Google.org has today announced to grant a sum of 8.4 million US dollar to four Indian NGOs, which include Learning Equality, Million Sparks Foundation, Pratham Books StoryWeaver, and Pratham Education Foundation. Google is planning to enhance the learning experience by upscaling the work of these NGOs in the coming two years.
The full plan of Google is to support the nonprofit tech-based organization that is building innovative learning solution. The program will certainly help in refurbishing the India education system, which we know is in crisis. The analysis reports of various NGOs and Government bodies have suggested that 50% children in 5th grade cannot even solve a two-digit subtraction problem.
The Program will focus on 3 areas where technology can be used to improve the education quality. First is to make available quality learning material that can overcome language gaps. Second is to provide better training and support to teachers in India as they are key to educational outcomes. Finally, it is to support students outside classroom learning.
Pratham Books has created StoryWeaver, an online platform whose open source technology connects readers, authors, illustrators, and translators to create free stories that can be translated. All Storyweaver content is free and can be easily accessed, downloaded, or printed. Google is backing up the organization with a 3.6 million $ budget and with the support of google.org, Pratham books aim to increase their active users and books to more than 50%.
The project has been given a budget of 3.1 million $ from google.org. The hybrid learning program of Pratham empowers students to use self-driven e-learning curriculum to learn outside of the classroom.
The Million Sparks Foundation with ChalkLit, a digital content platform, and social community. The project features high calibre teaching with lesson plans, learning modules, videos, etc. All the study materials are accessible by teachers via a lightweight mobile app.

Gionee A1 is available in three colors Grey, Black and Gold. When I first picked up the device in hand it feels sturdy and well built. I would say Gionee has really worked hard on their new device. Each and every small detail is being taken care which we can notice on the power lock key which I will explain later. Built quality of Gionee A1 is really A1 no complaints regarding it.
Starting with the front part of the phone at the top we get a 16-Megapixel Shooter beside it a LED flash, or I would say LED Light which different effect as per your choice. Beside that you get earpiece, different sensors and a no LED notification Light, in spite of LED Notification Front Flash works as a LED Notification if you enable it from setting panel.
Sliding down you get a 5.5″ FHD AMOLED Display, with a added 2.5d Curved glass on top of it.
Below that you get back capacitive keys which don’t light up. We just have two small white color dots over there. Between that houses a Home button which we can actually press. That home button also acts as a Fingerprint sensor which is insanely accurate and fast just like we see in Oneplus 3T. I rather love its fingerprint sensor just a small tap on fingerprint, and it will unlock the device.
Now, coming to the down portion of the phone you get a Micro USB port which do support fast charging, besides that you get Dual Speaker grills out of which right one is having the actual speaker and left one is having the primary MIC in it.
Turning around to the top side you just get a 3.5mm Audio jack and nothing else.
Coming to the left portion of the phone you get a Hybrid SIM tray which supports Dual sim or single sim + MicroSD card that to up to 256GB.
Turning the phone to the right side, you get volume rockers and power lock keys which work perfectly fine and made up of metal. We also have Chamfered cut design available on volume rockers and power lock key. This is not enough to get more detailing in the phone Gionee has added color different among all the buttons. We get silver Chamfered edge on volume rockers where as we get Red color Chamfered edge on Power Lock key. This is what I was talking about earlier in the article.
Coming to the back side of the the phone you get a 13-megapixel primary camera below that a single tone LED flash and besides that flash there is a hidden IR blaster which also has a great functionality which we see in LeEco device which is way better than MI device just because of added universal remote feature in it. Below that you get a nicely done Gionee Logo which is made inside a circular ring and looks good and coming down you get a Gionee branding and nothing much which need to explain over here.
Display
Gionee A1 comes up with a 5.5-inch FHD Amoled Display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 and pixel density of 401 ppi, which makes it look better. The colors are vibrant and dark. They are more towards the natural side and feels comfortable to eyes. White balance feels perfect and makes it a pleasant display to use even in bright sunlight. There are different color profiles that you can choose as per your comfortability by going into the setting panel.
Auto-brightness work perfectly, and I have no complaints regarding the display. Watching movies is awesome because we are getting Amoled Display and not any ordinary display. Viewing Angle is good and odd angle won’t affect you in any way. Overall I love the display.
Performance
The Gionee A1 comes with MediaTek MT6755 which is Helio P10 octa-core SoC paired with Mali-T860MP2 and a 4GB RAM. There we get 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 256GB using a microSD card slot.
Even the device has Helio p10 in it, it can some how to handle all graphic intensive games such as GTA San Andreas, Bully, Batman, Nova 3 and much more, but few games like asphalt 8 and 2 brother give some frame drops quite a few times don’t know why, even asphalt 8 extreme is working fine may be some bug is there. The best part is that even after playing the games for more than 30 minutes it won’t heat up the max temperature I got was 39- Degree that is quite normal that too in Delhi Hot Temperature. The phone functions smoothly even after there is more than 10 open in the background.

