The Asus 8Z is smaller than the other flagships available in the market. But it does make it a solid contender for a compact enjoyable experience. It carries a premium feel to it. It uses a Gorilla Glass Victus on the front.

The screen size might look small at the first glance as it’s 5.9 inches. It’s an AMOLED display with an FHD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has a high refresh rate of 120 hertz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The display gets quite bright and it makes it a great choice for mobile gaming. The peak brightness can hit 1100 nits.

The ASUS 8Z runs on a Snapdragon 888 SoC that comes paired with Adreno 660 graphics. It has 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage. It simply means that this is a beast of a device and can handle multiple tasks quite easily. You can play a lot of resource-demanding games on this smartphone with ease. It can take it all. It has Bluetooth 5.2 with Wi-Fi Direct and NFC. It supports 5G  and has dual-SIM slots.

Talking a little about its software, the ASUS 8Z uses Android 12 that comes with the ZEN UI skin. It is somewhat close to stock Android but it still needs a lot of refining and polishing and maybe some extended years of support too.

We have played COD Moile on the highest graphic regularly for weeks, there are no lag or frame drops. I see battery drain 95% to 45% in 2 hours of playing COD mobile. It sometimes warms up a little in summer but is not heated, which is normal for such types of games. The only issue I found is that sometimes screen responses delays a bit while playing. The delay is very little you may not notice that. I played on it daily for more than a month and overall my gaming experience is very good.
