5 Best Software for Your Desktop Computer

0

A new computer is just as satisfying a feeling as a new home, new clothes or any new piece of technology. It’s a chance to wipe the slate clean and try something new. Before you’ve re-installed your software, it’s good to ask yourself what should be prioritized. Now you have a new, un-cluttered computer, you may wish to only download the most useful applications.

Google Chrome

In recent years, the battle of the internet browsers seems to fall between Google Chrome and Firefox, with Internet Edge being just far too buggy for its own good. It’s renowned for its speed and efficiency when finding local businesses and relevant information. It’s been argued that creatives seem to prefer Firefox, however, Google Chrome has its uses for everyone – no matter what profession.

Cloud protection

Anyone who has accidentally discovered a Trojan on their computer will know how slow it can make your computer. Virus protection is vital for anyone on any computer. It helps performance and also protects your information. For those who have plenty of information on a cloud storage provider, then it’s wise to find cloud security solutions that are dependable, such as those from McAfee, as soon as possible.

Music hub

Music, while you’re working, is one of life’s most pleasant conveniences. Downloading software by companies such as Spotify will allow you to open their application and play endless podcasts and albums from your favorite presenters and artists. They will also usually have premium services that offer more flexibility with what you pick.

Photo editing software

You don’t have to be a creative or photographer to want or need photo-editing software. In fact, just about anyone might need the use of a photo-editor to crop out unwanted images, tone-down ugly colors, and adjust portraits. This is useful for social media and special occasions, when you want to get your personal photos just right. Professional packages such as Photoshop come for free with a reduced, but still extensive set of tools, such as Photoshop Express.

Word processor

Whether it’s a job application or piece of work, life without a word processor is actually very difficult. They are universally instrumental to most forms of work, and are often the template for any formal document. Not having a word processor on your laptop will soon become a nuisance if you are unable to access their work properly. While there are many variants, Microsoft is realistically the most-used software for word-processors. Apple’s Pages is compatible with Apple’s MacBook, however, it also does allow you to save it as a Word document, which is very handy for universal sharing.

What types of software will be useful to you will mostly depend on your interests. You may wish to swap out Spotify for Steam if you’re more inclined to use your computer for gaming instead of music, or you may be loyally devoted to Firefox, in spite of Google Chrome’s swiftness. Whichever you choose, always make sure your computer is safe and protected first – it could cost you the price of a new computer.

Google’s Foldable Device Caught on Patent BluePrint, Looks like a Book

There has been an evolution in the design of display devices, from straight to curved and now foldable. Samsung and Huawei came up with their foldable designs with the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X launched earlier this year. Google is not too far from coming up with a device having a unique design.

Google LLC applied for a patent at the end of 2018, regarding the foldable device trend. The patent has been published recently on 27th June 2019 that shows that the device will most probably have a multi-page foldable design display panel that works just like a book. The device aims to combine multiple OLED panels through a “book cover” spine. The back or the hinge along with display pages also holds various other components like the battery, processor, memory and the camera of the phone.

Mario Queiroz, leading development of Google’s Pixel phones, just ahead of Google I/O 2019 in May announced, “We’re definitely prototyping the technology. We’ve been doing it for a long time.” The patent shows that both the display panels- front and back, can be used as a screen. The image by Lets Go Digital shows that the phone could have up to five display pages, even more. These could indicate that the display pages could be disconnected from the hinge of the phone allowing multiple screens to work like contents in a book.

This design is just a work in progress and in the improvement phase. Chances are that the device might not even launch commercially, but that makes it something to look forward to. Either way, Google is going to put a new face to the designs of foldable smartphones.

3 Tips for Gauging Your Company’s Online Product Experience

The world of business today is nothing like it has ever been before. Companies are having to become more customer-centric, help portals are opening up to streamline help via self-service support solutions online, and businesses are finding that even something as simple as implementing a customer portal software not only makes business happen quicker, but things stay regimented as well.

This led us to dig deeper at how entrepreneurs can adapt in a world where the customer experience (CX) has finally taken the front seat. It doesn’t seem to be giving up anytime soon either. So that leaves us with just one more choice in our arsenal of solutions, and that’s to dig into the ever-evolving world of customer service in hopes of uncovering further enhancement opportunities.

1. Get the attention of your customers and keep it.

One of the best ways to grab anyone’s attention, no matter who it is, is to serve them up nothing but the best experience. This means being polite, having a quality product, simplifying online/digital processes, and much more.

Believe it or not, around 70% of the buying decisions made today are solely based on the customer experience alone, and it’s quickly growing. This is because as customers, we know what we can settle for and what is just simply bad business. With the internet came a smarter world and access to information many thought wouldn’t ever be so easily accessible.

So, when you start evaluating your overall customer experience, it is the perfect time to also fully evaluate the product experience. This will ensure you manage not only the customer’s experience as a whole but their specific experience with the product as well. For example, a customer may love your company, brand, mission, etc., but if they can’t easily use your product, whether it’s your software or online platform, you can easily lose them to a competitor.

2. Digital Experience Management: Grasping the Basics While Furthering Growth

Whether customers are using your software for the first time or the thousandth, their experience matters. The ability to manage this experience and provide the best service is what can make or break a company. Thankfully, Forbes published a comprehensive guide that covers many aspects of digital experience management.

Essentially, the digital marketing experience is every, and any, contact a customer has with your brand/company. To aid in this, especially when it comes to online formats and/or software, you will want to make sure not only your customers are able to use it with ease, but your employees as well. What’s the point of a great software if you don’t have a team able to provide support?

Of course, over the past few years we’ve been forced to pay closer attention to the customer experience and now we have finally allowed it to flow into every nook and cranny. This way we can ensure businesses know how to easily take the modern route when it’s time to do so.

3. It’s in the numbers. Thankfully, we now have customer experience analytics/data.

The proof is always in the numbers when it comes down to it. We already know we live in a more complex world now too, so there are all kinds of numbers and cryptic strings that stand for something unique every time.

Thankfully, we also have dedicated developers on the scene ready to make things as simple as possible. Software developments help us gather, interpret, and store data to be used as a tool in enhancing either the product experience, the overall customer experience, or both if drastic measures must be taken.

Don’t forget though, now that the Internet has changed where and how we do business, it’s a lot easier to market and promote businesses than ever before. So take advantage of the opportunities modern technology offers and ensure your customer and product experience are top-notch.

Oppo Showcases its Under-Display Selfie Camera at MWC Shanghai

At MWC Shanghai 2019, where various smartphone developing company introduced various models, OPPO, a Chinese consumer electronics and mobile communication company introduced a prototype of a smartphone with an under display selfie Camera. OPPO claims that the algorithm and the technology showcased at the MWC event includes haze removal, HDR and white balance including a bezel-less phone with an unbeatable selfie camera that no other smartphone has to offer.

Speaking more about the design and features of the smartphone, OPPO professed that the display of the smartphone uses a custom transparent material which offers a redesigned pixel structure hence allowing the light to pass through the camera. The company assures that the display area over the underlying camera still functions with touch control and hence one need not worry about display or the image quality. Moreover, the sensor is also professed to be larger than the other selfie cameras, with a wider aperture lens in front.

The image of the prototype showed at the event however exposes that the camera under the display is visible from certain angles. Though the concern still remains the same that putting a screen in front of a camera will, in turn, reduce the photo image quality. For this OPPO says that the image shot with the front cameras is “On par with the mainstream devices”.

In order to know whether the above-mentioned information is valid or not, we will have to wait until the smartphone is launched in the near future. We will only know the pros and cons once we have used the technology for ourselves.
