As Xiaomi always comes with something unique but this time they have braked up all the barriers as this time they are giving proper bezel less design with ceramic hard body, gold plated rings, top notch specs and affordability. is there anything which is left out, i don’t think so. They have also used very innovative future technology which i will be explaining later in this article.
Actually built of the device is very premium and luxuries, still it is very delicate and slippery due to material they have used is glossy. Definite use of case is required else you are going to break the device in single day. I would say the built of the device and feels is top notch and you won’t get even a single complaint about it that too in this affordable pricing. Everyone is going to ask which device this and how your get receiving your calls.
At the front at the top, there is nothing just a large 6.4-inch FHD panel with added ultra sonic sensors fit in it, which actually work as a earpiece as well as a proximity sensor. Below the large beautiful display we get a on screen back keys which are also very elegant and beautiful.
Now the change which we need to phase is that in MI MIX we are getting the 5-megapixel shooter at lower portion and not at the top portion which need to be comprised by the user as they are getting such great display beside it. Beside it we get a multi color LED notification light.
Coming to the down portion of the phone, it houses the USB Type-C port which do support fast charging beside it a dual speaker out of which left one having the primary MIC and right one is having an actual speaker in it. Type-C port also support OTG and it can almost play anything which you can think to use via USB port.
Turning around to the right you will get a power button which is made up of metal and give quite good haptic feedback. Beside power button, we get volume rockers and nothing much over here. Every single thing is made up of metal and ceramic, so you won’t be getting any single complaint regarding it.
Turning the phone to the left, we only get a SIM tray slot which supports dual nano SIM’s and no support of MicroSD card as we are already getting enough memory in the device which is 256 GB and 128 GB depends which version you buy.
Coming to the top side of the phone here we are not getting IR blaster this time where as this time we are getting dual noise cancellation MIC and a 3.5 mm audio jack between them.
At the back side of the phone we are again getting a game changer which is a 16-megapixel camera, beside it dual tone LED flash and below that we get a Fingerprint sensor which is really fast same like what we get in MI6 and Oneplus 5. The game changer is its 18k gold rings which makes this device more premium and luxury. The whole device body is made up of ceramic and metal. Built is top notch in this one with great hardware.

Xiaomi the has done something insane and mind blowing this time. They came up with a awesome device MI MIX with a bezel less design. They have also added really innovative technology under the hood of there bezel less display. One more thing, Xiaomi MI MIX is the world’s first device with Bezel less display with added ultra sonic sensor used for hearing the calls.
Xiaomi MI MIX come up with a huge 6.4-Inch Bezel Less Display, which gives you the resolution of 1080 x 2040 with the pixel density of 362 ppi. Overall i love the display.
There is a hidden ultra sonic sensor beside the display which work as a earpiece. Just place your ear any where on the phone while on call, the whole frame of the phone will vibrate and make you talk with other person. Really very innovative.
The screen visibility in different lighting situation is also good and even in bright sunlight you can easily use it with great auto brightness feature. Overall no complaints with the display, everything works fine and with this screen size I would say FHD is more than enough and it also won’t require more battery life with that large battery. We also get a 2.5D curved glass on top of display which makes it more smooth while using.
I only thing which i noticed is that, it seems to be little bit delicate device even after having the ceramic model it feels very slippery and in any case you drop the device it will surely going to break down in pieces.
Overall, till now the best bezel less phone with top notch specification available in the market.
Performance
As we all know whenever Xiaomi comes up with something new it is always great. So as this time, Xiaomi MI MIX delivers all what we can expect and need. Under the Ceramic and metal body construction of MI MIX is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor supporting with an Adreno 530 GPU & 128/256 GB in-built. Coming to the performance part it is one of the smoothest phones till now and it is more polished because of their MIUI 8 and soon will be update in MIUI 9, which is one of my personal favorite ROM. You can also update MIUI 9 manually if you want it right now, but it won’t be the stable version.

