OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition Launched

Oneplus which is a well known and well-established brand globally a few weeks back they announced there latest flagship which is Oneplus 5t. Personally using the device for about 1.5 weeks now and take my words I don’t think so in this price range any other brand is going to compete with Oneplus any now or then.

After the success of Oneplus 5t in India as well as globally they are soon going to come out with a special edition of Oneplus 5t which I think is going to be a huge success for Star Wars fans as this limited edition version will be based on Star war series.

The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition priced at Rs. 38,999 in India. Star Wars version is only available in an 8GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage variant. This means you need to pay 1000 bucks extra for this edition.

This device will also contain a Star Wars logo. The front seems to be perfectly black which is nice and slider button seems to be added to the Red color. According to our previous experience, the phone will probably be shipping with default Star Wars themes, ringtones, and other effects.

Rest, no other info is being out till now. It is assumed that this device might be India Exclusive with very few unit available after launch. Please comment down below what are your views on it and expectation from this new flagship limited edition.

How the Internet Helped Retail Environments to Evolve

0

In the not so distant past, people made a distinction between the digital world of e-commerce and the brick-and-mortar world of retail stores. The line that divided the online and the offline was clearly delineated, allowing businesses to determine their goals and design their strategies based on the normative expectations that surrounded these two very different spheres of commerce.

These days, this line between what is solely the domain of electronic commerce and that of physical retail spaces is slowly being eroded, thanks to the rise of new business models, processes, and technologies that are causing these separate worlds to intertwine.

Embracing the Omni-channel Approach

Presently, many businesses have begun to adopt a more omnichannel approach to retail and marketing. Supported by Internet technologies, this business model seeks to afford customers with a more seamless, more integrated shopping experience no matter the touch point or avenue involved in customer contact. Naturally, this has resulted in the convergence of online and offline shopping experiences in which buyers are presented with a multitude of options and technologies that are aimed at making shopping easier.

An apparel company, for instance, may choose to maintain both a brick-and-mortar outlet and an e-commerce shop to widen their customers’ options. After all, buyers may want to visit the physical shop to try on the clothes in person, or they may want to purchase these items in the comfort of their own homes.

In order to make the shopping experience as seamless as possible, a retailer will have to consider numerous other elements. For example, the launch of a merchandise can be promoted through social media or online advertisements, but it will have to be readily available once a customer decides to shop in person or online. The pricing also has to be consistent whether the person shops in-store or online and any existing promotion or incentive must be redeemable no matter the shopping format. The customer can be also provided with different options on how to obtain the merchandise, whether they want it delivered on their doorstep, picked up at the store after ordering online, or taken away from the store after shopping in person.

Revitalizing the Physical Retail Space

It may seem counterintuitive to think that Internet and digital technologies can improve in-store shopping experiences in physical retail spaces. After all, the idea of e-commerce appears to be antithetical to that of shopping in the real world. Nevertheless, as already mentioned, the Internet has made it possible for companies to integrate these two seemingly different worlds.

Beyond online marketing and e-commerce, however, Internet technologies are also effecting direct impacts on the physical retail environments themselves. To better understand the impact of the Internet and digital technologies on the in-store shopping experience, consider the study conducted by Google and partners, which revealed that 71% of in-store shoppers who use a smartphone for online research believed that their mobile phone has become more important to their in-store experience.

Not only do Internet and digital technologies provide customers with local information online before they actually go to the stores, they also allow retailers to customize buyers’ experiences once they are already in-store. This is why in-store Wi-Fi for retail environments are very important. The Google study showed that 42% of in-store shoppers conduct research while they shop in brick-and-mortar stores. Most of these people use search engines and the retailers’ own site or app to learn more about the items they are using. With this knowledge, retailers are presented with an opportunity to think of ways to better connect with their customers, as well as prevent them from choosing the competition.

If businesses can impress and engage savvy shoppers with innovative and personalized experiences that are tailored just for them, they can attract more customers with whom they can build long-lasting relationships. After all, the same study revealed that 85% of the respondents would be more likely to shop in destinations that provided personalized offers.

With this information as inspiration, businesses can then make use of the Internet and digital technologies to further enhance the customer experience. These can include employing QR codes and mobile coupons to deliver in-store promotions, using near-field communication technology and mobile payments to make it easier for cashless individuals to pay for merchandise, and capturing customer details in store so that they can be automatically signed up to your mailing list in exchange for deals and promos.