Some issue which I faced in the UI was apps get crashed, where i need restart the app to work on it. It is not always but few times in a day. The camera app sometime gets laggy while you are recording on FHD, but if you use a third party app to record videos, it works perfectly fine. Hope all these issues can be fixed by gionee in there next OTA update.

We forgot to mention about the sensors which are available in Gionee A1 so I would say we have all the sensors which a person need a phone you can even use a VR on the phone with no hassle.
Camera
Starting with the most highlighted feature of Gionee A1 i.e. its 16-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash which allows you to take brighter and better photos even in low-light. To add more effect the camera app comes with a ‘face beauty’ mode, which allows you to smoother your skin tone, removing wrinkles, slimming down your face and much more. Allowing you to have smoother and wrinkle-free selfies. This is not enough because it supports HDR mode in selfies.
I would say Gionee A1 does take some good front facing photos in daylight as well as in no light. Rest, everyone is going to love the selfie’s taking from the front facing camera of Gionee.
Now coming to the rear camera, here we get a 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash. There are different modes which we get in the app like Pro mode, night mode, time lapse, slow motion, text recognition, and text translation and many other. The camera UI is very simple and easy to use, but sometime get laggy may be due to UI which I have already explained earlier in the article.
As per my views, rear camera of Gionee A1 is a bit average and we cannot compare the same with other budget oriented devices because this phone is more towards offline-centric and not online centric. But, still It takes pretty good photos in good light but significantly get noise in low-light conditions.

The Gionee A1 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with their custom skin Amigo UI on top of it. They have customized a whole lot of stuff in their UI, and I would say it is buttery smooth even after filling the whole 64GB internal storage, with games, movies, and songs. In Amigo UI we don’t get any app drawer or on screen buttons just like iPhone.
Overall, the UI is quite good, but the person who love stock then this device is not for you, you will get so many customizations right in your hand out of the box. There are some minor bugs, but we can expect those bugs to be fixed by gionee in next coming OTA updates.
Battery
Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 4010 mAh battery. On moderate or even too high usage, the smartphone will easily last you a full day on a single charge, and even more, it depends on your usage. I was Using Jio Sim + 15 minutes approx gaming, continuous whatsapp, facebook and other social media, some selfies and at the end of the day the remaining battery was 45% which seems to be quite good for me. There we also get some energy saving modes which will further optimize your battery life. You can choose different battery modes between normal mode, power saving mode which reduces performance and finally an extreme mode which will switch off all the stuff and you will be able to use some basic features like phone, contact, messaging in it.
It also comes with a fast charger and fast charging support and took about 1 hour 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% using a stock charger which we get inside the box.
Verdict
Apart from the Price which is Rs. 19,999; I would say gionee has made something different in there now. As gionee is always offline focused brand and will be there future as well. So, when we compare Gionee A1 with other available offline brands, this is going to be a huge competition.

