Xiaomi India launches Desh Ka Dumdaar Smartphone: Redmi 8A Dual

Xiaomi has launched the successor for its bestselling Redmi A series. Along with that, they have also launched their Power Bank. Talking about the smartphone first, it’s named – Redmi 8A Dual.

This is the first time when dual cameras will be displayed on a Redmi A series. The camera setup will feature a 13 MP primary sensor along with a 2 MP depth sensor (for portraits). They will be supported by the hardware which will run the Xiaomi’s AI scene detection and the AI portrait mode. The front camera is of 8 MP and includes a face unlock. The size of the screen is 6.2 inches with HD + IPS Display. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and comes with 2 variants of storage – 2 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM. External storage can be added via microSD up to 512 GB. The phone runs on a 5000 mAH battery with 18W fast charging and supports reverse charging through Type C port.

Not just the internal specs, but the external features of this phone are a solid hit as well. We are talking Gorilla Glass 5 and P2i’s nano-coating ensuring protection against falls. The Aura XGrip Design provides you with a premium touch. It will be available from 18th Feb at 12 noon. The 2 GB variant is priced at Rs. 6,499 and the 3 GB variant is priced at Rs. 6,999.

Moving onto the power banks, Xiaomi is bringing out two of them – 10000 mAh (priced at Rs. 799) & 20000 mAh (priced at Rs. 1499). Having an anti-slip edge grip, they both feature two input and two output ports. The 10000 mAh & 20000 mAh variant supports 18W and 10W fast charging respectively. It will be available from 18th Feb at 12 noon.

Speaking of the other benefits of electric scooter, it brings down the carbon footprint, air pollution, and results in lesser dependence on crude oil and tackles climate change. The Venu Srinivasan Motor company, often know as TVS Motors has launched its first e-scooter named iQube. The best and the important highlight of iQube is that everything from design to the internal components is made in India. TVS  iQube and Bajaj Chetak are full-fledged Indian products.

The TVS scooter had its veil took off by Nitin Gadkari (union minister for Road, Transport, and Highways) and B.S. Yeddyurappa (Chief Minister of Karnataka). Here is the list of features of TVS iQube:

  1. The iQube carries a 4.4kW hub motor, with 140Nm of torque at the wheel.
  2. TVS claims that the scooter can go from 0 to 40kmph in just 4.2 seconds.
  3. The scooter features two-speed modes, wherein the max speed can zing up to 78kmph in the Sport mode.  In the other mode, the scooter’s maximum speed is up to 40kmph
  4. The iQube electric scooter will have a top speed of 78 kilometers per hour.
  5. The iQube electric scooter will be able to run 75 kilometers in full charge.
  6. It comes with a 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery divided into three packs.
  7. Users can also use a conventional 5A adapter that comes bundled out of the box. It will fill full in about 5 hours.
  8. The scooter sports regenerative braking, Q-park assists reverse mode and Bluetooth-powered SmartXonnect platform.
  9. The scooter features a rich dashboard, a telescopic front fork, twin adjustable rear shock absorbers, 12-inch alloy wheels, amongst other things.

Price and Availability:

The TVS iQube will be available for purchase in Bengaluru from January 27. the price of the scooter starts at Rs. 1.15 lakh.

Ather has launched a 450x smart electric scooter that comes with a range of 85 km with new 21700 battery, and one of the quickest accelerations of 6.5 seconds from 0-60 km/hr.  The scooter was launched at an event in Delhi and comes with faster charging at 1.5km/ minute. The new model features built-in Bluetooth and comes with built-in 4G and Wi-Fi support, thanks to Snapdragon 212 processor.

The vehicle costs Rs. 99,000 but users can choose new Plus and Pro subscriptions of Rs.. 1699 or 1999 per month, respectively. Both the models have similar internal specifications however, the subscription model differs, which users can interchange on their app.

  1. The 450x model is powered by peak motor power of 60kw and the 450 model is powered by the peak motor power of 5.4kW.
  2. 450x model comes with a battery of 9 kWh,21700 Lithium-whereas, the 450 model comes with a battery of 2.4 kWh,18650 Lithium-ion.
  3. The charging rate of 450x model is 45km/min (0-50% SOC)and the charging rate of 450 model is 1 km/min.
  4. The 450x model sports Eco, Ride, Sport, Warp modes and the 450 model sports Eco, Ride, Sport modes only.
  5. The 450x model features 4G, Wi-Fi 2.4/5Gconnectivity options whereas the 450 model sports 3G connectivity only.
  6. The 450x model is available in White with Green, Grey with Yellow, Green with Orange color options whereas the 450 model is available in only one color option i.e. White with Green

Price and Availability:

Including the subscription,  the Ather 450x is priced for Rs. 1.49 lakhs for the Plus model. The Pro model costs Rs. 1.59 lakh. The Delhi pricing will be Rs.  1.35 lakhs and Rs. 1.45 lakh respectively. The scooter will go on sale from July 2020 in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad.