Within just a short period of time, Internet and digital technologies have greatly enhanced the way retailers conduct their business. As the digital and physical worlds of retail grow even closer, we can only expect more innovative solutions to be discovered and employed in the near future.

Centric A1 Review: Is it Redmi 4 Killer?

In 2016 we have seen so many brands coming up under smartphone category. Most of the brand was working with tier 3 and tier 4 cities in India, but after getting good success in the market they are coming up with some amazing products which can surely give competition to already well-established brand in the Market.

As of now, the device was available in the offline market only but a few days back they came up with an online program where they have started selling this flagship product(which they are calling) online on their own website at the very affordable pricing of Rs. 9,999.

Design & Built

Now starting with the Design and the built of CENTRiC A1, the phone houses in Full Metal Chassis and no plastic is being used in its built. The design seems to be inspired by other products available in the market. CENTRiC A1 also has a curve on the edges to add a perfect the grip while holding it in hand. They have given a 2.5D curved glass on its 5.5″ Display panel which adds extra protection as well as looks to the phone.

So, Starting with the top side here we get an 8-megapixel shooter beside it we get an earpiece and a Front LED flash which works well.

Centric-A1-Display-Techniblogic

Coming little bit down we get a 5.5″ Full HD Display which gives you the resolution of 1980 X 1080. The front is covered with 2.5D curved glass.

Centric-A1-Back-Navigation-Keys-Techniblogic

Surfing the phone down we get back navigation keys which are printed on the lower side of the phone and do not light up.

Centric-A1-Type-C-Port-Techniblogic

Coming to the lower downside of the phone we get dual speaker grill our of which left is having the primary MIC in it whereas the right one is having an actual speaker in it which is quite loud in the outdoor situation. Between them houses a USB Type C port which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 which is just amazing with this price and also support OTG. OTG is one of the most important feature these days.

Centric-A1-Audio-Jack-Techniblogic

Turing the phone to another side at the top we get 3.5mm Audio jack and a secondary noise cancellation MIC. Nothing else which we can find at the top.

Centric-A1-Sim-Tray-Techniblogic

Coming to the left side of the phone we get a Hybrid Sim tray slot which supports Dual Nano Sims at one time or we can use 1 Nano Sim and a Micro SD card up to 256 in another slot.

Centric-A1-Volume-Rockers-Techniblogic

Turning to the right we get Volume rockers and power lock key which works quite well with proper haptic feedback while using them.

Centric-A1-Fingerprint-Techniblogic

Finally coming to the back panel of the phone you will get a 13 MP camera besides that LED Flash and below that a FingerPrint sensor which works perfectly even with 360 Degree Recognition. At back, we also get a CENTRiC and DTS Audio Branding.

Display

Centric-A1-Front-Techniblogic

CENTRiC A1 comes with a 5.5-inch FHD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and pixel density of 401ppi. The Display colors are more natural, and blacks are proper dark which means while watching movies and playing games the experience which you will get is going to be awesome. The Sunlight legibility of CENTRiC A1 is quite good. Overall the screen for movies and games and daily use is nice. You won’t be getting more strain on your eyes while using or reading books on the Phone just because of deeper blacks and natural colors.

Viewing Angle is good and you won’t be getting any chance to complain about it. While watching movies from odd angle won’t affect you in any way. There are different color modes, which you can change as per your usage by going into the setting panel.

Performance

The phone comes with Snapdragon 430 processor which features a 3GB Ram. This combo makes it a perfect device for this price as this is going to give good competition to Xiaomi Redmi 4. Out of 32 GB of internal storage you get about 24.5 GB free, even after that, you can expand it to up-to 256GB because of the phone support Hybrid SIM tray.

We get Antutu Score of 45010 and certain other scores are also good. With this screen size and average selfie, they have also given all the sensors which are required by any normal person.

They have not removed any sensors. We can use this smartphone with a VR headset also. Even while using GPS it will give you proper accuracy as it also has magnetic and orientation sensor.

