“Big Billion Day this year will be many times bigger. We also want to see our mobile platform play a larger role in serving customers during this years’ sale,” in an interview with ET Sachin Bansal , CEO and co-founder of Flipkart.

This time Flipkart is giving extremely special attention to its mobile app users to offer personalized experiences not only users but to marketplace platform and supply chain network.

Your every bit of data which lies with Flipkart will be examined with the purpose of drawing conclusions about that information to allow organization to make better business decisions and to verify or disprove existing models or theories.

According to statistics, Mobile commerce is growing at really faster pace and more than half of the company’s sale happening through its mobile app only.

“The pace at which this medium is catching up with and even surpassing desktops is faster than what we have seen in the US or China, where the concept of mobile commerce has been around for longer,” Bansal said.

During the Big Billion Day sale only Flipkart generated almost 500 TB of commerce data. “We primarily use data to predict customer trends based on region, gender, wish list etc., to drive an enriching shopping experience,” said Bansal.

“We aim to have at least 10,000 sellers become millionaires this year through the sales generated on our platform,” said Ankit Nagori, SVP – Marketplace at Flipkart.

“We also have on-ground teams carrying out quality checks at seller facilities from time to time along with mystery shoppers who are constantly monitoring sellers for product quality, delivery timelines and customer friendly return/replacement policies,” Nagori said.

Being such a giant and because of its complex structure company face difficulty  controlling the qualities of products, so this time all blacklisted sellers won’t qualify to sell on Flipkart. For sellers, they need to be get registered their business first with the certificates of originalities and warranties of their products as Flipkart does not want a single spot on their brand name.

Well, we are waiting impatiently and we had contacted Flipkart for more details and asked for most awaited day of the year ….. FINGERS CROSSED…..

So guys your wait is almost over for Xiaomi Flagship Killer the Mi4 as today (28-1-2015) they have announced the release of Xiaomi Mi4 Launched In India For Rs 19,999 with the price which is very competitive if we compare it with the different other models which are available in the market with such hardware configuration.

They are going to release the device on 10th Feb 2015 Exclusively on Flipkart.com with the price of Rs. 19,999 which is the price of 16 GB variant in which about 13.45 GB will be available to further use. The main disadvantage I feel is that 16 GB is quite low when even they are not offering the external card slot in the device and it also not support 4G in 16 GB variant which is a a big negative point.

Like other Xiaomi devices it will also be available only to the registered users and on “First Come Fist Serve Bases” which sometimes becomes a very big problem who need the device urgently.

When we come to the comparison with other flagship killer which was launch last year in December the Oneplus one 64 GB variant which is available only for Rs. 22,000, but it also has a drawback that it is available to only those who has the invite to buy the device. When we come to the invite they are easily available now a days as amazon is sending invites to all the owners and as well as to those who are subscribed to their oneplus one page on amazon.in.

Xiaomi Mi4

When we come to the hardware which Xiaomi Mi4 is offering is, it powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and 3GB RAM. It will be available in 16GB variants in India first. The phone runs MIUI 6, a new version of the company’s operating system, based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone sports a 13MP rear and 8MP front Sony stacked CMOS camera and a 3080mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, the battery would last one and a half day with normal usage and will offer quick charging, reaching 60% charge in an hour’s time.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It doesn’t support 4G data and NFC.

Commenting on the launch, Hugo Barra, vice president, Xiaomi Global, said, “I am truly excited to be bringing the Mi 4 to India, after listening to the feedback of so many fans. The Xiaomi team has put a lot of effort into designing a gorgeous device packed with powerful specs, and I trust that Mi 4 will be warmly welcomed by all our Indian fans. I believe India Mi fans will love MIUI 6, the most exciting update to our software platform to date.”

Manu Jain, operations head, Mi India, said: “The Mi 4 re-affirms our commitment to bring more Mi products to India. We will continue to work on offering our Mi fans incredible value as we introduce even more great devices in the coming year, and the best user experience ever.”

