we have seen many compact laptop in last few years, Brands are trying to make them more compact and lightweight. People want more power with more compactness. They need devices which can be carried anywhere with ease that too without compromising with the power.
Today we are going to take a look at Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA, which is not exactly a laptop and not even a tablet. It is the combination of both as we can use it in tablet mode as well work on it with a normal keyboard. The touch screen feature is very being used to me, but when we are going to give some kind of presentation we can fold the Zenbook flip in 360 degree and use it like a tablet.
Design of Asus Zenbook flip UX360CA is similar to what we get in other premium laptops from Asus. They have maintained the same Circle Concentric Design all over with Big asus Logo on the Top. The complete built is made up of premium metal, which seems to be very elegantly crafted. The only thing which i noticed is while in tablet mode it feels little bit heavy and all the other edges seems to start getting uncomfortable because of it sharpness. The Asus Zenbook Flip comes with 1.3KG of weight which is decent for this hardware and built but i would suggest them to rounded the edges to get better feel on long tablet mode usage. In other words i would say it is still “ultra” portable.
One more thing, the UX360 does have flex around the keyboard, which we also see in other ultrabooks because they left a bit space inside the body. area. Still it won’t affect your typing experience as that flex can only be notices when you press that area pretty hard. We also get a flex in UX360’s screen, but the aluminium frame which we get along it, gives great support to it.
We get proper travel space for typing on Zenbook Flip UX360, but still they are missing out with backlight on the keyboard. Backlight keys are seems to be necessary these days that too when one is spending so much on buy this portable device. Rest keyboard is fast and you are surely going to love your typing on it.
We also get nice metallic trackpad which is works well and will give you great feel. It seems to be like using a high end Dell XPS series trackpad, but not like what we get in Macbook. We get all Windows 10’s gestures for multitasking and accessing the Notification Center. While using left or right click it will give you nice tactile and audible feedback, and the pointing device drivers offer great response and accuracy not having a single issue with the track pad works really well with great built.
Display
Asus Zenbook Flip Ux360 comes with Full HD LCD IPS Display panel with the resolution of 1080p variant. They have done quite nice job with the display part. It looks well even in bright sunlight. Even the touch response what we get on the screen is really smooth.
The issue which i faced in the display it is bit reflective and fingerprint magnet just like other smartphones. Using it in sunlight or even in low light that glossy finish won’t give you really good experience. So. i will suggest you get one Matt lamination screen guard for the display which will convert the screen from glossy to matt as well as give you additional protection to the screen. The maximum Brightness at which Asus UX360 gives is 214 luminescence.

Asus Zenbook Flip is extremely Thin and as we know when any of such device get thick brand remove all the necessary ports which are required in daily usage. But this time asus has kept all the port which are required and still was able to fit all stuff in that slim body. The UX360 features two USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, mini HDMI, 3.5mm headphone jack and even a full-sized SD card reader, nothing is removed everything is present.
One thing which i think Asus has compromised is its placement of speakers. UX360 speakers are placed beneath the body, which is bit awkward sometime because when we place the laptop or lapbook on bed or any other cushion we can hardly listen the audio. These kind of placement require particularly some hard surface beneath it. Even after when the laptop is converted into a tablet mode, the speakers sound get muffled since they’re covered with the screen back. But if you using the laptop on table it will work well. Bass is low, mids and treble is correct.
Performance
Coming to the main part which is performance, here Asus Zenbook Flip UX360 comes with Intel Core M3 Processor which is packed up with 4GB Ram and Intel HD integrated graphic card for normal graphic usage which include, nominal gaming, Photo editing, Watching HD movies and Web Browsing. If you go beyond it, like high end video editing and other stuff, it will just burn you away. Made for normal and portable stuff.

If you are doing a high end multi tasking job then also it will show you some sloppiness, but won’t hang in any way. This is a normal issue which we get in every convertable these days, because so much is packed in small piece or body that they don’t even get any further space to update it with some other high end stuff. Still with this specs and compactness i am happy using it for portable work.
Overall decent performance won’t expect too much with this.
Battery life
Asus ZenBook Flip UX360 comes with 12 hours of battery life as per the brand but when we use it really in this cruel world we get about 7 hours 30 minutes battery life in which we have seen a movie, testing normal benchmarks and other small stuffs like ms word, ms excel. We were using laptop audio and no Earphones with screen brightness to 40%.
Overall i would say it will be easily up for you whole day of normal usage which includes web browsing and other small stuff. If you use it intensely with high end graphics work it will surely die in 3 to 4 hours max.
Verdict
Asus has worked quite hard in making this UX360 zenbook flip. It’s a good laptop but if you really want to use touchscreen with a tablet-style functionality. The price at which it is available in considered to be decent as we are getting 512GB High speed SSD.
Korean technology giant Samsung will be investing Rs 4195 crore in India by expanding there Noida Plant. I know it’s pretty late with coolpad Note 5 lite, but i would say in this price they are offering too much. Great Built with some decent specs with great pricing. We have already seen their previous devices like Coolpad Note 3, Coolpad Note 5 which worked pretty well in the market because of decent specs and very affordable pricing.