Coming to the gaming part, we can play almost all games. In my use, I have not seen any lag or frame drops even in Asphalt 8 high setting. Every game even in the high-end setting is working well. I have tried playing most of the games like Asphalt 8, Shadow Fight 3, Batman, Bully at Adreno 505 GPU with the support of Snapdragon 430 processor work well. I have also not seen any heating issue while long gaming in DELHI, INDIA Temperature.

Camera

Centric-A1-camera-Techniblogic

CENTRiC comes up with 13 MP rear Camera which comes out quite good with this price range. The rear camera seems to be even better than what we get in Xiaomi Redmi 4. We get better clarity and better bokeh with this price. Focusing on the device is good with the rear camera. The images came out really good with some great colors and saturation. Rest, I have already posted some camera shots downside. Coming to the Low light images, it comes up with a little bit noisy.

Coming to the front part here we get an 8-megapixel large sensor for selfies with a front LED flash in it. I would say taking selfies in good light will come out good but in low light, i would say Nah. Rest still it is very competitive with Xiaomi Devices.

Rest, we have a different option in the camera app which we can use and fiddle up with to get better shots.

Camera Samples

Software

Centric-A1-Software-Techniblogic

CENTRiC A1 out of the box is loaded with Android 7.1.1 which is Android Nougat as of now and we have no info about when they are going to roll out Android Oreo on this device. The software seems to be stock and almost no bloatware in it. Some basics applications like Word and Excel is present in the device which can be further used in daily use for basic office work. The best thing is the Stock android which we are getting. Many of the users will surely be going to love the clean UI which they are offering at this price.

Battery

Centric-A1-Back-Panel-Techniblogic

Coming to battery part of the phone which is its 3000 mAh Battery which works really well. It took me approx 1 hour 20 minutes to charge from 0 to 100% using its default charger. The best part of the phones is its feature of Quick Charge 3.0. This is because after LeEco lost there market no other brand came up with this massive specs in such affordability. Battery usage of the device is good. It will easily go to last you more than a day because of good software optimization.

Switching From Android To iOS? 5 Things You Must Know

If you have been an Android user and made up your mind to switch to iOS, then relax my friend you haven’t committed a sin, in fact, you have taken a smart decision. But, if you have been an Android user for quite a while now to accumulate a healthy amount of apps, videos, contacts, games, understandably, you must be having lots of questions crossing through your minds about what you can bring to your new phone.

Well, fortunately, you can bring all of your data and content, with a few notable exceptions. So, without any further ado, allow me to discuss 5 things you should know while switching from Android to iOS.

Moving Contacts

Before you go ahead and make a switch to Android to iOS, it is imperative that all your contacts are already synced with your Google account. If you really want to ensure this, all you need to do is to go to the webpage of Google contacts and just log in with your Google account.

Once you have assured that all your contacts are rightly synced with your Google account, now you can go to iOS settings > Mail > Contacts, Calendars, and finally tap on Add Account. At this stage, you need to select Google and fill in the details of your account. When you are done, make sure you have enabled the toggles on both Contacts & Calendars, then finally tap Save to finish it off.

Moving Data

While you are setting up your iPhone to relocate all your messages, photos, calendars, bookmarks, you can use ‘Move to iOS’ app on Android, but ideally, it is not advisable. I used this app and I liked it but having said that it really missed out on some of the data which may create some issues if you totally depend on it.

However, moving to iOS app comprise of an attractive feature that recognises the apps on your Android device and further it installs their equivalents from App Store to your Apple iPhone.

Moving Music

I am assuming that you are a big music fan as well and transferring all your music from your Android to iOS is one thing you want to do it without a hitch. In the event your music is DRM-free, all you need is to add your music to iTunes and sync it with your brand new iPhone. If your music has DRM, you will be needing to install an app in order to authorise it.

Some DRM is not supported on iPhone, so if you have an abundance of DRM music, make sure you have checked it before making a switch. Also remember, Windows Media files are not played on iPhone, so make sure you have changed them to AAC and Mp3 formats and then try syncing them.

Moving Photos

After music, the second most important thing for most of the people is photos. I am sure, just like everybody, you also don’t want to lose all your beautiful memories just because you have switched your phones. This is where you need to sync your phone’s content to your computer.

If you have synced the photos from your Android phone to one of the photo management programs on your computer, it is much easier to move your photos to your iPhone. If you are a huge fan of Apple, then you must be having a Mac and if you have it then you can easily sync your photos to iPhoto and you are good to go.