Sliding down you get Back capacitive keys which do light up and between them houses a home button which also acts as a fingerprint sensor which proper metallic border all across the button. The Fingerprint on C9 Pro works quite well and I have no complaints about it, but it not as fast as we seen in Gionee A1 and Oneplus 3T.
Coming to the down portion of the phone you get a 3.5mm Audio Jack beside that a USB C port which obviously supports fast charging and beside that you get a Primary MIC and a Primary Speaker. All the ports are precisely fit into the metal chassis and looks and feels quite premium.
Coming to the top portion of the phone you get a secondary noise cancellation MIC and nothing much over there.
Turing the phone to the left side, you get Volume rockers which work quite well and give tactile feel while you press them.
Turning the phone to the right side you side you get a Power Lock key and beside that Dual Trays out of which top one is having a Support of MICROSD card that to up to 256GB and below that you can insert Dual Sim’s which means in C9 Pro you get Dedicated Tray for Dual sims as well as for Microsd card Expansion which is in fact great.
Turning to the phone to the back side you get, triple layout antenna design, Below that a 16-megapixel primary camera with a Dual Tone LED flash. Below that you get a Samsung branding and proper metal built and nothing much which we need to explain.
Display
Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro comes with 6″ FHD Display and not a QHD display which we aspect with the device with a price of Rs. 36,900. The display comes with the pixel density of 367 ppi which is sharp, and colors are vibrant. Even the sunlight legibility is good on auto mode. The display feels quite smooth when used, touch response is perfect.
I Would say while playing games and watching movies, you gonna love the display. As Samsung always offers Super AMOLED Display and watching movies on that display make it love towards the phone. Viewing Angle is good and odd angle won’t affect you in any way.
Performance
As Samsung Cover the whole offline market as well as online market. They need to invest a lot in marketing which makes them increase the prices of their device. Samsung C9 Pro comes with Snapdragon 653 which is a pro, or we can say a better version of 652, as it is more likely to give the performance much like the 820 and 821. Also of 653 Samsung has added 6GB RAM with support if The Adreno 510 GPU is also clocked slightly higher here.

I have tried playing each and every game which a person can think to play with this large screen display. I have played implosion, GTA San Andreas, Bully, Nova 3, Batman that too at high quality and take my words I have not seen a single frame drop in the performance. The device do that heat up. I have played the game for more than 40 minutes, and the max temperature in a normal Delhi room temperature was about 47 Degree which was quite hot. I would recommend you to add a Silicon Case or some kind of case if you are a high intense gamer. Rest everything is fine.
The UI is smooth, multitasking is great with that massive 6GB ram, No slugginess or lag can be noticed in any way. Even after too much gaming, you can start doing multi-tasking. So, overall no complaints on Performance issues with Snapdragon 653 processor.
Camera
On Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro we get 16-megapixel camera which is supported with a dual tone LED flash. When we click images in the dark it comes out quite noisy, but taking images in day light came out quite well. Colors came out good, detailing is fine. The camera application is quite fast and focusing works perfectly.

The drawback which I got to know in C9 Pro camera is that it won’t support recording videos in 4K and that is not enough we cannot even record time lapse videos and no Slow motion video. We need to install other third party app if we want to make timelapse or want to record slow motion videos. After that also FHD video recording on C9 Pro is decent and I have made quite a few videos using C9 Pro Camera, which are already live on my channel.
On the front side, it will give also give a 16 Megapixel camera which also captures decent images, and with 16-megapixel camera, it will give you some good shots. But as we know it is not a camera-centric phone but more towards display and battery centric device.
So, Overall Galaxy C9 Pro camera can take some good photos under sunlight whereas lower light conditions, as in indoor lights are decent but not as great as we get in other budget-oriented phones.

Software
Coming to the software part, the phone runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own skin on top. Soon, they are going to launch OTA update for Android 7.0 on C9 Pro.
Smartphones new UI is very neat and plain, nothing very cheesy is here. You can launch dialer from the lock screen. They have changed the design of drop-down notification bar. We get different toggles over here which can also be edited manually if you want to do so.
One of the most used features is a one-handed mode which reduces the screen size by pressing the home key three times. We also get a one-handed input in the keyboard, multi windows option and many other.
Just fiddle around the UI and every time you are going to find something new in it just like MIUI. Samsung has worked a lot on their UI after their previous old Galaxy Devices.
Battery
Samsung Galaxy C9 is powered by 4000mAh battery, and I would say C9 Pro is one of the best performing smartphones when we consider it for battery life. The Phone will last you about 2 days on your normal use which includes full-time Volte enabled on JIO, 20 minutes gaming, watching a movie on JIO Cinema, Normal calling, WhatsApp and using maps for few minutes. So, overall battery performs quite well, and you can even switch to ultra power saving mode which will drastically increase battery life on long usage.
It also supports fast charging, and charge the phone from 0-100% in about 1 hour which seems to be quite fast.
Verdict
So, the final verdict as per my views will be the device is good for its build, display, and battery. If you want a large screen device to enjoy gaming, reading, movies with great performance and great battery with brand value and Dedicated Dual Sim support with expansion, then this one is for you.
The battery life performance is good, there are no noticeable flaws in performance.

