We got the early Unit for Redmi Note 4 to Test and Review from China, so let’s see how it actually performs and daily use. Rest you can also buy it from China for about 190$ which is pretty cheap, but if you are going to import it using DHL or any other premium shippers you may need to pay extra customs. In my case everything was being included that amount.

The Device which I have used to review is a 3GB/64GB Model. There is also a Lower end Model which you can buy as per your budget.

Now starting with the Design and the built of Redmi Note 4, this times the phone houses in Full Metal Chassis and no plastic is being used in its built. The design seems to be inspired from its previous models but this times the back curved has changed into flat smooth back. Note 4 adds curves on the edges to add a perfect the grip while holding it in hand.

On the Top portion of the phone, you will get a 3.5mm audio jack, beside it an IR blaster and a secondary MIC over there. The Display colors are more natural, and blacks are proper dark which means while watching movies and playing games the experience which you will get is going to be awesome. The Sunlight legibility this time in Redmi Note 4 is not as good when we compare it will be its previous device which was Redmi Note 3. May be it is because this time colors are more natural and darks are more deep. The Brightness level of Redmi Note 4 is also a bit low compare to redmi note 4, but overall the screen for movies and games and daily use is much better. This time you won’t be getting more strain on your eyes while using or reading books on the Phone just because of deeper blacks and natural colors.

Viewing Angle is good and you won’t be getting any chance to complain about it. While watching movies from odd angle won’t affect you in any way. There are different color modes, which you can change as per your usage by going into the setting panel.

The phone comes with Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 Deca-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz which features a 3GB/2GB Ram. This combo makes it a perfect device with this price. Out of 64 GB of internal storage you get about 56 GB free, even after that you can expand it to up-to 256GB because the phone support Hybrid SIM tray.

This power of Deca-core processor won’t disappointing you in any way. We can run multiple apps and games on continuous bases and experienced no lag or frame drop or glitch at all. But here i wanna add one more point that in MIUI 8 there is a function using which you switch the mode.

  1. Normal Mode –  In this mode you will be getting better battery, with best possible optimized power in the phone. It optimized the phone in such a way that it will give you more battery life with minimal effect in performance which is not noticeable until and unless you are playing high intensive games on normal mode. The Antutu Score of normal mode is also a little bit low compared to Performance mode.
  2. Performance mode – In this mode most of the cores start working by giving you the maximum power for any kind of high intensive work. In this mode Antutu Score is way better as well as the gaming is lag free, even by using the PSP EMULATOR you can play GOD OF WAR Series on your Redmi Note 4 Flawlessly. Now you can assume its hardware and its performance in performance mode. One more thing I wanna add over here is that even after long high-end gaming we won’t found any heating issues.

Over all, you can do intense multitasking on Redmi Note 4, and you won’t face any lag in daily use just be careful which mode are you using and which is your priority.

Camera

So, this time Redmi note 4 comes up with 13 MP rear Camera with some improved camera app with its latest MIUI 8. This time they have improved a lot with there sensor and much better bokeh effect while focusing from rear camera. This time focus is also much better and fluid. The images came out really good with some great colors and saturation. Rest, I have already posted different camera review on my YouTube channel.Coming to the Low light images, it comes up with a little bit noise.

Coming to the front facing camera of 5 MP which according to me do not perform well just like the previous one.

If I compare it with LeEco le2, front cam is much better than redmi note 4 don’t know why this has been done by them.

Redmi Note 4 out of the box is loaded with MIUI 8 which is the latest release from Xiaomi as of now. It is loaded with some really awesome features, and the best among them I like is the Dual app mode and Dual System using which you can live you personally and office life in two parallel ways.

The Redmi Note 4 is a pretty decent smartphone for its price. It performs pretty well with no complaints. Overall, for normal as well as for heavy user it is the perfect device. But coming to the selfie lover, I will just say no to them.

Narendra Modi’s BHIM app – How to use it and all you need to know

As we all know that the Govt. of India has recently launched a Unified payment app named BHIM, which goes by ‘Bharat interface for money’.  The app is designed to make cashless payment more ease and user-friendly. The app is currently available only for Android, iOS and Windows users have to wait for official release.

What is the app?

Basically, BHIM is a payment solution application, which is based on Unified payment Interface (UPI) from the National Payments Corporations of India (NPCI). Users who have already created their UPI address from their respective bank application, which is linked to your registered mobile number, will also be able to use the BHIM app for the everyday transaction.

How to use the app?

  1. Install the application from the Google Play Store.
  2. Register & verify your mobile no. *SMS charges will apply.
  3. Create a four-digit In-app password.
  4. Select your associated bank.
  5. Set UPI Pin for the account.

Points to remember:

  • The phone number you intend to use for the transaction has to be the same number registered with the respective bank A/c.
  • Maximum 10,000 Rs per transaction is allowed, and a sum of 20,000 Rs can be sent in 24 hours.
  • To activate the UPI. You just have to put in the last six digits of your debit card and the expiry date. It will get authenticated via an OTP.
  • You don’t need an Aadhaar card, or an Aadhaar-linked bank account to use this application.
  • You can also send money as the previous way via Bank A/c number and IFSC code.
  • The app itself has the list of UPI supported the bank. If your bank is not in that list, then it is safe to say that you can’t use the app.
  • By default, the registered mobile number is set as the UPI virtual payment address (VPA). You can also create another VPA via the app, for example, abc123@upi.