Moving Apps

Here is the major difference between both of these operating systems – Android apps don’t work on iPhone and vice-versa. So, if you have any favorite app on your Android phone, be informed that you won’t be able to take it to your iPhone. Fortunately, most of the Android apps does have iPhone versions as well or replacements that perform the same tasks.

Even if you need iPhone versions of the apps, you can’t be sure that your app data may also come with them. If there is an app that requires you to create an account or otherwise store your data in the cloud, you will be able to download all your data on your iPhone, however some apps store all your data on your phone.

Smartphones From Then to Now

0

If you’re younger, then you probably have no idea just how far smartphones have come since the early 1980s when they were the size of laptops. Everything’s changed; from the glossiness of the screen, to the size of the chassis and even the overall design.

In fact, the consumer is most happy that the phone has become affordable – unlike several decades’ ago, when only well-off businessmen would walk around with the large device. From the Motorola DynaTAC to the sophisticated iPhone 8 Plus, there have been some significant improvements.

Cell Phones of the 1980s

There’s a reason why the Motorola’s of the recent past weren’t called smartphones: they were large, unwieldy and not very smart. The DynaTAC 8000X of 1983, for example, wasn’t even very portable by conventional standards – you’d have needed a briefcase for it. There was no screen to speak of – just an LCD strip that read the numbers as you dialed them in. The Super AMOLED screens were still a solid 25 years away.

Nokia Ushers in 1994 With a Real Cell Phone

By the 1990s, there still wasn’t that much demand for the cell phone; at least, certainly not enough to warrant the making of SnapDragon processors and dual-core load handlers. However, Nokia started making strides in design and portability with the first cell phone that could actually be placed inside your pant’s pocket.

Motorola improved on the design a few years later, when in 1996 the digital products company produced a flip phone with an actual display screen. The screen was, of course, extremely modest by today’s standards – but that is to be expected.

Before the 1990s were out, Nokia would produce the first modern smartphone with the 9000 Communicator. It had a processor that was modeled on an actual desktop computer, with a mini keyboard attached to the bottom half. The screen even looked like a small desktop.

The Early 2000s and Beyond

The free market economies of both Finland and Sweden were producing competitive cell phones at a breakneck pace; with every generation a marked improvement over the last. In 2000, the Ericsson R380 (Sweden) debuted with its decidedly portable size and fast processor.

Nokia (Finland) answered with the Nokia 3310, which would go on to sell almost 150 million models throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Ericsson responded with the R320, which sported an actual Internet browser in its most rudimentary form. Together, these companies proved that competition is the engine that drives robust economies.

The Modern Smartphone Competition

In 2008, Apple launched the iPhone 3G after its early forays into the cell phone market. In an original marketing scheme, the House that Jobs Built linked the release of the phone with a robust selection of applications from the Apple Store, which heightened the public’s desire for the phone over the Android competition at the time. The screen was a pure beauty, crisp, clear and elegant while also being minimal. It filled the width and height of the phone, giving the user more real estate than any other phone before that time.

Smartphones From Then to Now 13

Android and Apple iOS Continue the Battle

Although there are other competitors, most of them – with the exception of the declining Blackberry – use the Android or iOS operating systems for their smartphones. The screens and processors are better and more powerful than ever before, with Samsung tablets and phones battling it out with Apple’s iPhones year-after-year as we near the 2020s. Consumers have their pick of these high-powered devices, and the call for ever more improvements makes it clear that we’ve just scratched the surface when it comes to the power of the smartphone.

3 Tips to helping you get great customer feedback on Amazon

Business owners need to learn how to handle their customers well. Customer feedback and reviews in any business can either break or make a business. Online platforms like Amazon where numerous reviews are made by customers that have used various products also use customer feedback and reviews.

The feedback received benefits both the customers and the seller. It is very important for sellers to know what their customers are saying about their products which play a great role in the growth and expansion of a business.

The difference between customer feedback and product reviews is that product reviews give the consumers more information about the product’s quality and performance among other features that they need to know. On the other hand, customer feedback is based on a score using the 1 to a 5-star system where the consumer rates the product. A seller needs to know how to receive great customer feedback and below are some tips on how this can be ensured.