New Water Resistant Material That Bounce Water Back

Scientists at the University of Rochester have created a new laser-scratching innovation that makes a super hydrophobic sheet of material. The material is hydrophobic to the point that water drops bounce off until they tumble off the edge.the special thing about the new innovation is that its significantly more tricky than Teflon, utilized normal hydrophobic material that regularly layers nonstick pans. It’s  dissimilar to non stick griddle, the new laser-treated metals doesn’t require to tilt the metal for water to move off the surface. Since broiling skillet use concoction covering which wears off over the time. The new engineering can be utilized as a part of various applications, for example, rust anticipation, hostile to icing, or even in sanitation employments.

As the water bobs off the surface, it additionally gathers dust particles. Analysts likewise tried this utilizing standard dust from a vacuum cleaner and dumped it onto the treated surface. About 50% of the dust particles were uprooted with only three drops of water. It took just twelve drops to leave the surface spotless. Additionally it remained totally dry.

“The material is so strongly water-repellent, the water actually gets bounced off. Then it lands on the surface again, gets bounced off again, and then it will just roll off from the surface,” said Guo, professor of optics in the University’s Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. That whole process takes less than a second.

“In these regions, collecting rain water is vital and using super-hydrophobic materials could increase the efficiency without the need to use large funnels with high-pitched angles to prevent water from sticking to the surface,” says Guo. “A second application could be creating latrines that are cleaner and healthier to use.”

According to them the manufacturing process is not ready for large-scale manufacturing as it takes an hour to etch a one-inch-square piece of metal.

What is Android Rooting? Is it Safe?

What Is Android Rooting?

You must have heard about iPhone jailbreak. Rooting is jail-breaking for Androids which allows users to do anything they want to do into a phone’s sub-system. It allow users to access the entire OS and be able to customize just anything the Device. If you gain root access, users can bypass any restrictions that  manufacturer have applied. Moreover, more apps can be run which are restricted in  the particular country even the user can overclock the CPU and GPU of there device using different TWEAKS.

Rooting an Android Device allows the users to boost their handset’s operating performance, install non-approved applications and otherwise modify their phone according to their liking. Often inexperienced users are likely to “brick” their phones (make the device useless by modifying some application and TWEAKS incorrectly) if they try the rooting procedure without following proper guidelines. Users should root an Android phone carefully, as it normally voids the phone’s warranty.

Why you need root?

Most people root their Android device so that they can remove the bloatware (unused application which are pre -installed in the device from the manufacturer). Some people don’t like handset built-in firmware and their Rom. Their rom sometimes includes unnecessary apps which you don’t use. Rooting your phone will make your phone much faster as it is free from unnecessary built-in apps. Some other benefits include the ability to install special apps and custom ROMs. Every custom ROM can add extra features and streamline your phone or tablet’s performance. Many people are tempted by the ability to completely customize the look of their phones. There is option to manually accept or deny app permissions. There are some great apps that won’t work without rooting. For example, some apps allow you to automatically backup all of your apps and all of their data, make secure tunnels to the Internet, totally block advertisements, overclock your processor etc. Rooting also allows you to use cracked apps without any hassle.

Why not to go for Root ?

There are several reasons for which you may rethink root process. Rooting an android device has some disadvantage too. Firstly, it will void manufacturer’s warranty. Almost all of the manufacturers or carriers use rooting as an excuse to void your warranty. You must know that you can always unroot the device.

In case of you need to send the device back for repair, first flash the original backup ROM you made and no one will ever know that it was rooted. A certain way to avoid bricking is to follow instructions carefully. Rooting android device may lead to some security risks. Based on what services or apps you use on your device, rooting may form security vulnerability.
Gaining full root access to your Android device can be thrilling. You can tinker with settings and customize your device. After rooting, possible benefits for all Android users include improved battery life, no bloatware, root-only apps, overclocking, improved performance, custom ROMs and the facility to upgrade your phone when you want. Rooting isn’t for you If you aren’t excited at the prospect of any of these things,

If you finally think it’s a worthy effort to root your phone, follow the instructions carefully. Then back up all your data with software. Now you are ready for root. Install custom Rom and finally restore the data. This is as simple as that. Watching a video tutorial in Youtube will certainly help a person alot.