Samsung is always there in the market with their new innovative, unique products. Last year they were out with Gear s2 which was a great hit in the market and now finally a few weeks back they are out with their new upgraded model of a smartwatch Samsung Gear S3. Samsung products always get evolved years after years and so at this time. The Samsung smartwatch is available in two different variants – Classic and Frontier and the best part is that both will be priced at Rs 28,500. In some foreign markets, the Frontier variant will also support LTE connectivity with voice calling feature. Coming to the Indian Variant, there is no e-SIM support from any telecom operators. So, after using this so called awesome smartwatch for a couple of weeks now here is our review:
After Gear S2 there was a major change we can see in Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Gear s3 frontier. They have come up with new design statement with full circle display and a rotating bezel which also control the circular UI in the smartwatch. This time Gear s3 base is similar which we get in gear s2 classic, but it feels more like a classic retro watch than a normal looking Smartwatch. They have increased the weight as well as thickness of the watch to make the watch more look like a classic watch. If you like wearing large size watches then surely this is going to be your favorite one.
Here we get the classic version and not the frontier version, so the Classic version is having a premium brushed steel finish which adds up more style statement to the smartwatch. In the Classic version, we get a leather strap with an additional small strap in the box whereas in Frontier we get a more like armour-style design with a silicon strap which will suit to more sporty kind of a person.
Top Bezels covered under stainless steel which also include steel made rotating bezels.
Coming to the bottom part of the watch there we get a heart rate sensor which works quite accurately. On the right side, you get two circular buttons where the top one is back button whereas the bottom one is the menu button as well as also works as a power button. Between them houses a small opening for a MIC.
Coming to the left side of the watch you get three small openings for the speaker, which can actually play songs which are stored on your smartwatch.
Overall, Samsung has worked really very hard in making this smartwatch possible and personally I love it. If I ant to give some score to the design of the watch, i will give full marks to luxury, quality, and premiumness which we get in this watch.
Display
Gear S3 comes with a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED with full circle touchscreen display. The Screen is giving the resolution of 360 x 360 pixels with 278 ppi. On top of the screen, Samsung has also added Corning Gorilla SR+ Glass protection for extra protection in daily use. The display is quite bright, and colors look vibrant. We can easily read text with no hassle even in bright sunlight. This time we also get ‘Always-On’ display mode on gear s3 which everyone most of the time wanted. It surely affects the battery life, but in some scenario, you can turn it off also if you want.
Software
So, coming to the main part of the smartwatch i.e. its software and UI. Gear S3 runs their own UI called Tizen OS. The UI for the watch is well-designed and smooth. As we get some great hardware with 1GHz dual-core processor and 768MB of RAM which ensures its smooth functioning on daily usage. The Best thing is that it is compatible with any Android device as well as now with any iOS device too. Most of the time I have tested gear s3 on iOS app only which works quite well.
It doesn’t matter weather it a iOS app or Android one, the app for gear s3 has everything you need in it. It gives you the access to their Tizen app store from where you can download different watch faces, apps and even few games.
We also get 4GB of internal storage, and out of which approx 2.2GB is reserved by the system and only 1.8GB is available for photos, apps, and music (if you want to side load them). Everything on Gear S3 works Via Bluetooth because if we want to add music to watch, or transfer photos or want to share data, we need the watch to be connected via Bluetooth to your device.
The best thing I like in gear s3 is its smooth rotating bezel, even if we are going to rotate the bezel in anti-clockwise, it will show you unread notifications from different apps whereas rotating it clockwise will help you switching different apps on the home screen.
Battery Life
Now, the most awaited question which is going to arise is how much battery life that great smartwatch is going to give in daily usage? It is because we have a major concern with the battery as these days already available smartwatches can hardly last over a day.
Whereas this is Samsung has almost had a way to tackle the battery issue. They got a 380mAh battery on their new Gear S3, along with great software optimization done to get some good battery life with the same usage. In my case, I was using it normally with “ALWAYS ON DISPLAY OFF” it last me more than 3 days on a single charge and if I switch on “ALWAYS ON DISPLAY” it will last you about one-and-a-half-days which seem to be managed.
We also get a power saving mode which turns the screen to grayscale and turns off all the functions except message notifications. When I was in this mode, it gave me the battery life of more than 8 days, which is insane.
One thing I forget to mention above is that Gear S3 also support Samsung Pay feature which means no need of cards, no need to phone just place your smartwatch near any POS machine and you can pay any amount using it just by putting your authentication pin in the watch.