Automating FBA product review requests

It is difficult to personally message every customer that purchases a product. Sellers can opt to automate Amazon seller feedback and product review request. This option is effective and saves time. Automating FBA product review requests can be effected by the use of Amazon feedback software which is an email autoresponder that tailors messages to consumers optimizing each message for success.

The software is fast with a high delivery rate, its design is user-friendly, and it comes pre-loaded with split tested templates for email conversion among other functions. You can easily use the software to get more product reviews from your customers.

Responding to questions

Customer satisfaction should be among the top priorities in any business. Customers can gain confidence in the product that you have through engagement. Respond to emails every morning and during the day within 24 hours. This enables the customer to make a quick decision on whether to get the product or not.

Not every customer will be pleased with your products and some may post a negative review or a 1-star rating which should not disappoint you. As a seller, you should work hard at ensuring that if there is any gap to be filled or upgrades that can be made; you work on them so as to get better customer feedback and ratings. Reach out to your customers and find out what was wrong. Was it the delivery time or unmatched descriptions? This will help you work on improving your products and services.

Provide relevant information

Purchase of a product by a new customer is determined by other customer’s experiences. Provide the correct information on the description and be honest about what you sell to avoid any negative feedback from unsatisfied customers.

Customer feedback has a very huge impact on businesses and it can convince the consumer to prefer your products over others that serve the same function, assure customers of quality products, push customers to purchase items and also serve as oral recommendations where a satisfied customer can inform another person requiring a similar service about your products.

Display

Asus-Zenfone-AR-Cover-Techniblogic

Display of Asus Zenfone AR comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 515 ppi density. The display gives you the ratio of 16:9, which means no extra side black bars while watching movies or videos. With this price and feature i think giving Quad HD is the another best part if the phone. The Display colors are sharp tone and watching movies, and playing games look not even great but awesome. While watching a movie on to the phone give you immense experience. The Sunlight legibility is also good because of its really great brightness. No complaints regarding sunlight legibility. The front panel is also coated with a Gorilla Glass 4 which also adds up better protection to this large awesome display.

Viewing Angle is good, and blacks are decent enough. While watching movies from odd angle won’t affect you in any way. Overall no complaints with the display rather I loved it as nothing else can be expected and nothing much higher till now in phones are available.

Performance

The phone comes with a latest Snapdragon processor which is Snapdragon 821 processor which features a 8 GB Ram. This combo makes it a top Notch device. I know now Snapdragon 835 processor is common but still this device is a beast with so many features and sensors in it. Out of 256 GB of internal storage, you get about 214 GB free after that you can also expand it to up to 2TB as the phone support dedicated tray for Micro SD Card.

We get Antutu Score of 156740 and certain other scores are also good. With this screen size and great selfie, they have also given all the sensors which are i think available in the market till now. Not even a single sensor is being left out in the market. We can use this smartphone with a VR headset also.

Coming to the gaming part, we can play almost all games. In my use, i have not seen any lag or frame drops even in Asphalt 8 high setting. Every game even in the high-end setting is working well. I have tried playing most of the games like Asphalt 8, Shadow Fight 3, Batman, Bully and Adreno 530 GPU with the support of Snapdragon 821 processor work well. I have also not seen any heating issue while long gaming in DELHI, INDIA Temperature.

Camera

Asus-Zenfone-AR-Camera-Techniblogic

The Zenfone AR back camera comes with a 23-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture, with added different sensor which help to take some great shots with this device. We also get optical image stabilization (OIS) in back as well as front facing camera which is not highlighted by the brand. Rest, there is no major change in any hardware part of camera in Asus Zenfone AR.

Rest I am gonna attach some Camera Samples below which will help you our to get battery idea about phone front as well as back camera.

Camera Samples

Battery

Battery on the smartphone is pegged at 3300mAh allowing you to sail through an entire day even with aggressive usage and continuous photography. it took me approx 1.5 Hours to charge from 0 to 100% using its default charger which support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Battery usage of the device is good. It will easily go to last you more than a day because of good software optimization.

You will not find even a single complaint regarding the battery part of this phone.

Verdict

Overall i am just loving the device. The main thing which i noticed is that, there is no awareness about the product in the market. I asked different top architects and interior designers no one have any info about such product available in the market.

