RealMe, the new sub-brand of Chinese smartphone giant Oppo, announced the launch of the Moonlight Silver colour variant of the RealMe 1 smartphone on 14 June. The new variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will be available at a pocket-friendly price of Rs. 10,990 and will be up for sale from 18 June, 12 PM on Amazon India. After being launched in 3GB RAM and 6GB RAM versions, RealMe 1 will now be available in Diamond Black, Solar Red and Moonlight Silver color variants.
Speaking on the launch, Mr Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer of RealMe India said, “The response to Realme 1 has been phenomenal. We sold lakhs of units only within our first two sales. Our phones were ranked as the Best Seller on Amazon India securing the top four positions. We are glad to announce a new Moonlight Silver edition to our range of phones. In line with the trend of reflecting effects in the industry, this limited-edition range offers shiny, reflecting glossy designs that cater to the needs of our customers. At the price point, we are offering, we are hoping that this new variant will be equally well received by the audience.”
Coming to its specifications, the RealMe 1 is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset is powered by an octa-core 2GHz MediaTek Helio P60 chipset paired with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of storage, depending on the variant. The phone also has a dual-core AI-specific chip for providing AI-assisted features.
The RealMe 1 comes with a 6-inch display bearing full-HD+ 1080×2160 pixels resolution and 84.75 screen-to-body ratios. Talking about camera, this smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with a LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera. The front camera on the phone also assists in Face Unlock feature that unlocks the phone in just 0.1 seconds. The company has also integrated Beauty 2.0 feature in the front camera that offers 296-point facial recognition. Both the front and rear cameras support AR stickers.
The RealMe 1 supports all basic connectivity that includes Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, and GLONASS. It measures 156×75.3×7.8mm and weighs 158 grams. It will pack a 3410 mAh battery and its sharp AI processor doesn’t affect its performance or heat up the phone. There is no fingerprint sensor in this device.
Oppo boasts that it applied stringent quality control and executed around 10,000 drop tests, 100,000 button tests, 10,000 USB tests to ensure the durability of the Realme 1 smartphone. Besides, it also pledged to open more than 500 Oppo service centres across India. This smartphone launched by Oppo focused on offering great design with powerful specifications and at a budget-friendly price.