Panasonic is here with their two new Eluga phones: Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X. The company is going to feature Arbo a kind of virtual assistant which works on the platform of Artificial Intelligence. Arbo tracks and learns users usage and what he wants at what time and a whole lot of features are being added to it. As of now, Arbo is in Beta stage and with every new update, they are going to make it better and better.
To debut arbo, as of now it will be available in Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X. May be future they are going to open its platform for other devices. Also, we never know. So starting with, Panasonic Eluga Ray Max. The phone will be available in two variants – 32GB storage at Rs. 11,499 and 64GB storage at Rs. 12,499. As of now it will be available on Flipkart exclusively, but soon anyone can buy it from offline stores. The Device will be available in Gold, Metallic Silver, and Rose Gold colours. One thing which I forgot to mention is that both Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X will be getting Arbo in one or two weeks after it releases.
As per the company, Arbo virtual uses some kind of machine tracking to provide great suggestions. It also prompts you for Bluetooth pairing if user has previously paired their smartphones with a nearby available device. Arbo as of now is in early days and several new features can be expected in ‘Phase 2’.
So, the most awaited camera from CES 2017 is here from Panasonic. From past couple of days, there are so many searched which are going on google for Lumix GH5 launch and when it is going to get available in India. So, finally, it is being launched in India and will be available soon both online as well as in offline market. They are primarily targeting on professional photographers and videographers. The main USP which is going to be in “LUMIX GH5” will be that it can capture 6K photos.
This newly-added 6K photo feature will make it possible to capture moments some precious and priceless moments at 30 fps and then by extracting the frame with the some best timing out of 6K burst file with the aspect ratio of 4:3 or 3:2. The file will be saved as an approximately equivalent to 18MP high-resolution photo.

The current brawl in the social media world has been between the two leading telecom operators of India – Airtel and Jio. With Ookla certifying Airtel as the fastest network in the country, Reliance Jio claims the certification to be inaccurate. Jio’s argument states that speed test on dual sim phones can possibly tag Jio’s data to Airtel, hence, the test result are incorrect.
Ookla has responded by rubbishing all these claims and saying that they have multiple ways of ascertaining the ACTIVE CARRIER in a speed test beyond what is on display. These are fool proof things like IP which absolutely cannot go wrong.
For a second let’s try and understand what the whole fiasco is all about!
JIO’S WORD – Dual sim phone’s results are attributed to SIM ‘slot 1’ irrespective if the data is in SIM ‘slot 2’. Honestly, sim slots do not make any difference in the speedtest as the criteria depend upon the “calling” sim.That mean if in a dual sim phone, sim slot 1 has data sim and sim slot 2 has voice calling sim then the speedtest would attribute to sim slot 2.
Now in any “Android” dual sim phones, there are two scenarios:
1. Jio is the 4G data sim and Airtel is voice only – Here jio is claiming that Jio is getting wrongly attributed towards Airtel
2. Airtel is the 4G data sim and Jio is voice only – Since Jio does not have a 2G/3G network, the Jio sim would automatically de-register itself from being the calling SIM. Hence, Airtel samples are attributed to Airtel itself.
Conclusion:
Since Jio cannot get registered as a Calling SIM, therefore, it is clear that the corruption of sample can only happen from JIO to AIRTEL and not vice versa. Considering Ookla has give Airtel an average of 8.76 and 7.47 to Jio. It can be said that Jio’s slow speed is in fact pulling down Airtel’s. Further, if we separate Jio’s count from Airtel’s, the numbers are only going to go up. Simple Maths!
It won’t be wrong if we get to know Airtel is even faster than what Ookla claims.