Pros

  • All sensors
  • Great Built
  • Quick Charge 3.0
  • Hardware Beast
  • Best in AR(Augmented Reality) and VR(Virtual Reality)

Cons

  • Bit higher at Price
  • No awareness

Virtual Data Rooms: Everything You Need to Know

In today’s world of technology, most companies have, are in the process of, or at least have an aspiration to go 100% paperless, and most all companies at least rely on software and computers for day to day operations. As such, much of the previous paper documents have shifted to an online portal of entry, storage, and transfer. A virtual data room is one of these portals.

What Are Virtual Data Rooms?

Virtual Data Rooms, also called a VDR, a document filing system, or electronic repository, is simply a secure online database that a company can use to store and share confidential info. It’s most commonly used for corporate financial transactions and other sensitive and high-value corporate data and deals needing to be imputed, stored and sent securely. In a nutshell, it allows safe transport and storage of records like legal documents, tax financials, and documents on intellectual property.

Why Use Virtual Data Rooms?

Physical data rooms, that is a physical location dedicated to storing paper documents for companies, are as time consuming as they are cumbersome. They have many constraints, such as the continual need to have the actual physical space on site to sort, store, and destroy documents. VDRs take the place of these without any of the limitations and constraints. The applications are numerous, including:

Also Read: 3 Ways Data Lineage is Driving the Next Generation of DLP

1. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

Due diligence within mergers and acquiring other companies is often a lengthy process that requires a great deal of research. A massive volume of documents with sensitive and private information must be furnished for the buyer’s review. The entire process of handing over such sensitive data via paper documents can leave a company vulnerable… not to mention the physical transfer itself being an exasperating process. A VDR removes such burdens and worries. Transfer is all online by the click of a button and, should the deal fail, the seller can simply terminate the buyers access to the data room.

2. Strategic Partnerships

Whether to venture out into another niche or just to provide a supplemental service, some companies choose to partner with other businesses instead of the more formal and permanent M&A approach. Even so, this will usually require a significant amount of data sharing. Having a VDR in place provides an efficient means of sharing and overseeing by both parties.

3. Fundraising

Fundraising is a vital part of growth for both small startups and conglomerates alike, and any business owner can attest that convincing supporters is rarely as simple as just asking. Most investors and sponsors want concrete proof that a significant cash investment is going to a viable cause. This requires document perusal. A VDR allows both sides the due diligence and oversight as they exchange sensitive information safely, securely, and efficiently during the fundraising

4. IPO

When a company chooses to go public, its subjecting itself to many additional state, local, and federal rules and regulations. There’s also a higher demand for transparency toward shareholders, investors, and the general public. It’s vital that any company planning an IPO practice meticulous documentation. A VDR allows companies the space and organizational capabilities to properly retain and manage such a mass index of documents.

5. Audits

Audits by accountants, legal representatives, and local officials can be particularly tricky for management. The company needs to be able to share the requested information in a timely fashion without the potential for it to be compromised. VDR allows for such selective and limited access.

6. Intellectual Property (IP) Management

All of the above is related to sharing info with external third parties. But, what about when information needs to be shared in-house amongst employees? Most companies, especially those entirely dependent upon safeguarding its IP for its success, will need a data security strategy to protect its IP from even in-house compromises. A VDR gives management a maximum security onsite storage option for IP.

7. Board Member Involvement

Companies with a sitting board often find themselves needing to communicate various facets of the company’s operations with board members that may not always be on hand to receive it. Sometimes a company’s board members can be remotely located across the world map. Sending paper documentation or information across an unsecured online account is a recipe for disaster. VDR allows a safe and secure portal where board members can be granted instant access to selected information.

The above are just a few examples of how VDR provides a company with a secure, instant, efficient, and limited-access means of both storing and transferring data to external and internal entities. Company owners can rest assured that their information will not be stolen or used without their knowledge when they have a VDR in place to protect their IP and company data. Department heads and managers will be able to confidently perform their interconenctive roles knowing exactly what information is going where and to whom.

How Do VDRs Apply To Specific Industries?