I have tested the MI MIX 6 GB and 256 GB version and accordingly i got different benchmark score which i have attached here.
From every aspect media, browsing and all multitasking, the MI MIX works flawlessly with no question in mind. Each and every game, whether it is a high end game or a low end game it work perfectly to me. No heating complains as of now.
Battery
Coming one of the most important feature of the phone which is its battery. Xiaomi MI MIX comes with large 4400 mAh Battery, which works whole day very easily with this large bezel less display. For me it easily last me more than 1 whole days rest it depends on your usage. For normal users it will last more than 2 days for sure. This can be possible because of new snapdragon battery efficient processor plus well optimized MIUI 8.
The device houses with a USB Type-C port and also support Quick Charge 3.0 which make the device charge extremely fast. It takes about 2 hours 15 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%. Rest, it depends on your usage and work how to get better battery out of it.
We also get different battery modes which you can switch as per your usage and comfort. Each mode has its own specifications an features according to which we can select the mode for proper battery optimization.
Camera
When we see MI MIX for camera it comes with 12-megapixel back camera which is support with Dual Tone LED flash. The best thing is that we can also record 4K videos using the phone. Overall the quality of camera is bit average not very good not very bad, it is decent. In day it take some really good shots where as in night it struggles a lot just like Redmi note 4 and other xiaomi Devices. Till now MI 6 is the only phone from xiaomi that take really really great shots.
At the front we get 5-megapixel camera which captures decent shots. But as the front facing camera is fitted up at down side below the display you need to rotate the phone to take selfie shots. This seems to be problem for some of the users but as this device main focus is on display them you can neglect this issue.

Xiaomi MI MIX out of the box is loaded with MIUI 8 which is soon going to be updated to MIUI 9, with split screen feature. After the first boot i got the update for 1.5GB which make that MIUI 8 convert to Xiaomi MIUI 8.2.2. It is loaded with some really awesome features, and the best among them I like is the Dual app mode and Dual System using which you can live you personally and office life in two parallel ways.

Design & Built
Gionee A1 Lite is available in two colors Black and Gold. When I first picked up the device in hand it feels really very light weight and way too comfortable for single hand use. I would say Gionee has really worked hard on their new device. Built quality of Gionee A1 Lite is really A1 with no complaints regarding it. Same quality that we get in Gionee A1 and Gionee A1 Plus, no compromise.
Starting with the front part of the phone at the top we get a 20-Megapixel Shooter beside it a LED flash which works as a moonlight flash. Beside that you get earpiece, different sensors and a no LED notification Light, in spite of LED Notification Front Flash works as a LED Notification if you enable it from setting panel, which is cool.
Sliding down you get a 5.3″ HD Display, with a added 2.5D Curved glass on top of it. They have also added a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of the display which make is better and more strong when we compare with other devices in same price bracket.
Below that you get back capacitive keys which don’t light up. We just have printed back keys and nothing much.
Now, coming to the down portion of the phone you get a Micro USB port besides that you get primary MIC and 3.5mm Audio jack.
Turning around to the top side here we get nothing.
Turning to the left side here we get here we get a very large sim tray slot which support dual nano sim and at the same time you can insert a MicroSD card in this that too for upto 32 GB. This device support a Dedicated MicroSD card slot which is really great in my scenario.
Rotating the phone to the right, here we get volume rockers and power-lock key which work well with no hazel. This time also Gionee has provided a patterned feel on power-lock key which is a small detailing fact about the phone built.
Coming to the back side of the the phone you get a 13-megapixel primary camera below that a single tone LED flash and besides that flash there is a hidden IR blaster which also has a great functionality which we see in LeEco device which is way better than MI device just because of added universal remote feature in it. Below that you get a fingerprint sensor which works well. below that Gionee branding and Loud speaker. According to me the placement of speaker is little bit odd.
Overall the device is made up of whole metal body construction and also has dedicated microSD card slot which is necessary these days.
Display
Gionee A1 Lite comes up with a 5.3-inch HD Display with the resolution of 720 x 1280 and pixel density of 277 ppi, which makes it look better. The colors are vibrant and dark. They are more towards the natural side and feels comfortable to eyes. White balance seems to bit high at high brightness rest you can control it manually by changing the display settings manually. The display can easily be used in very bright sunlight. There are different color profiles that you can choose as per your comfortability by going into the setting panel.
Auto-brightness work perfectly, and I have no complaints regarding the display. But still i was expecting a FHD display in this price range or at-least a amoled display.
Performance
The Gionee A1 Lite comes with MediaTek MT6753 which is paired with Mali-T720MP3 and a 3GB RAM. There we get 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 64GB using a microSD card slot which is a dedicated slot.
Even the device has Mediatek MT6753 processor it can some how handle all graphic intensive games such as GTA San Andreas, Bully, Batman, Nova 3 and much more, but at lower settings. Playing these games on higher setting will give you frame drops and sluggishness. The main objective of the phone is its built with great selfie camera.

