In this boat of a right now selfie camera is the most demanded thing in the market. So, to cover all this stuff Vivo comes up with their new smartphone, Vivo V7. This device houses a 24-megapixel selfie camera with an added feature of moonlight glow as a LED flash which will help the user to capture best selfies even in low-light. The camera application and camera performance is improved drastically form Vivo Previous devices.

The Phone is going to be available in both offline as well as in online market with the price of Rs. 18.990.

Now when we start with the Design and built in Vivo V7, this times the phone houses in polycarbonate body which seems to be like metal built but actually is very fine and high quality of plastic. This is beneficial in two way; one it will low down the weight of the phone and secondly, it will control the heating of the phone while doing intense gaming and another multitasking. The design seems to be inspired by all their previous models but still, they have given better edges and way better built when we compare this with its previous models. We also get better antenna lines which look more premium and elegant.

Starting with the front top here we get large 24-megapixel camera beside it a LED notification earpiece, different sensors and a Moonlight LED flash which works perfectly for nightlife selfies.

Sliding down it houses a 5.7′ HD Display which is not a normal display but an infinity display. This large display is fitting in a body of a small device and give about 79% of the screen to body ratio.

Moving down we get on screen back keys which can be modified and change according to your usage. This is not enough the best thing which I loved the most is that you can permanently hide the on-screen keys which will give you more screen to work with and for the home button, you can use gestures which are located at the same location where the on-screen keys are fitted.

Coming to the downside of the phone we get Micro USB port which supports OTG. Beside it, we get 3.5 mm audio jack, primary MIC and speaker which is quite loud.

Turning the phone to the left side here we get triple tray slot which supports dual Nano Sim as well as at the same time we get a support of dedicated Micro SD card slot.

Turning to another side we get volume rockers and power lock key which works perfectly. The buttons are perfectly blended in the curved body of the device.

Moving to the top side of the phone we only get a secondary noise cancellation MIC.

Finally coming to the back panel of the phone, here we get a 16-megapixel primary camera which captures quite good shots, beside that houses a single LED flash. Below that we get a fingerprint sensor which is as fast as we get on the Oneplus device, rest you can imagine how fast it is. Below that VIVO branding and nothing much which we need to cover over here.

Display

Vivo V7 comes with a 5.7-inch HD display which gives you the resolution of 1440 x 720 and pixel density of 282 PPI. The Display colors are more towards natural tint this time which looks more vivid and dark but looks good. That Infinity display makes it looks gorgeous. Watching movies and playing games will give you some great experience. The Sunlight legibility if Vivo V5 is also top notch, while on automatic brightness or on manual brightness display is easily visible in even direct bright sunlight also. But I would say the display panel we get in Vivo V7 looks great. Overall the screen for movies and games and daily use is good.

Coming to the Viewing Angle it is also good and doesn’t have any complaints about it. There are different color modes, which you can change as per your usage by going into the setting panel.

Performance

The phone comes with Snapdragon 450 processor which features a 4 GB Ram. This combo makes it a perfect device for under 20,000 segments. Out of 32 GB of internal storage you get about 24.5 GB free, even after that, you can expand it to up-to 256GB because of the phone support dedicated Micro SD card Slot.

We get Antutu Score of 55103 and certain other scores are also good. With this screen size and great selfie, they have also given all the sensors which are required by any normal person. We can also use VR with this device as it supports gyroscope sensor. Even while using GPS it will give you proper accuracy as it also has magnetic and orientation sensor.

Coming to the gaming part, we can play almost all games. In my use, I have not seen any lag or frame drops even in Asphalt 8 high setting. Every game even in the high-end setting is working well. I have tried playing most of the games like Asphalt 8, Shadow Fight 3, Batman, Bully at Adreno 506 GPU with the support of Snapdragon 450 processor work well. I have also not seen any heating issue while long gaming in DELHI, INDIA Temperature.

Camera

Vivo always comes with some great camera. This time in Vivo V7 comes with comes up with 16 MP rear Camera which comes out quite good. The rear camera seems to be even better than what we get in Honor 9i. We get better clarity and better bokeh. The images came out really good with some great colors and saturation. Rest, I have already posted some camera shots downside. Coming to the Low light images, it comes up with a little bit noisy

Coming to the front part here we get a large 24-megapixel sensor for selfies with a front LED flash in it. I would say taking selfies in good light as well as no light will come out really good.

Rest, we also have a different option in the camera application which we can use and fiddle up with to get better shots.

Software

Out of the box, Vivo V7 comes up with Android 7.1.2 Nogat with the skin of Funtouch OS running on top of it. This OS seems to be inspired by IOS and is not having any app drawer. Rest you can also change different themes by downloading it from their itheme application. Rest there is nothing much which I think must be explained over there. The UI seems to be very smooth and lag free. Rest there are many new small features like eye protection, power saving mode, which will help you in the day to day usage.

Battery

Vivo V7 comes up with 3,000mAh battery. Overall it took about 1 Hour 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 100% from their default charger. Even with my heavy usage with containing whole day Wifi Hotspot+dual Sim+ Whole day calling and messaging and browsing. Until the end of the day, I left with 35% of battery.

This means you need to worry about battery while using the phone it will last you long.

Best built quality device till now from Gionee launched in India. The device is also loaded with new 18:9 ratio display which seems to really nice and sharp like we always get in Gionee devices. They never compromise on their built and quality. In all our previous Gionee device review we have mentioned particularly about their product quality.

So, today we are having the latest device from Gionee i.e. Gionee M7 Power, which was launched a few days back in India with the effective price of Rs. 16,999. The device is already available on Amazon as well as in their different stores.

