
Step 2. Now take the screenshot.
Step 3. Turn off the flight mode.
Use Story Re-poster
Story Reposter is an application available on the iOS App Store. It lets the users share and repost the stories of other users without any hassle. It’s completely free and very easy to use.
Step 1. Download and install the Story Reposter for the Instagram application on your phone.
Step 2. Search for the Instagram user you want to repost or share.
Step 3. Preview his/her available stories.
Step 4. Re-post them to your favorite social network.
Step 5. Since you’ve already reposted the story in your own profile, you can now save or take a screenshot of the posted story.

Overall, after using our steps you can easily download or take a screenshot for any of the stories which are available on Instagram. After using these simple method no one would be able to know whether you have taken a screenshot of the story of not.
But I would like to mention one thing this feature was tested by Instagram in Feb 2019 and not being used and installed fully in any Instagram application. So the answer to the question Does Instagram Notify When You Screenshot a Story? is a big NO. Only Snapchat is the application that use to send a notification to the user about who has actually taken the screenshot of the image. Snapchat even notifies weather the user has recorded the screen or not. These things are good for some and some people just don’t like it.
So to be safer I would still prefer to use the above application method just for the safe side.
