The new feature which they have added in these phones is ARBO which is an artificial intelligence system. It will initially analyze your work and after few days it will suggest you at what time what thing you are doing all such stuff in detailed way.

Design & Built
Panasonic Eluga Ray is available in three colors Grey, Rose Gold and Gold and I personally like the gray one but unfortunately, right now I am reviewing the gold one. Starting with the front part here we get a 5-megapixel shooter beside it a front flash which is good an earpiece, LED Notification and different sensors.
Coming below we get 5” HD Display, which is covered with 2.5D curved glass and no info on adding any protection on it.
Sliding little bit down here we get Back Navigation keys which are customizable by going into the setting panel and below that houses a Home Button, which also act as a fingerprint sensor as well as the button can also be pressed not like we get on Moto and Oppo Devices.
Coming to the bottom portion of the phone here we get a Micro USB port, beside it a primary MIC and nothing else. The good thing is that the phone support fast charging and comes with a fast charging brink within the box package.
Turning to the top we get a 3.5mm audio jack and nothing much which need to be mentioned over here.
Turning to left side we get Volume rockers and power lock keys which are made up of plastic but looks like metal. The buttons feel quite good while you press them on regular basis and I have complains regarding them. Overall built of the phone is good in this price. We get proper rounded finish on the phone on all its corners.
Finally coming to the back panel of the phone which is also removable and still made up of metal. Nice work done by panasonic. Here we get 13-megapixel camera below that a Single LED flash, Panasonic branding and back speaker. The placement of the speaker I really don’t like because whenever we place the phone on cushion or bed we cannot even hear the phone ringing. Speakers vents should always be open.
We can also open up the back panel of the phone which is removable still we cannot remove the battery which is sealed inside. We can only place two Sim that too has dual dedicated Sim support which is good as well as it also has a dedicated Micro SD card slot which support upto 128GB. It is a USP for this device because these days most of the other phones comes with hybrid sim tray slot only.
Display
Here we get a 5” HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it and no extra protection of gorilla glass is present. The 2.5D curved Display which makes the device look way better. We get the resolution of 720 x 1280. The colors are vibrant and dark. Even after having HD display it seems to quite good. We get high brightness and still it won’t fade away all the colors of the phone. Playing games and watching movies looks quite good. I have played many games and when I compare playing GTA san andreas in other phones it seems be to playing in little bit dark but in this phone which can see each and every detail of the game very easily.
Sunlight legibility is also quite good at auto brightness. I have no complaints regarding the display. Rest we cannot expect much with that price device.
Performance
The Panasonic Eluga Ray comes with MediaTek MTK6737 processor which is paired with Mali-T720 and 3GB RAM. There we get 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.
Even the device has low end processor in it, it can some how to handle all graphic intensive games quite easily. I tried playing different games such as GTA San Andreas, Bully, Batman, Nova 3 and GTA, Bully, were working well with no lag but playing Nova 3 and Batman give me little bit frame drops. The device is for normal gaming and I won’t suggest gamers to get this one.

Rest, Antutu Score is decent not too high not really very low. In Panasonic Eluga Ray we get all the sensors which is required but they have removed Gyroscope sensors which means you cannot use VR in this phone.
One issue which I faced in the UI is the camera app sometime gets laggy while you are recording video and even it get laggy while taking photos, but if you use a third party app to record videos, it works perfectly fine. Even recording videos via third party app give you better clarity with no flickering (Strange but true.)

Starting Panasonic Eluga Ray Camera, here we get 13-megapixel back camera with Single LED flash which allows you to take decent images and sometimes too color popping images. Here we get almost all kind of effects and filters.

Some the effects and filter are those which we cannot even see in high end device this is cool. I am pretty satisfied with the back camera clarity even after that laggy interface. I will suggest panasonic team to work on their camera interface to make it work smooth.
Coming to the front camera, here we get a 5-megapixel shooter with added ‘face beauty’ mode, which allows you to smoother your skin tone, removing wrinkles, slimming down your face and much more. The camera UI is very simple and easy to use, but too laggy too.

Software
The Panasonic Eluga Ray comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with almost stock UI on the phone no bloatware and no custom skin is loaded on their phone which is unique and good. I would say even with that processor the UI is buttery smooth even after filling the whole internal storage, with games, movies, and songs say thanks to stock Android they are using. Still the camera app is laggy installing a third party app make it work better.
Overall, the UI is quite good, and the person who love stock then this device is for you. There are some minor bugs, but we can expect those bugs to be fixed by gionee in next coming OTA updates. The unit which I got was not having ARBO installed as it was in beta and brand was saying you will soon get the update. So, i won’t be commenting anything about ARBO (Artificial Intelligence) of the phone.

Battery
Coming to the battery part of the phone here we are getting 4000 mAh battery. On moderate usage, the smartphone will easily last you more than a full day on a single charge. The battery works quite well for this device. You can watch 3 to 4 movies continuously on the phone. Rest no complains with the battery. There we also get some energy saving modes which will further optimize your battery life.
We do not get any kind of fast charging support and took approx 2 hour to charge from 0% to 100% using a stock charger which we get inside the box.
Verdict
So, according to me if you are an old Panasonic phone and want a phone for decent normal usage with great battery life and decent camera quality.