Gionee M7 Power Specification

Design & Built

Gionee M7 Power is available in two colors Black and Gold. When I first picked up the device in hand it feels sturdy, but a bit heavy still well built. I would say Gionee has really worked hard on their new device. Each and every small detail is being taken care which we can notice on the power lock key which I will explain later. Built quality of Gionee M7 Power is really on top no complaints regarding it.

Starting with the front part of the phone at the top we get an 8-Megapixel Shooter beside it earpiece, different sensors and a no LED notification Light this time.

Sliding a bit downwards we get a large 6-inch HD display which gives you the resolution of about 720X1440. The ratio which we get in this display is 18:9 which make India’s first device which comes with large 5000mah Battery which is supported with 18:9 Display.The front panel is also coated with gorilla glass 3 and 2.5D curve glass which adds extra protection and looks to the device.

Below that you get on screen keys which can be swiped according to the usage of the user. Below that houses Gionee logo and nothing much. The front panel of the phone looks gorgeous and attracts because of its great display.

Now, coming to the down portion of the phone you get a Micro USB port which does not support fast charging but support OTG, besides that you get Single Speaker grills which are quite loud. Along with all these stuff, we also get a 3.5mm audio jack and a primary MIC.

Turning around to the top side you just get an infrared sensor which is used to control all stuff which can be controlled by a remote.

Coming to the left portion of the phone you get a Tripple tray slot which supports Dual Sim + MicroSD card that to up to 256GB.

Turning the phone to the right side, you get volume rockers and power lock keys which work perfectly fine and made up of metal. We also have Chamfered cut design available on volume rockers and power lock key. This is not enough to get more details on the phone Gionee has added pattern feel on power lock button.

Coming to the back side of the phone you get a 13-megapixel primary camera besides that a single tone LED flash. The whole back panel is made up of some kind of high-quality plastic material which give you matt kind of feel. This Pattern helps the device to not fall easily from your hand. This quality and proper fit in hand help the user to use the device single-handedly without worrying about dropping the device.

Display

Gionee M7 Power comes up with a 6-inch HD AMOLED Display with the resolution of 720 x 1440 and pixel density of 268 PPI, which makes it look better. The colours are vibrant and dark. They are more towards the natural side and feels comfortable to eyes. White balance feels perfect and makes it a pleasant display to use even in bright sunlight. There are different colour profiles that you can choose as per your comfortability by going into the setting panel.

Auto-brightness work perfectly, and I have no complaints regarding the display. Watching movies is awesome because we are getting Amoled Display and not any ordinary display. Viewing Angle is good and odd angle won’t affect you in any way. Overall I love the display.

Performance

The Gionee M7 Power comes finally with a Snapdragon 435 Processor paired with Adreno 505 and a 4GB RAM. There we get 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 256GB using a microSD card slot.

With this new Snapdragon, processor device can somehow to handle all graphics intensive games such as GTA San Andreas, Bully, Batman, Nova 3 and much more. The best part is that even after playing the games for more than 30 minutes it won’t heat up the max temperature I got was 36- Degree that is quite normal that too in Delhi Temperature. The phone functions smoothly even after there is more than 10 open in the background.

The thing which is mostly noticed is that they have added too much privacy protection in the device and with each and every application it asks me to get permission for one or another thing which sometimes irritates you. Overall Amigo OS works well.

We forgot to mention about the sensors which are available in Gionee M7 Power. We cannot use any VR on this device as we don’t get any orientation sensor in the device.

Camera

Gionee A1 Plus comes up with 13 MP rear Camera which comes out quite good with this price range. The rear camera seems to be even better than what we get in Previous Gionee Devices. We get better clarity and better bokeh with this price. Focusing on the device is Average with the rear camera. The images came out decent. Rest, I have already posted some camera shots downside. Coming to the Low light images, it comes up with a little bit noisy.

We also get a nice mode where we can make 3D photos but just moving our phone all over the object and after that, you can export it edit it according to your usage. There are different modes which we get in the app like Pro mode, night mode, time lapse, slow motion, text recognition, and text translation and many other. The camera UI is very simple and easy to use.

Coming to the front part here we get an 8-megapixel large sensor for selfies. I would say taking selfies in good light will come out good but in low light, I would say Nah.

Rest, we have a different option in the camera app which we can use and fiddle up with to get better shots.

Software

The Gionee M7 Power comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with their custom skin Amigo 5.0 UI on top of it. They have customized a whole lot of stuff in their UI, and I would say it is buttery smooth even after filling the whole 64GB internal storage, with games, movies, and songs. In Amigo UI we don’t get any app drawer just like iPhone.

Overall, the UI is quite good, but the person who love stock then this device is not for you, you will get so many customizations right in your hand out of the box. There are some minor bugs, but we can expect those bugs to be fixed by Gionee in next coming OTA updates.

Battery

Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 5000 mAh battery. On moderate or even too high usage, the smartphone will easily last your two full days on a single charge, and even more, it depends on your usage. I was Using Jio Sim + 15 minutes approx gaming, continuous WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media, some selfies and at the end of the day, the remaining battery was 65% which seems to be quite good for me. There we also get some energy saving modes which will further optimize your battery life. You can choose different battery modes between normal mode, power saving mode which reduces performance.

It also comes with a normal 5V=2amp charger and took about 3 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%.

Verdict

Apart from the Price which is Rs. 16,999; I would say Gionee has made something different in there now. As Gionee is always offline focused brand and will be there future as well. This time the device is also available on Amazon.in So, when we compare Gionee M7 Power with other available offline brands, this is going to be a huge competition.