Coolpad Note 5 Lite is available in two colors Gold and Black and personally i like black one rest color is always a personal preference we cannot recommend color to anyone. Rest color choice is a never ending discussion. Starting with the front part here we get a 8-megapixel shooter beside a front flash, an earpiece, LED Notification and different sensors.
Coming below we get 5” HD Display, which is covered with 2.5D curved glass which gives additional looks to the phone and rest no info on adding any extra protection on it.
Sliding little bit down here we get Back capacitive keys which are printed like we see in other coolpad budget devices and don’t light up in night.
Coming to the bottom portion of the phone here we get a Micro USB port, beside it a primary MIC and nothing else which need to be mentioned. The Phone is not having fast charging and only support normal 5 Volts at 1.5Amp charging.
Turning to the top we get a 3.5mm audio jack and nothing much which need to be mentioned over here.
Turning to the left side of the phone, we get volume rockers which gives quite good haptik feel while you press them. No patterned feel or metal is used on the buttons.
Turning to the left we get Hybrid Sim Tray which support dual sims or Single Sin + Micro SD card slot that to up to 64GB only and power buttons.
Finally coming to the back panel of the phone here we get 13-megapixel camera beside that a Single LED flash, below that a Fingerprint sensor which really works pretty fast. Below that we get Coolpad branding a primary speaker. The really don’t like the placement of the speaker because when you put your phone on bed or any couch, you won’t be able to hear the ring of the phone.
Coolpad Note 5 Lite is Built out of metal and glass, the smartphone looks premium and seems to be like a premium device.
Display
Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a 5-inch HD with a resolution of 720 x 1280 and pixel density of 297 ppi. The Display colors are more towards natural tone and watching movies and playing games looks awesome. While watching a movie on to the phone give immense experience. The Sunlight legibility is also good because of its brightness. When we compare the brightness with other budget oriented phones, Coolpad Note 5 lite has better sunlight experience.
Viewing Angle is good, and blacks are decent enough. While watching movies from odd angle won’t affect you in any way. There are different color modes, which you can change by going into the setting panel as per your usage. Overall no complaints with display.
Performance
The phone comes with Mediatek Mt6735 processor which features a 3 GB Ram. This combo makes it a decent purchase in this price. Out of 16GB of internal storage you get about 9.5 GB free after that also you can expand it to up-to 64 GB as the phone support Hybrid SIM tray, which means whether you can install dual sim at the same time or you can install one sim and one micro SD Card in it.

We get Antutu Score of 30511 and certain other scores are also decent. We are getting minimum sensors in this price range from Coolpad this time. I have attached all the images which you see over here.

Camera
As always Coolpad comes up with great camera quality. This time also Coolpad Note 5 lite comes up with 13 MP rear Camera which capture really great images if we compare it with other device with same price segment, i would say great quality. Rest, i have already posted camera review on my YouTube channel. Photo Clarity has proper details and natural colors, you wont find any over saturation in the images. Focus is decent, and in low light images has a little bit noise in it.

Coming to the front facing camera of 8 MP with LED Flash in front as well as back, which makes the device with dual LED Flash. In this price getting Dual LED flash in front as well as back is great. Due to front flash you can click selfie even in no light and the quality will be top of the mark.
We also get different additional modes which you can fiddle around to get some great shots, and filtered shots. Depends on personal choice.
Software
Coolpad Note 5 Lite is loaded with Android Marshmallow 6.0 with a skin of Cool Ui 8.0 . There is no info about any update for Android 7.0 any soon. We have already seen coolpad Ui in previous device which has many great feature, and works well with this 3GB ram which they have provided. The software has no bloatware out of the box, Really very clean work done. They have tried to optimized the Ui quite well. But sometime due to the processor load it get bit laggy, but after few moments it get better when cache are made for particular apps.
Nothing is changes what we have seen in other coolpad Ui. EVerything works for me.
Battery
Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 2500 mAh battery. On moderate usage, the smartphone will easily last you a full day on a single charge. The battery works quite well for this device because of better software optimization and low screen resolution. You can watch 2 to 3 movies continuously on the phone. Rest no complains with the battery.
We do not get any kind of fast charging support and took approx 2 Hours to charge from 0% to 100% using a stock charger which we get inside the box.
Verdict
Overall for built i would say full marks, for camera really better images compare to other device with same price range.

But what if i would say you can make your own powerbank at home in just 2$ by using your old laptop batteries. Yes, this is true, we all have laptops and their batteries get faulty after few years, but those batteries never get dead and can be used to power up our small devices.

So, to start i just opened up my old laptop battery which was lying around in our home from past few years, i got 6 cells out of which only 4 were working perfectly. You can measure it using a power meter, if it is getting you the power of 3.8volts or 3.7 volts or even higher means it is working pretty fine.
After that i used some old Pins to connect all the batteries in serial orders which is normal and can be done by anyone. You can use normal wire also to connect them all, they will work in the same way to pass on the current to the board.

DIY-POwerbank-solder
After that you need to solder the board with positive point and negative point, which is already mentioned on the board as you can see in the image. Now, you are ready to go, try to connect the wire and start charging the phone. It will work perfectly. You can test different charging speed as per the compatibility of your phone. You can even use it with any USB LED light or any other device, it will work like a normal power bank.
Now, the main thing which arises is to make a case for it, you can use any plastic box container to fit all the stuff tight in it so that when you insert the USB in the board it wont loose up and wire get perfectly fit in it. In my case i have used a old cardboard box and used only Double sided tape to stick all the stuff inside it. I also used small cardboard scrap waste to tight up the board in the place. Once everything is done, i make different hole for LED, screen and USB ports. I was not so successful to get clean cuts for USB but you can take your time doing it.

Once everything is done, close the box using the same cardboard and install vinyl skin on it, to add extra and professional looks to it. I also used a small plastic stick and a plastic piece to use it as a button by plastic the plastic stick on the button so that after the casing the button can be used normally.

This is not an ordinary band, it is a very tiny device that can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Simply wear it like a smart band and you’re ready to go. The device generates vibration with its built-in body Conduction unit, and transmit that vibration via your hand to your fingertips. So, that when you place your finger to your ear, the vibrations echo is used to generate sound and you can make phone calls without using your phone. The Evapolar is a simple device. It has a small removable water tank, which you need to fill and connect it to the power supply. In 10 minutes the cartridge will absorb the water.
