Motorola Moto G5 and G5 Plus launched at MWC 2017 – What’s New?

So, finally the wait is over, Lenovo the well-known brand owned by Motorola is out with their next-generation smartphone under Moto G-series, Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This time, finally Lenovo has this line up a bit change in its design. Now Mogo G5 and G5 plus seems to be more like Moto Z and Z Play. This time both the smartphones sport an all-metal body with a Lenovo branding on panels.

This time on both the phone’s houses fingerprint sensor at the front with a home button which also housing a fingerprint scanner.

The Moto G5 comes with a 5.0″ FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is being powered by Snapdragon 430 processor which is clocked at 1.4GHz. Coming to the camera department, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The smartphone houses a 2800mAh removable battery and also supports rapid charging technology.

Now coming to Moto G5 Plus, it comes with a 5.2″ FHD display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen size is slightly larger from Moto G5, but the resolution of both are same. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor which is clocked at 2GHz.

At the back, it comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a added dual LED flash. I don’t know why the higher model has lower megapixel count when we compare it with Moto G5. But still as per the company the camera sensor is much better. The front camera is same with the 5-megapixel lens. The phone houses a 3,000mAh battery that also supports rapid charging technology, but this time it is a non-removable battery.

Moto G5 comes with a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, whereas the Moto G5 Plus has two options available — 2GB/32GB variant along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage model. There we also get a microSD card slot, allowing you to expand storage up to 128GB. On the software side, both the phones are running on latest Android 7.0 Nougat with company’s skin on top of it.

Both the phones will be available in Gold and Gray colors. The Moto G5 will be available for €199 with 2GB RAM/16GB storage across Europe and Latin America from early March, while Moto G5 Plus will be available for $229 for the 2GB/32GB model in U.S, and $279 for the 4GB/64GB version.

We have been testing these earphones from about 2 weeks now and I would say as a bass lover in this price they have nailed my previous Skullcandy earphones.

The best part is that we can now control the audio volume buttons mounted on it. Black color for Blitzwolf earphones will suit everyone with added brushed metal finish at the back.

So, as I have already mentioned above “Bass in Budget.” Yes, it is true, we are getting insane bass in this budget earphones. I am a bass lover in any music and take my words i have tried these earphones in my iPhone, Asus Zenfone 3, Samsung c9 Pro and quality of bass and proper treble is great. Overall, the bass lover will love it. We are getting proper treble great bass and proper Mid’s and Highs. Everything was perfectly fine, and I have no complaints with them.

Overall, the audio experience that is being delivered by these earphone was pretty good. You can try any kind of music on these earphones, and they won’t give you any complaints.

The Pixel Density Honor 6X is 403 ppi whereas on Redmi Note 4 it has 401 ppi which seems to be almost same. But after using both the phones for few days i would say on regular usage you wont find any issue in screen quality on both the phones but when we compare both the displays Honor 6X, has slightly better colors and sunlight legibility when we compare it with Redmi Note 4.

Performance & Speed Test

The Performance of any smartphone depends on a processor, so over here Honor 6X comes up with Kirin 655 processor features with a 3/4GB Ram, whereas Redmi Note 4 comes up with Snapdragon 625 processor with the support of 2/3/4GB RAM, both the processor are almost on the same line up, but here Ram and UI plays up a very vital role in their performance and speed.

As Redmi Note 4 has bigger battery and one of the best UI in the market the clear winner for battery is Redmi Note 4.

Honor 6X will give you intense stand by time, like if i use Redmi note 4 continuously it will easily give me a battery life of almost 2 days, whereas if you use Honor 6X in same condition it is going to give me the battery life of 1.5 Days.

Software

Now coming to the software aspect of both the phones. Both the phones comes with Android 6.0 out of the box with the skin of eMUI on Honor 6X whereas MIUI 8 on Redmi Note 4. Both the Roms are one of the best in the market with no lag and any bugs as of now. Both the roms are stable and i do not have any complaints for any of the ROM. Some of the features of MIUI 8 is way better than honor 6X and vice versa.

As per the company, they are going to release the Android 7 update soon on both the devices. SO, again this is the positive point for the buyers.

Verdict

So, my final verdict after testing both the phones is, if you are Xiaomi lover and like its UI and Built then go for Redmi note 4 rest, if you want, better camera, better Display, and a overall best device in that price than Honor 6X is meant for you. Rest both the devices are good, if redmi has made better availability of redmi note 4, with better camera then i would have suggest redmi note 4.