Businesses across the board have transitioned from physical storage to VDR because it’s simply a necessary tool as they conduct business in today’s technology-centered world. Not only does the business have secure 24/7 access to their corporate documents no matter where they are, but they also have a decreased chance of human error that could kill a business deal or even destroy their business. VDR providers offer businesses the control, security, expediency, efficiency, and flexibility that a paper document storage system can never afford… no matter the industry.

• Technology

Tech companies must incorporate rapid growth and innovation to stay competitive. It’s a constant round of fund raising, M&A, and then going public. This means a heavy load of document storage and transactions as the company raises venture capital, stores HR files, shares for M&A, complies with audits, protects IP, and so forth. A secure and efficient method of document storage and delivery is a must for success today.

• Life Sciences

From pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, there’s a tremendous amount of IP property to store and protect in the life sciences industries. These frequently partner out with other companies, must raise funds, conduct clinical trials, need to license IP, comply with HIPAA, and undergo M&A. A data room can facilitate such business transactions seamlessly.

• Investment Banking

From buying M&A, selling M&A, IP, strategic partnerships, to capital raising and legal rights, investment bankers need a streamlined approach to ensure due diligence and make timely, knowledgable decisions. VDRs make such comprehensive data needs a reality.

• Legal Firms

Security and confidentially is a huge issue for legal firms as they collect, store, utilize, and selectively share information. Time is also of the essence since many legal precedents are time-sensitive matters. VDRs again provide that streamlined approach that’s both secure, expedient, and malleable in information sharing.

• Private Equity & Venture Capital

Talk about mass information sharing and business transactions amongst numerous parties. The complex legal and financial matters must be handled as securely and timely as possible for the success of the company in equity investments, exits, outs, fundraising, and partner to investor communications. A VDR provider is absolutely invaluable when deals are made or busted within the difference of a few minutes time delay and lapses in security.

VDR Providers

Regardless of industry, each company will still have unique needs of their own. It’s imperative that these needs and their evolution are considered when picking a provider. Most providers have a free trial where the business can look how the price, features, security, and usability solutions apply to the company’s specific needs. Broadly speaking, there are two main types of VDRPs and a subcategory that’s generally part of the fray.

1. Traditional Virtual Data Room Providers

There are three main providers in this category – Merrill Datasite, Intralinks, and RR Donnelley.

It’s the oldest form of VDR. As such, it’s also generally considered the most cumbersome to use, or at least for industries not highly centered around M&A. These are best known for their M&A usage since they have tons of features that were specifically geared for the volume common to M&A application. While they’re the most expensive category of data room, they do allow for huge amounts of data uploads and storage. Extra users typically carry a fee and the uploads fees are typically at a per page rate.

2. Modern Virtual Data Room

The three most well known MVDRs are Firmex,  SecureDocs, V-Rooms, and Ansarada. These are typically easier to use, quicker to apply, and less expensive than TVDRPs. Sophisticated data security is a higher priority with MVDRs than it is with TVDRPs. These providers utilize measures such as advanced encryption, multi-level authentication, discrete access to the data room, document watermarking, blind view of documents, and disabled printing. Ease of use through modern user interface is also prioritized. Overall, these are easier to use, more cost-effective, and have more advanced security measures than TVDRPs.

3. File Sharing and Collaboration Tool Services

Dropbox, Box, and Google Docs are the main players in this subcategory of VDRP. It’s vital to understand that these are not VDRPs. These are file sharing services and collaboration tools that operate similarly on the surface to a VDR, but are nothing of the same security and feature scope.

Collaboration tools simply allow users to share personal and/or professional document files online. The collaborative feature isn’t typical with VDR. They’re cheap, even free, services and they set up easily.

However, unlike a VDR, they have grossly lacking security measures to protect, audit, and control the documents. They also lack the professional vibe of a VDR. Using lacking security can possibly send the message to existing and potential clients, investors, and partners that the company simply isn’t up to par.

Overall, it’s a solution for business owners needing inexpensive mass transit with limited security of documents. But, for those transporting and storing valuable, confidential, sensitive data, it can be an option that leaves you exposed to high risk and gives a poor impression of the company’s security standards.

Virtual Data Room Quick Tips

• Look for clear display of all features, fees, and pricing to make the most informed decision for the company’s specific needs and wants.

• During selection, carefully examine the company’s current data needs as well as potential future ones with growth and expansion.

• Request a free trial to see if the VDR is up to standard and fits the company’s needs.