Flaws in the app

Right now the app is facing so much issue on the software basis. Few users are getting messages like ‘Device binding failed’. So, if you are having the same issue try reopening the app multiple times.

Some of the users are receiving messages like ‘Unable to generate OTP’. In this case, the OTP are being generated after a while, that’s why the app is not able to read the SMS. You can simply try another time.

Below that you can find a fingerprint sensor which works pretty fine and can recognize your fingerprint in 360 Degree. Below that at the rear panel there is Asus branding and Antenna Lines, which also act as a highlighter to the design. Now coming to Vivo V5 at the back it comes up with 13MP camera with single LED Flash and no Laser AF. Below that you will get Antenna Lines and Vivo Logo which looks pretty dope.

Moving finally to the front panel of both the phones, Asus zenfone 3 Max comes up with 8MP camera beside it some sensors and nothing else whereas when we move towards Vivo V5 it has a 20 MP front facing shooter with a moonlight flash which is not at all ordinary flash like other LED flash. This is the world’s first phone that comes up with 20 MP front Facing camera and take my words it really is awesome.

Coming little bit on both the phones in front, Zenfone 3 Max comes with Back navigation keys which do not light up and seems little bit cheap whereas Vivo V5 has backlit keys and in center a home capacitive key which does not press up and works as a fingerprint sensor. But this fingerprint is little bit faster compared to Zenfone 3 Max, but if you are a normal user you won’t be able to find any difference between them.

Now here is comes up a huge difference between both the phones, Asus Zenfone 3 Max comes up with FHD display with Pixel density of 403 ppi whereas Vivo V5 comes with a normal HD screen that will give you the pixel density of 268 ppi. Due to better software tweak on Vivo v5 you won’t find any big difference in the display, but as soon as you will start watching movies and playing games, major differences can be noticed very easily. Color, brightness, pixels, saturation, clarity all are much better on Asus Zenfone 3 Max. Viewing Angles of both the devices seem to be same and no color fade is there when you are using the device from off angles.

When we previously reviewed Zenfone 3, it was made up of with premium glass and with some unique and luxury looking design. But this time zenfone 3 Laser design has been redesigned by removing the glass and adding brushed metal finish to it, which make the device look simpler. This time still they have worked a lot on the design and built. Even after using full metal body the device only weight’s you 150 gm. So starting with the front they have added a 2.5D curved glass on its 5.5″ FHD Display panel which adds extra protection and some looks to the phone.

On the top portion of the phone, you will be getting a 3.5mm audio jack and beside it a secondary noise cancellation MIC.

Turning around to the down portion, it houses single Speaker grill, beside it a normal Micro USB port and a primary mic. Micro USB port supports OTG feature and no quick charge.

Coming to the left side of the phone you will get a supports of a Dual Sim tray which supports single sim + Micro SD card up to 128 gigs or Dual Sim which make it a hybrid SIM tray.

The laser AF works pretty fine and camera samples are already included below in this post. Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes with a 5.5-inch FHD with a resolution of 1920×1080 and pixel density of 403 ppi. The Front is covered with 2.5D curved glass as well as a Gorilla glass 3 which adds up double protection to the display. The colors are more towards natural side and as of my usage i haven’t found any color shift while watching the screen from odd angles. Watching movies and playing games won’t be disappointing you in any way.

Coming to the Sunlight legibility, before getting the update i was disappointed from outdoor visibility, but as of now after update they have fixed that issue and brightness level is increased. Now, i am facing no problem while using the phone in sunlight.

Rest you can always tweak around with different color modes, and adjust it as per your eyes.

Performance

The Zenfone 3 Laser comes with an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with 4 Cortex A53 and 4 Cortex A53 cores that are clocked at 1.2Ghz and 1.5Ghz respectively which gives you decent performance and some great battery life to the phone. To support some high intensive games, the phones is powered by Adreno 505 GPU a 4GB of Ram which adds up decent and smooth multitasking.

While in daily use you are not going to find any lag in the phone, but as you push it a bit hard like chatting and at the same time watching movie and browsing it may lag or may not, it will depend on how you are using the device.

Rest, it can handle any game, i have played GTA, NOva and many other and no lag or frame drops were found. It heats up a little bit, but it is Okay with this thin metal body and long time game play.

The Focus works pretty fine after the update but still there is noise in every image which need to be tweaked by software. I think this is due to the some bug in their camera software which can be fixed in other updates. Rest while recording video you have electronic image stabilisation which works pretty fine but still Zenfone 3 is better in it.

The camera software is quite good if we don’t think about that noisy bug which we get in every picture we click from any Asus phone. The best part of the software is their manual mode  that offers a number of options like manual focus, shutter speed etc. There’s huge range of inbuilt options that includes Nightshot, Super Resolution, Beautification and many more. Zenfone 3 Laser comes up with 3,000 mAh battery with some great battery optimisation in their software. Still their is no support for fast charging support. The phone can easily lasts you more than a day or even more. This is with a regular use, which includes managing email, social networks, WhatsApp and youtube videos and some small gaming.

In heavy gaming and immense usage, the battery will still last you a day very easily.

Overall, the device performs pretty fine. If we compare in online market or with the offline market, there are few other brands which is going to give competition to zenfone 3 laser. But, the built, battery and camera focus is much battery from other.
