Government policy needs to be aligned with the application development market in India so as to enable them to take a leadership position and maximize the revenue of this vertical. Currently, India is the world’s second largest user of applications and 2017-18, the country is expected to have the largest developer base. While speaking at ‘Digital Services Asia 2016’, Mr A. Robert Jerad Ravi, Advisor (Quality of Service), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said, “Majority of apps which are based out of other countries are developed by Indians, either working out of India or stationed abroad. This process in itself is a business opportunity, which should be encouraged by the Government.”

According to various reports, the revenue from paid apps in 2016 is estimated to touch Rs 1,500 crores against Rs 900 crores in 2014. While the apps downloads are expected to touch a figure of around 10 billion this year, five times more than what it was in 2012.  “This market is growing multifold with each passing quarter. The apps developer community itself is now 3 lakh and is set to expand drastically with the government initiative of getting apps in local languages,” added Mr. Ravi.

The opportunity for apps development market is evident even while smartphone penetration is just 20 per cent of all mobile phone users. With the adoption of 3G and 4G technology, the smartphone market is expected to further accelerate mobile application development in the country. During the inaugural session, it was stated that 80 per cent of applications being downloaded in India are global applications and with 4G, ‘mobile application development’ will turn over a new leaf and will usher in a phase of unprecedented development in this segment.

While speaking at the inaugural session, Mr. Debabrata Nayak, Additional Director, Digital Locker & Project Director (Open Source Collaboration), National e-Governance Division, DeitY said, “Digital Locker and the National e-Governance Division of the Department of Electronics and IT would facilitate the transformation of India to a digital environment and benefit the citizens of India. Currently, applicants have to carry as many as six input documents on identity, with this only one output document would be enough. The Digital Locker would move the country and services towards paperless governance and provide legal validity to these documents.”

“With the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi driving a digital India initiative, the use of digital services in every department, like from municipal department to having access to the Prime Minister himself will be available to every citizen. People and government are now being transformed into partners through ‘Jan Bhagirdar’ and portals like ‘MyGov.in’ and providing ‘one stop play’ for common people to speak directly to government at all levels and thus changing government-people interaction culture,” said Mr. Amit Malviya, National Head, IT and Digital Communication, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He further added that introduction of a panic button in the mobile phones ‘Himmat’ was for ensuring safety of women and apps for farmers enabling them to obtain services and interact with the market for their produce are few examples, which are part of the Digital India Initiative.

Talking about the digital society, Mr. Shyam P. Mardikar, Chief-Strategy, Architecture & Engineering, Bharti Airtel said, “Virtual Reality has already enabled people anywhere to experience anything faraway.  He illustrated how an NRI buyer of a flat can experience a ‘digital walk’ through the flat faraway in India that he intends to buy.”  He listed 25 virtual reality user cases covering many services from the cinema to shopping. “With the country’s largest youth population and policy changes for resource readiness, the digital society is all set to transform the country,” he further added

In sci-fi movies, lasers are often used as weapons that can cut through steel, but in today’s world, lasers are primarily used for much more constructive, household purposes. Keep reading to learn about the fascinating world of laser printing, and how lasers and electrical charges work to produce the simple printed page.

How a Laser Printer Works

In short, a laser printer takes information from your computer and processes it in the electronic circuit. That circuit activates a high-voltage wire, called a corona wire, and gives off a static electrical charge to the photoreceptor drum. A laser draws the image that is ultimately to be printed onto the photoreceptor drum.

Where the laser touches the drum, the electrical charge is reversed. The ink roller then brings the toner, or the powdered ink, close to the drum, where the toner is statically attracted to the places where the laser erased the positive charge. At this point, the printing paper approaches the drum and is also charged by the corona wire.

When it passes by the drum, the toner is magnetically pulled onto the paper. Finally, the paper with the toner upon it passes through a set of hot rollers, effectively fusing the toner particles permanently onto the paper.

Similarities Between Photocopiers and Laser Printers

Modern laser printers use almost identical technology as photocopiers. The ultra-bright light of photocopiers makes a precise copy of a given page, which is reflected onto a photoreceptor drum. Again, static electricity is used to attract toner to the page and is finally fused by hot rollers.

Laser printers are almost identical in practice except for one major difference: instead of copying from an original, lasers must sketch out the image based on the electronic data received. Simply put, a photocopier uses reflective techniques while a laser printer uses transcription.

The Role of Fusers in Laser Printing

Hot rollers, or fusers, are an essential part of laser printing. They ensure that the toner melts into the page. Unfortunately, fusers sometimes fail. usually for one of two reasons: a foreign object passes through the printer and destroys it, or its service life naturally comes to an end. In smaller printers, the fuser lifespan is about 50,000 pages, while in larger printers, the lifespan of the fuser can last for more than 250,000 pages. Although fusers are adept to burning out over a long period of time, this does not mean that the laser print is completely defunct—many retailers sell replacement fusers that can be substituted into the existing printer.

The Role of Toner in Laser Printing

With inkjet printers, you only need to refill the liquid cartridge, but laser printers have more delicate parts that must be replaced regularly. With all the electrical charges and precise laser etching, things can get messy and imprecise without a high-quality toner cartridge, such as the HP Laserjet p1102 Printer Ink. Typically, when you replace the toner cartridge, you’re getting a new toner hopper, developer, and drum assembly in a combined unit.

The last thing you want to do is sacrifice printing quality with a poorly made replacement toner cartridge. Do your research to find top-of-the-line printing supplies to ensure the long-term health of your printer and the continuous quality of your printing.

Bosehas introduced there new wireless line up, QuietComfort 35 around-ear headphones and the QuietControl 30 in-ear headphones, both shattering the limitations of existing wireless noise cancelling headphones with an entirely new experience for traveling, commuting, creating, studying, or relaxing.  The QC35 lets you tune out completely with silence of Bose’s wired QuietComfort headphones. The QC30 adds something new as well over here, they have added noise control in your hands, letting you adjust how much surrounding sound you block out or let in. The QC35 is available for Rs. 29,363 the QC30 will be available in September 2016 for Rs. 26,438.  

Bose also added up all-new SoundSport and SoundSport Pulse headphones, for wireless workouts.