Xiaomi to Launch Ultra Thin Flagship in Mid January

Xiaomi will be holding an event at the Beijing National Convention Center on January 15 at 2 PM where it’s expected to launch its new ultra-thin flagship smartphone. Last month, Xiaomi president Lei Jun said that the company would introduce its next flagship smartphone in January. The social media site quotes Mr. Lei as saying, “There’s no better way to start 2015 than with our newest products.” Xiaomi is selling tickets to the January 15th event. 1000 ducats for the press event are being offered at the equivalent of $16 from Xiaomi’s Mall app.

XiaomiThe rumours about the new smartphone point to an almost bezel-less big screen device- probably more than 5 inches in screen size, with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The processor is rumored to be either Snapdragon 805, or 801, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The phone’s back camera is rumored to be a 20.7MP one, and a fingerprint scanner could also be in the mix.

Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi is expected to price this model higher than previous ones and as a result, may offer two different variants with different prices.

There are also conflicting rumors about the name of the device; both Mi4S or the Mi5 have been speculated as possible names. However, the 4S could actually be launched as a mid-range handset, and the Mi5 as its premium variant. Of course, with so many rumors in play, the Xiaomi event should be of great interest.

How to enable Google Now in Nepal and other countries

Google Now was first introduced in Android 4.1 Jellybean and it has been used as a personal assistant by many android users ever since. However after the introduction of Android 4.4 Kitkat many users started to complain that the search update broke google now functionality. Some of you might just have bought a shiny new Nexus 5 to enjoy a fine android experience but the lack of Google Now left you disappointed. When on

The home screen of the default Android Launcher, swiping to the left should take you to the Google Now interface but for some of the users it is nowhere to be found. Also there are many people who flash custom roms to enjoy latest android builds on their devices. I am using Galaxy Nexus which didnot get the Kitkat update from Google.

So I flashed a custom rom which promised the Google Now feature on the left side of the homescreen of default Kitkat launcher. But like some of you Nexus 5 users i was left disappointed. So i began my quest for searching a method to activate Google Now on my phone. I browsed through many Google support forums and it is still unclear what is actually causing the problem. I tried a few tips from other users and few Google employees (Paul, Jessica Schwartz to name a few) but no luck. Some suggested that you should check your Google Location Reporting under Locations in the Settings and if there isn’t an option then Google Now is not available in your location.

Some suggested that you could have declined to opt-in for using Google Now while setting up your device. If you did that then you can go to Settings, scroll down to account and choose your google account or create one if you haven’t. Then inside your Google account tap search then select “accounts and privacy”, tap on your Google account and then sign out. Then sign in again by selecting your Google account and Google Now setup screen should appear. If it doesn’t work out in the first time then repeat it 4-5 times. Some of the people from the support forums reported that it worked for them.

Tried it out? Still no luck?? Then  you’ve come to the right place. I tried it on my Galaxy Nexus and it worked in the first attempt.

Here’s a video showing Google Now working on my phone.

Just make sure you have an active internet connection and follow all the steps below carefully.

Step 1:

Turn on Airplane mode in your device. Now turn on Wifi and connect it to your Wifi network.

Step 2:

Go to Settings>Location  & switch to “Device only” mode

Step 3:

Install this app from Playstore (Fake gps – fake location)

Step 4:

Open the app and set the location to “Miami” (I chose Miami but you can select any other places in the USA which would get guaranteed Google Now support). It might ask you to enable mock location first, do that from the developer options in the settings and set the location to Miami.

Step 5:

Go to Settings and tap in “Google” under Accounts. Then select “Search”. Go to Accounts & privacy> Google Account and sign out.

Step 6:

Go to Settings>Apps>All and look for Google Play Services. Tap on it and Disable it. Then it may ask you to uninstall updates and restore to factory version, do it.

Step 7:

Go to Settings and tap in “Google” under Accounts. Then select “Search”. Go to Accounts & privacy> Google Account and sign in to your Google account.

Step 8:

Google Now setup screen should come up. Select I’m in. (It’s obvious).

Step 9:

Now it may prompt you to Re-enable Google Play Services, do it and an update might be available for Google Play Services, update it from Playstore. Then Turn off Airplane Mode. Uninstall Fake gps app and choose the location service of your choice under Settings>Location.

Step 10:

You did it. Give yourself a pat on the back and enjoy Google Now!

Do let me know if it worked or didn’t work on your Android Device.