Some issue which I faced in the UI was apps get crashed, where i need restart the app to work on it. It is not always but few times in a week. The camera app sometime gets laggy while you are recording on FHD, but if you use a third party app to record videos, it works perfectly fine, this happen might be because in there default application they are providing many modes. Hope all these issues can be fixed by Gionee in there next OTA update.
We forgot to mention about the sensors which are available in Gionee A1 Lite, so I would say we have all the sensors which a person need a phone you can even use a VR on the phone with no hassle, not even a single sensor is removed from the device.
Camera
Starting with the most highlighted feature of Gionee A1 Lite i.e. its 20-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash which allows you to take brighter and better photos even in low-light. To add more effect the camera app comes with a ‘face beauty’ mode, which allows you to smoother your skin tone, removing wrinkles, slimming down your face and much more. Allowing you to have smoother and wrinkle-free selfies. This is not enough because it supports HDR mode in selfies.
I would say Gionee A1 Lite does take some good front facing photos in daylight as well as in no light. Rest, everyone is going to love the selfie’s taking from the front facing camera of Gionee.
Now coming to the rear camera, here we get a 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash. There are different modes which we get in the app like Pro mode, night mode, time lapse, slow motion, text recognition, and text translation and many other. The camera UI is very simple and easy to use, but sometime get laggy may be due to too much modes in single application which I have already explained earlier in the article.
As per my views, rear camera of Gionee A1 is a bit average and we cannot compare the same with other budget oriented devices because this phone is more towards offline-centric and not online centric. But, still It takes pretty good photos in good light but significantly get noise in low-light conditions.

The Gionee A1 Lite comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with their custom skin Amigo UI 4.0 on top of it. They have customized a whole lot of stuff in their UI, and I would say it is buttery smooth even after filling the whole 32GB internal storage, with games, movies, and songs. In Amigo UI we don’t get any app drawer or on screen buttons just like iPhone.
Overall, the UI is quite good, but the person who love stock then this device is not for you, you will get so many customization right in your hand out of the box. There are some minor bugs, but we can expect those bugs to be fixed by Gionee in next coming OTA updates.
Battery
Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 4000 mAh battery. On moderate or even too high usage, the smartphone will easily last you 24 hour on a single charge, and even more, it depends on your usage. I was Using Jio Sim + 15 minutes approx gaming, continuous whatsapp, facebook and other social media, some selfies and at the end of the day the remaining battery was 55% which seems to be quite good for me. There we also get some energy saving modes which will further optimize your battery life. You can choose different battery modes between normal mode, power saving mode which reduces performance and finally an extreme mode which will switch off all the stuff and you will be able to use some basic features like phone, contact, messaging in it.
Verdict
Overall device is good and has its own pros and cons just like other devices. Nothing is perfect in the world.

As per my opinion, it is a good phone with such specs but I will Highly Recommend waiting for the New Xiaomi Phone with Dual Cameras launching on 5th of September 2017. The revenue from a voice call and SMS are falling, you only receive either promotion SMS or transaction OTP. And in this perilous times, you can’t expect a telecom company to upgrade all their devices and stations so that you can have a better calling experience at the same rate.
The complexity of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) has also been a major reason of why telecom company is not espousing this technology. The IMS is basically a framework, which sole purpose is to deliver multimedia, voice and data services. Moreover, it is the most advanced framework, that allows telecom company to deliver all these services seamlessly rather than having several different applications of it.
So, they had to introduce a cut down acceptable version of the IMS, which also has facilities like VoLTE and interconnectivity.
VoLTE in India?
So far, the only telecom company that offers VoLTE network is Reliance Jio. There has been conjecture about Airtel launching the technology in April but it turned out that it was fabricated.
Bharti Airtel: The company may launch VoLTE by the end of this financial year, for now, they are conducting trials at several locations in the country.
Idea Cellular Ltd.: The company may introduce VoLTE service by early 2018.
Vodafone: The telecom giant has not given any news or rumors about the VoLTE service for their customers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has launched and we have to say that we love the new bezel-less display. The device packs some of the best specs in the market and delivers an exemplary performance.
